    What most people don't understand is the power of a wave. Water is very heavy and waves unleash insane amounts of energy, even a small 3-4ft wave can hold you down in certain conditions.

    I've had plenty of wipe outs ...it's crazy... first you take a deep breath...you get sucked down into the darkness... your doing big circles and EVERY TIME you think you might drown you get rolled up to the surface again to take another deep breath and you get sucked back down again into the darkness...and start the circle again... just when you think you're going to drown you get rolled up to the surface again to get another breath and then you get sucked back down again into the dark ...then you start swimming for the surface and the first thing you do is look to see if a another wave is going to break on you ..if one is you take another deep breath and swim down ....

When she said, "it felt good", it meant she is able to handle it and will make through. Some wipe outs, are so intense, you have no time to think. It is brutal. Time slows down, and you are hoping for some air. In the meantime, you broke your back; you got injured; and your are pinned down in a hold down. Once you get to the surface, another bomb is manifesting itself down to you. Got it!

    Alright, they chose the wrong person to explain what getting pounded by a big wave feels like.
    Basically it's like swirling and tumbling underneath a blue darkness by a surge or rush of water, struggling to swim and not knowing up from down is another thing as your literally doing flips underwater with water rushing up your nose.
    You can't even swim up as the force of the waves would just drag you down and you'll just be fighting the ocean, the best you can do is just hold your breath and wait until the water clears then paddle up towards towards the surface.
    It's like a cool, blackness mixed with adrenaline and fear,
    The one thing I would say is you better hold your breath, cuz you'll be under for a while and when you do get up, you'll be tired and gasping for air until another wave comes.
    I body board alot and dealt with many times where I was barrelled, slammed into the water and nearly drowned from the sheer force of the waves.
    Idk how it is with other people but that's how it is with me

    While I have never wiped out on a wave that big; a few core concepts: pull your limbs in (the force of the water wants to pull you apart, relax (anxiety uses oxygen and because the wave collapsing traps air, the bubbles have to pop before you can swim- don't try breathing it!) wait until you know which way is up before you start swimming (you don't want to go any deeper).

    • @rksnote9635
      @rksnote9635 Год назад

      I have wiped out in big waves and no it doesnt want to pull your limbs apart. It only wants to push you down. Its actually a soft experience, the most dangerous part is hitting the bottom, getting your ears blownout from being pushed deep down or not holding your breath long enough and drowning.

    If you've never caught a wave, you can't really understand being pounded by water.

    I wonder if they were filming her surf and she just happened to get sucked into the wave or if they asked her to purposely swim into a wave from underneath. If it is the later I would love to see all the filming starting with her calling the film crew crazy. But then again she probably takes on waves that size every day before breakfast.

    Great, but this wasn’t a big wave, and the footage was reconstructed and edited, it wasn’t of a wipeout

      IKR. The wipeout waves are swirling dark vortexes of pitch black terror
