- Hitachi EX1800 mining excavator loading CATERPILLAR 777 trucks starting new bench so it can then get trucks down and begin production loading. Listen to how hard this rock is, it sounds like glass shattering as he is digging!
Awesome!!!
Awesome footage and yes it does sound like glass. What kind of material is and what will it be crushed and then turned into gravel or aggregate or road base material?? Like to see blasted rock or stone being loaded and handled!!
Great!!
Awesome
Awesome power. Super video 👍
That's a big excavator
I think this is vulcan look how dark that rock is
Is that Vulcan materials in corona?
that is some heavy lift. I used to operate a gantry crane that would lift 40 ton. Anyone know how many ton this machine is lifting?
Specs say max lifting force 60 ton...
About 20-30 tonne
Is that at Vulcan?

Why take such deep cuts? I’ve seen a lot of guys do it that way but never really understood it because of the loss of cycle time and the safety factor of working next to such a drop off.
that is how they do it is in benches. What makes the cycle times longer is dumping behind himself. In the description it says they are starting a bench. I think once there is room the trucks will be on the floor of the cut and the cycle times will decrease. If a bench is left not being mined according to OSHA Regs there has to be a berm protecting someone from driving off the edge. I think the berm needs to be 4ft high.
Brian Gardiner OSHA has no authority on a mine site it falls under MSHA regulations. Yes any place there is a potential for a roll over it must be bermed, however there is no set height in ft., it is mid-axle of the largest piece of equipment working in the area.
