I'm sure you have to struggle to provide the videos of maintaining Envision, but I, for one of many, truly appreciate your efforts. Just noting that over a thousand people have viewed this video in just 14 hours after your posting it - you bring a lot of pleasure, entertainment, and education to this group and I'm sure most all of us feel that same gratitude and appreciation. Thanks!!
On labor day weekend, with 8 pax on board, my impeller stripped out from the shaft , ruined the pump seals and overheated the engine. We got towed by a jetski (no wind). Very humbling experience. Just got the new seals and impeller installed yesterday on this discontinued, 1985 water pump. Fingers crossed that it works, a replacement pump is 1/4 the cost of the boat. Always love your videos!
Wow. We once had two separate, brand new power boats that failed us while out on the water. My M12 manual shows rotating the oil cup or something, it's been too long to recall, but I wonder if that would have helped.
thanks for the reply. I have a 1985 catalina 27 with the universal M18. I'll do some research to see if there is something similar to what you're thinking about. @@AdventuresInParadise
I enjoy your videos and also empathize with you on the boat problems! I just spent 4 afternoon/evenings in a row at my boat replacing a stiff old exhaust riser-to-muffler hose, loosening a stuck oil drain hose nut in order to do an oil/filter change, changing out an impossibly tight alternator belt, fixing a loose alternator strap, and some pre-winterization prep. The work never ends, but there is a definite sense of satisfaction solving problems/DIY and having a well-running boat!
Great content. I am really envious of what looked to be a wonderful night out on the water. The rest is just normal boat life. Glad to see that you pinpointed the issue.
Glad you found it. You'll be back up to 100% again soon and back to having that confidence in the boat. Nothing like a nagging and persistent problem. Glad you are back to making videos too.
Thanks... yea... we kinda took a break after the Key West trip, but there are some other reasons which we want to share soon. But your comment reminds me that Susy and I are eager to come see your boat now that it's more done, and hopefully take her out on the water!
@AdventuresInParadise I just switched my schedule that will allow for more time off. One of our first overnight trips will be to your anchorage right off your marina. We are getting close now Ill let you know.
Ah the joy's of boat ownership ot never ends but it's really a part of it i don't mind you get a sence of satisfaction k owing when you've discovered the issue and fixed it yourself. Gives you confidence going forward
That poor engine needs some love. Considering how much you rely on it? Instead of just ignoring it until it breaks down focus on preventative maintenance.

Use PVC board and 316 stainless to avoid those ladder issues.

Make sure you chase down that other missing fin... It's somewhere in your system just waiting to cause problems.
Yes, it is, hard to take care of a boat this size, a home, a job, work and etc, etc. You Guys do it well. Peace...

Ignoring it? Maybe you haven't seen any of my other videos.
Is that a Universal M3-20 you have?
It was a M12
I’m going to say this before I watch the whole video.
I’m thinking it’s a head or turbo.
I’m glad that I was wrong. And after I sent my guesses, I realized that your engine is most likely naturally aspirated.
