Deep Purple and Rainbow, now Blackmore' s Night. He's most creative man in bussiness and top guitarist. And above all, his music stood test of time.

I agree with all the great comments about Blackmore, but I disagree (imagine that on the internet lol) with the comparisons to Page and Clapton. People always have to compare and rank. Art can't be ranked. They are all amazing in the own right.

Absolutely agree. I'm listen to Blackmore more than the others but there's no point ranking them. All greats, we should enjoy them when we can. Sad that Jimmy doesn't play live any more but at least I got to see him in the 90s.

For me only two names are necessary. Schenker and Blackmore. Schenker was in my opinion a better technical guitarist, but Blackmore was a greater composer with great technical skill (in my opinion again).

Yes, Eric was peaked & done after his 'time out' in the earliest of '70s. Beck was far more jazz. Page, blues & feel-not a note-for-note pefectionist. BUT, Blackmores zig zagging w/rock/jazz/classical/pop.....heavy on the pop when cable tv kicked up the exposure left the fan base thinned out. And as known today a difficult person to get on with. He relished the negative. Yes, the talent was there all along, but the down time also pushed his name out of the limelight the past 25 years.

I agree - Clapton does covers. Page is a great song writer and arranger but sloppy in his delivery - amazing in the studio. Blackmore with Beck and Hendrix were unbeatable live - and on a good night Blackmore was untouchable. I think Blackmore's Studio recordings were sometimes badly produced and he sometimes took too much of a back seat (the complete opposite to his live playing). Beck's output was sometimes quirky and therefore he'll remain a guitarist's guitarist. Blackmore was shredding, ecomony picking, sweep picking, playing arpeggios and playing with feedback (already in 1961) before anyone else. Hendrix included. He pushed the bad boy difficult image thing himself - especially in the 1980's. I have understood he is not difficult to work with as long as you deliver quality and you are competent... If you are not doing both of those you were out...

Interesting opinion. You do have to hand it to Blackmore that his era specific music does not completely define him, but it defines his popularity to some extent. Similarly you can say the same about Jeff Beck. Jimi did not live long enough to evolve and develop. There was some evidence to suggest that he was, or that he wanted to take his music in a different direction. From this point of view Eric has moved a bit in this direction or that, but he has always returned to his roots in blues. Page- well, he is pretty much defined by the body of work that he did with Zeppelin, and he should be proud. Developmentally there is not much career progression there (post Zeppelin). With that said - the Trinity for me is Jimi, Jeff and Eric. It's all subjective for me - what I like better. Technically speaking I really cannot say who is better than who. Even though Jimi was American, it was Britain that launched him. I do agree with this man's comments about doing enough and not doing too much. Blackmore had a group around him for "filling". Page did too. Eric and Jimi had trios- more pressure to do more work when playing live. Peace-

Blackmore and Beck both know how to let it breathe. I'd agree both are doing more work/ playing than Page, Clapton. Did you know Clapton the only one in
    R n R HF 3 times... 😅solo. Yardbirds. Blind Faith.
