- Do you want to know how to add Crossplay Friends and Invite them in Battlefield 2042 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC! This is very easy to do. On the main multiplayer menu, if you go to the bottom right. You can go to the social menu! Where you can see your friends list and EA friends list where you can invite crossplay friends. Then tab over to the invitations tab and you can search for crossplay friends and invite them to your game when they accept your friends request! ...

If you are on the OLD Generations (PS4, Xbox One) of consoles you will not be able to play with the New Generation of consoles (Xbox Series X, PS5, PC) However on the PS5 there is a work around, check out the video here! ruclips.net/video/8QTDPR3HwPc/видео.html
But if your friend is one ps4 and you on Xbox one can you still add each other as a friend

There’s no more “Search for EA ID” search bar in there, only search for friends bar but it’s not helping me to find Xbox Series X friend.
welcome to modern online gaming everyone, i spent 30 minutes trying to add a friend then discovered the game is broken.
i remember it used to take 15 seconds to join your friends on the ps3...
Yeah guess what, you also weren't playing with other platforms on ps3. Cross play is what a majority of gamers wanted.

Make sure you have series s, not xb1 s. Thats a big difference.
Dang only if it worked that easy, me and my buddy can't friend each other at all, I play it on pc and he does on ps4, but anytime we try to add in our EA IDs it just says player does not exist or something like that..
I believe PC players can only do crossplay with people who play on next gen consols{PS5, Xbox Series X/S}

Wish i had known that Xbox one and PC players wouldn't have been able to play together before spending 60 bucks on buying it for my sister. Only reason she wanted it was so we could game together again. This is some B.S.
I jad same issue... bought all my nephews the game on xb1 to play with me... they cannot.
You are dumb for not looking into the cross play, a Xbox one series s is 200 bucks and will allow you to join 128 lobby’s and cross play
They really need to make this more obvious. Spent a couple trying to play with some friends online before finding this...

I have been able to do that but only 3 others. The aggravating part unlike all prior battlefields you cannot add or join anything above the 4 players
People keep responding that old gens are the only ones affected by this because they can only play with other olds generation consoles and not next gen consoles or PC. I can confirm this issue is happening on next gen as well. I am on Series X and I cannot play with my EA Play friends on PC.
I’m having the same exact issue on series x. The only people that come up are Xbox players and I have done literally everything to the settings. It basically shows crossplay is enabled on the console and game but still nothing but Xbox

Even PS5 + PS4 don't work with the EA id. It didn't shows us playstation network or EA. Very poor, EA... Veeeeery poor

It doesn't work when my friend trys to search up my id it comes up with nothing. I them a friend request and they got nothing.
I have to go into cloud gaming to play with my friend but the resolution is terrible and I don't wanna do the cloud gaming I want to be able to have a higher resolution.

So do u manually set up/sign in to your EA Account to use this Feature of adding EA friends or do u automatically have some obligatory EA Account by playing the game already?

I’m on series x and have signed in to prior and new EA accounts and it doesn’t allow me to see other platforms when searching regardless if crossplay is enabled on or not.

I am playing on PC, and I CAN send an EA friend request to my Xbox Series X friend. He, however, cannot see the request, and upon searching for me, he cannot find me. We even went into the same portal server, and when he clicks on me, there is no option to add me. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and does anyone know of a fix?

How come when I type my name friends nothing shows up, yes it was correctly spelled, but still I got hit with “No players matched this searched criteria” but when I type a random word I’m givin like a thousand different accounts HELP😵💫
I had the same issues. I finally got it to work. Connecting PS5 to XB1. I downloaded the desktop version of Origin, logged in, searched and found my friend. Sent friend request. I then logged out and logged in under their account and accepted friend request. We are now able to see each other via the BF2042 Socials screen. Actually playing together is a whole another issue. My system gets glitchy. But made progress of being able to find each other. Hope this helps.

If you got a ps5 and your friend has a ps4, you gotta select that platform version.
PS4 players can’t play with ps5 / new gen xbox, they can only play with xbox1

Let’s make a game that can’t fucking be played by people on different consoles. What year is this? It’s 2021 and I can’t use my ps4 to play with a person on a pc? No one can even get their hands on a ps5 without losing an arm and a leg. EA is the biggest trash can of a company in gaming history so damn frustrating to just try to enjoy anything. Games made 5 years ago can play cross play but somehow this is “impossible” for them

Nope; only Nextgen console can cross platform inkl PC. But you should be able to play with same brand like PS4 and PS5...and XB1 and XBX X. But cross platform you need next gen console or PC to play together.
