The roadster guy is the most realistic street racer in the series. Needs to borrow money for tires, girlfriend hates him and his stupid car, wipes out from overdriving
Honestly, I'm actually curious what some of the other racers in the show do for work, like I know the Takahashi brothers come from a rich family but what about Nakazato how does he afford his r32 lol
@@bri12345ification in the beginning you get crazy, spending all the money you got. That's basically Nakazato story. He is started from scratch, and climbed his way to the top.
9:51 I've had some people I've shown this to ask me, so I'll say it here in case anyone else is wondering. The reason why he lifts his hands off the steering wheel isn't just him "giving up" or "falling into despair", though it kind of sort of is. The real reason is that at such speeds and angle, the impact of a potential crash can quickly and powerfully twist the steering wheel, so holding onto it might lead to additional hand/finger/wrist injury. If you've ever hit something in a car or watched onboard footage of F1 crashes (as those tend to be more powerful) you'll know. In the last moment, he realizes he can't avoid a crash at that point, so he decides that since he's already going to go up in the air, might as well minimize potential injury. So yes, he does "give up" at that point, but not simply for dramatic effect.
I don’t know if this is on purpose but this is very technically accurate. A first or second generation miata has almost no suspension travel at the rear. Even without being lowered the bump stops account for most of your rear suspension spring effect. By comparison an AE86 has a solid rear axle, like a pickup truck. So it has a lot more suspension travel to do funky weight shifting tricks. This is a bad thing for handling, but works great in a cartoon for doing crazy party tricks :)

@@Kago446 nope, the scene here was to shine a light on the achilles heel of more advanced suspension configuration like the NA6C's multilink setup against the AE86 traditional mcpherson strut type's behaviour when without load. While multilink and double wishbone design were optimized for all four corners of tyres to gain the maximum contact patch(theoretically more traction) at all times through passive toe and camber gain by allowing more axis articulation, both the the double wishbone and multilink were designed to operate on inside out flipped version of caster's leverage, the textbook tuning of these suspension configuration have always been 1.5x rebound compared to compression, so the natural behaviour of the wheel on the MX-5 inherently goes down, pushes the wheel towards the ground on a inner camber arc when there's zero suspension load, as opposed to the AE86's strut just hanging there, relying on weight transfer clearing the huge gap for a fraction of seconds. The fact that most top level AE86 tuning houses were still running weld-on coilovers on chopped short stroke strut bodies(limited suspension travel) due to the lack of 2-way adjustable coilovers for this archaic platform also does not help the MX-5's case much either. Also the AE86 has live axle rear end, there's basically no suspension, the same reason why S197 runs into crowds all the time and drifter favours cars with obselete suspension like these for drifting, doing the one thing that a working suspension is not suppose to do: breaking traction out of incompetence.
Correct me if I’m wrong but Takumi kept his foot on the gas, transferring the weight to the rear which made the front light enough to “glide” through the ditch. Tohru probably thought it was a magic trick and tried to copy it without knowing how, his heavy front then fell into the ditch.
