Yes, but 100% of the time I have a generator and vac loaded in the skid steer bucket, thats a way bigger ordeal than this, but using it underground will destroy the tape anyway, so yeah, gonna be driving the skid steer
My favorite is a nitrogen bottle from a kitchen supply shop filled up and blowing it through u also get to shoot all the water out the other end instead of constantly filling it up.
@@MikesToolShed what ive found is the reason most peoples pvc runs get saturated with water is because they dont use primer and they dont make sure its made up. When u use primer it etches the surface and pvc glue actually melts the surface area of the two pvc pipes together chemically. Im telling you that talk about its gonna get water in it anyways from people ive worked with isnt right your pulls go much better when u store your pipe in a clean spot and not let it get full of debris and u prime with purple primer.
@@sebastianadkins2211 I was referring to the fact I tried to a live premier and I gave it an hour to upload and process but youtube was being slow as shit. So the premiere went live with no videos. Probably won't try that again, it's kind of a stupid feature anyway
I miss his videos, here was a chill dude. RIP Mike you're channel would have blown up no doubt. Fellow electricians stay safe out there, God bless. 😔🙏🏾🕊🕊
Well g'day there stranger, bloody good to see you, mate, well your hand anyways!😳😉😆 Looks like a dodgy one to me, nothing worse when they approve half arsed tools to be put on shelves for sale! See you in another 6 months, then?🤔🤭 Take care, man.👍🏽
There are so many guys on youtube doing tool reviews where they just read the box and then regurgitate how awesome Milwaukee is..... idk man they make good stuff for sure but it’s refreshing to see a guy actually use something and review it honestly
Awesome to see a honest review! I feel like the polyester wire might be better when it comes to the tangeling and breaking part, but I don’t know for sure…
Mike we need more videos! Always check on your channel to see if anything new is up. Have been watching since my first day in the trade. Hope life is goin good for ya.
Great review! I don’t pull enough wire to justify something like this but I think not having a feeling on what your pulling would definitely be strange. Thanks for sharing your opinion on this!
I was about to pull the trigger and buy this, but after seeing this.... I don't see it being cost effective and would be a pain to maintain and use. Time is money, and from the sound of it, it's too slow, and won't hold up to normal wear and tear
Try the non conductive fish tape version. Its supposed to be better. Edit.. I got you right on that Milwaukee hammer drill. Lets see somethin for the fans.
This is great to hear Mike! I've been going back and forth on buying one of these. Every electrician knows that you need to feel things when u pull and push a fish tape, and I don't see that with this tape. And you're Soo right about the testicles! And getting whipped in the face! 🇺🇸👍🏼
I had the same issue, hung up to often cause of kinks and well from the bends it broke when trying to straighten out. I basically converted it to mule strong. Removed the entrance piece, basically I still vacuum jetline with a bag then use the jetline to pull the mule string. Pulls faster than doing it by hand.
I never had any luck with the Milwaukee angler fishing underground pvc pipe. Never once has the fish go right thru the pipe. I tried both the plastic and steel cartridges on 3/4 up to 1" 1/4 pipe. 40 foot short runs with 2 90° I am very disappointed 😞! I never used on EMT, maybe it will work.
MIKE! Missed you BROTHER! - NEED MORE MTS! - KNOCK SHIT OVER! EDIT: I have used this before, and it's ONLY good for rolling up the fish tape when you are finished and want it back in the roll...Pushing it through pipe just DOES NOT work, unless the pipe has NO bends in it LOL...Pulling wire, isn't terrible, but it is just too slow, def way quicker by hand....But, A great thing for just retracting the tape to clean it up...
I was hoping I'd find a review for this on your channel. I know this is 7 months old but in terms of review intervals... It's not too far behind. Lol. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad I looked at your review. There are a couple reviews I've seen but I have a hard time putting complete faith in a "review" on a channel that looks like Milwaukee came in and built their stage as to rival most HD displays. Every tool, huge branding signs, etc.
Hi Mike , Thanks good to See A Video from you . Milwaukee Has Gone Downhill . Not A Fan Anymore . Only like their Knives and Cobalt Drill bits .Thanks for the Honest Review .
Absolutely agree on the foot counter. Never thought of that. It really is heavy for a “hand” tool. Company bought one and it worked great for three days. Somehow got bound up inside and then couldn’t unload more the 80’. It’s a great idea for someone who has a regular fish tape and doesn’t like wrapping up 200’ of tape time and time again. I would think it might be best to un-scroll it out of the cartridge, push by hand, pull by hand and use the motor to wrap it up. Like the idea of this tool but for the price….meh. I think back to the drawing board by Milwaukee engineering on this one.
@@BBQPitmaster626 clc makes the best one in my opinion. Don't get the electricians bags with the flap. I think it's tan. It sucks. The black electricians bags are very nice imo. I think under 100 dollars. The belt is the best part. So comfortable.
Steel ones suck. The non conductive one is better. Even non powered one. Steel ones always get bent or buckle. I do low voltage so that's probably why I rather use the non conductive ones.
I can re affirm on alot of these points, I've pulled in around 6000' of wire with my 240' steel and if it gets bound up you won't know it till it's to late and it's already rolled back on its self and kink, which forces you to take apart the cartridge which they didn't take into consideration when designing the cartridge it's a pain. You have to be careful while using it. I went with the poly cartridge when doesn't snag up as bad.
Dude. Thank you for a review with MULTIPLE examples of how it was used. Your funny as hell! New to the channel but I’ll be sticking around for more. Subbed I’m waiting on a deal on these for low volt work. I love the new nylon tapes from Milwaukee but glad to hear your feedback on the thin metal and to avoid it.
I still prefer the Shop-Vac and plastic bag method. 👍
Yes, but 100% of the time I have a generator and vac loaded in the skid steer bucket, thats a way bigger ordeal than this, but using it underground will destroy the tape anyway, so yeah, gonna be driving the skid steer

M18 Battery vac and a bucket of line, best way. If your pipes are mostly clear. If not get a real wet-dry vac.

I feel like it would be great for 100+ foot runs of 3/4-1" EMT. Especially if you're on a scissor lift.
Try replacing the cartridge with a polyester fish tape. In my experience the poly is much better then steel.

I busted my lip when i was fairly new trying to bend a new loop with my kleins man did i feel stupid.
All Milwaukee fish taps are total trash .. their glow rods are awesome but for fish tapes? Klein all the way
Maybe you should reserve it for pulling big wire bundles long distances? Can the motor handle that?
Hope everything is ok!

Has anyone tried adding one of those polyester tips to the steel tape to see if it works better?
