    Nice and quiet, just good surf and damn good surfing!....I'm glad hurley did'nt have some jingle they thought would be appropriate to toss in there!

    I’m pretty sure we surfed this spot in July 2000, and the left on the other side of the pass, it was about 15 min boat ride from Teahpoo. There is another left we surfed, Teava iti another 10 min boat ride or so further. Nowhere near as big as this video, but the sneaker sets would wash you into the lagoon. Major storm cleared the lineup at Teahpoo on our ride back, and we had it to the three of us for 40 min with our guide Moana David. Great footage, Tahiti has the power!

    That's way deeper than 2/3 foot, maybe 2/3 metres, if it was that shallow you'd see the boils all along the wave as it sucks off the reed

    This looks like the Paparaa outer reef, called also Maoti! I've seen some pictures surfing in tow-in, really big, even more than this!

    i have a question: how deep is the water where the wave brakes? are surfers sometimes touching the ground when they get whiped out?

      where it break is probyl bout 6-7 feet, bu it justs get shallower the close u get
      and lets say its 6 foot deep u get throw down too, maybe 6 foot, danger yes, but if you know what your doing still dangerous

    The surf breaks in about 2-3 foot of water over a coral reef. Yes they do hit bottom, and sometimes they get seriously injured. Google Keala Kennelly.
