Great advice here! Just back from Alaska SE cruise myself a few days ago, and spent months overthinking what to bring :) In the end I only used the EM5.3 w/ Oly 12-200 lens (aside from a few interior ship shots with the 9mm PL), and probably could have gotten away with just a 12-100 - was pure vacation mode, travel minimalist is the way to go as you suggest!
Also brought the pocket 3 and gopro - thinking to go more minimalist in the future, could just downsize to just a g9ii for photo and great stabilized video...

I'm sure that was a great trip. If we were to do it again, I'd take my G9II, 14-140, 100-300 and PL9 as well. I'd probably also take my OP3 and the little ZS200 for Zodiac tours. The only place where we got wet was that clip of a Zodiac tour in the Inian Islands. The tidal current was so fast it was like whitewater rafting on the ocean. I saw the wave in time, another guy facing away from it got his little Nikon superzoom drenched and that was the end of that.

@@ToddBannor haha that’s unfortunate about the Nikon:) another thing I learned is what excursions to take and more importantly not take next time - whitewater rafting sounds amazing, most of our outings were pretty tame but still breathtaking! If would have gone on one of the whale watching excursions the 75-300 would have been great to have for sure!
