    Hello fashion honeys 🤍
    Today I am giving a tutorial for a top I first made using my Nana’s vintage fabrics and ribbons. The fabric I have later used for the tutorial is some I sourced from shinetrimmings... and if you purchase from here it’s the ‘stretch lace blossom’ you want to look at. If you want to buy fabric from the country you reside just type in ‘stretch lace’ and your city and something comparable should pop up! Please also forgive me for some of the shaking in the video I’ll do better next time! - Love Mareta xx

      Its completly the same, if you use an stretchy fabric(jersey), you should do a size smaller than normal

    This top is so cute!
    Do you think I could use a different type of fabric so it want be so transparent?
    If so what do you recommend?

    • @maretathreads
      @maretathreads  Год назад +3

      Yes absolutely! The stretch lace is just a stretch fabric so any other stretch fabric in it's place would give the same result e.g. Jersey, Bamboo, Lycra - However these fabrics have a little more stretch so I would maybe size down! xx

    Can I use a non stretch fabric for this? And is there another way to do this without a rubber strap?

    • @ninapereira6688
      @ninapereira6688 2 месяца назад +2

      i tried and if you use a non stretch fabric you will have to put an invisible zipper because the waist section is way too small o let your head in and for the elastic you can sew vertically where the elastic would be then you pull on the thread (without letting it go on the other side) and then tie a knot it will create this ruched effect

    is this possible to do by hand? without a sewing machine? ofc I would assume it takes longer but would it impact the quality of the top and would you need to modify the instructions?

    Hello. I purchased your pattern yesterday. To confirm, do I need to add the seam allowance to the pattern when cutting? I am a bit confused with the video tutorial and the pdf instructions. Thank you. also, your tutorial top, seams like the front top is hemmed. Is that correct?

    • @maretathreads
      @maretathreads  9 месяцев назад

      Hi Adelaide! So the YT tute is for people who only have one sewing machine and will make pretty much the whole thing on the zig zag stitch. You will tinker with the seam allowance to better adapt the pattern for the machines you have. If you have both a sewing machine & an overlocker then I assume you're likely a little more experienced of a sewists and can use the PDF written & visual instructions only as they utilise both machines and do not alter the seam allowance. Does that help? xx

      There you go. Yes, I was correct all along, but just had my doubts. Awesome pattern. Thank you so much. Blessings.@@maretathreads

    I am planning on buying the pattern but I am wondering where you can buy that type of fabric?

    • @maretathreads
      @maretathreads  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's stretch lace! So where ever you live I would just type in stretch lace into google and see what places stock it near you or that can ship. The composition of the fabric you'll want to use is about (90% Nylon & 10% Elastane/Spandex) but (92% Nylon & 8% Elastane/Spandex) is also good! Try typing in: (Stretch Lace 90% Nylon 10% Spandex) into google and see what pops up. Depending on where you are in the world some places say spandex and others say elastane. Hope that helps! xx
