How can I rent my own server cuz I want to remove the bubble distance 😞😞😞
The Devs need to raise the non dedicated tether distance. Its only 180 meters which is really sad. And the menu tether distance slider does not work as well.
You can manually input numbers into it though

The Devs need to put dedicated server option in the game. So i can run one on my pc and play on xbox with friends with no tether nonsence.

The tether distance ruins the game

@@joelhoyle97 Yes it is. My friend and I play on a non-dedicated server and the tether doesn't pull us back to the host until 800 meters it seems.
How do you change the tether distance?
Me and a friend are both on series S and it doesn't matter if i have the actual game installed or playing through cloud, she cannot join me and i cannot join her non dedicated game , when she tries to join it brings up a message saying " sorry you can't join this game session , you need the xbox series X/S version of the game to join the game session " and there is a code in brackets which is - 0x87e10019 . Are we missing something or are we maybe being retarted or is the game just fucked up ? Lol

You really should have shown the tether distance limit, but also how to rent a server, the options available, and how much it costs.
hi Teach, are you experiencing that "(button)mods list\installed mods" in-game panel shows only 10 mods? the problem I have is that I have installed more than 10 mods in single player mod, and it's such a pain to find out if any of the rest installed mod is "outdated".

It wasn't stated that when upgrading the engine for ascended, they also removed player dedicated servers to force players' hands into renting a server.
Theres no reason other than greed, and the fact that they left out that detail makes me think there's lawsuit capability.
Customers expected an upgraded product, but customers were left with having options of play removed, placed behind a paywall.
This needs to be a bigger deal, but im not seeing anyone speak of it.
Yes, I've heard of downloading a runnable server and having to port forward, this wasnt necessary with evolved. Still BS

You are misinformed. It is completely free and works flawlessly.
@@leviboley is it dedicated or nondedicated? I believe they are taking about dedicated, ie always running, servers. You can always launch your own nondedicated session, but you have to be present at all times for any other players to join or any time to progress within the save.
I set up a dedicated server on an older pc that I had. It works pretty well. You have to be pretty familiar with command codes and scripts. I’m still trying to research what some of the settings actually do.

I made a non dedicated for my friend and I but when I sign out it kicks him out too. Can this be changed so he can play when I am not there?
Me and my friend were always peaceful players. And once we had a really nice base. We worked on it for 1.5 months. And it was all gone. In less than 5 minutes by someone with a Wyvern. We made a decision. Unless we’re being able to create our own private server, we won’t be returning
i would never play pvp for that exact reason, pve is the move brother

Me and my friend play Ark Ascended on the PS 5 but like one of the other users mentioned here below, the custom tether distance does not work. So even when we input a manual number like 50 or 100 we are still limited to 180 meters which sucks because we can never be far apart or go on solo missions we always have to be next to one another. Is there any way to fix this or any way to contact the devs of Ark Ascended to ask them directly?
I think they did this to prevent lag.
Ps5 can’t have that option because you simply can’t handle to have an entire world on your console.

no... it's pc load, the person hosting the server has to load where every player is at and what is rendered around them.@@trimcrew

Thank you, have been wondering how all that worked and what it meant. Nevertheless I still find it a little confusing. I was wondering, I am 71 yrs old and just enjoy taking my time and doing my own thing, single player on the island atm and PVE of course, without having to talk to others but at same time would be nice to fly by other players and check out their bases and dont feel totally alone on the Island. Any suggestions how to do that without being tethered or does that style not exist?? Thanks.

Nope, greedy snailgames took that out so you are forced to rent a server for money.

And not just a regular crash every 30 min, but a crash to the point I crash before I even get into the game, so it's practically unplayable

Hey Teach, is there a way to view who is on the server. Like ase when you click pause on the side shows who is on the server. I see asa does not have it which is stupid.

Because “Private” doesn’t work. If you check the box for private, your session cannot be found.

If you mean your own dedicated server, you can, very easily. It is a shame so many people don't seem to be aware of this because it is extremely easy and extremely free.
@leviboley no. An actually clustered server that is rented. Only open to those already on that cluster so people can't port from SP or other servers, only the cluster.
Question is, if my wife has a single player save, she can open it in a non dedi of which I can join in but if she goes back to single player will the work we've done on the non dedi save back to her single player ?

we have a problem when we create a server, not Nitrado then our host has the problem that the other players move very laggy.
Not playable, and that was the case for all of us, so everyone tried to host but ONLY the host had the problem.
They need to get rid of the tether it completely useless and nobody wants to deal with it plus it takes the fun out of the purpose
Can you use mods on unofficial servers?
Yes. Most unofficial servers will have their own selected mods though which you'll have to download to join the server. I'm unsure if you can use mods that aren't on that server if that makes sense.
These 180m is the only problem. And its trash because if you change the numbers the 180m is still the max.
