Don't wast your time and Jay's time at the games. You can always watch the game highlights later online. Get out and about. Drive around and see Australia and ENJOY the people. Don't be shy.

The men's events seem pure strength and not much artistry. So glad I was in women's gymnastics, because no way could I do all that strength stuff!

I think Brits can travel to the US without a visa. Why do you need one for Australia, a commonwealth country.
Depends on why they are going. For nothing but a vacation, usually Australian allies in the first world (basically, people they aren't afraid will disappear & overstay their claimed "vacation" time) can go without one. However, if you're "working," you need one regardless, and there is a lot that qualifies. Like it doesn't have to be that you're going on a payroll and working 9-5, it can be a lot of things. Or if you're going for business even without getting paid, some countries require a visa just stating your purpose is business. For vacation to Australia, UK citizens don't need the typical visa, like a piece of paper with stamps. They require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization, I think is what it stands for) which is online. So not as difficult to sort but still necessary.
Normally its co dependant - so a Brit who needs a visa for Australia usually means that an Aussie needs the same visa to get into the UK. So I can go to the UK as a visitor BUT not if I am going to work or stay longer than a holiday

It would be good to remember that Australia was at one time, a 'penal' colony for English criminals. Therefore the big goal for you guys is NOT getting there but instead it is all about getting out of Australia and back to England. :-)
