Thank you for sharing your perspective of your sport with us. I know its been years since this was posted. But I've surfed through your content. And as someone who will never be able to physically handle doing a sport like this? Its amazing to see just how close to flying humans come. And how beautiful it is.
That line through the canyon is mega-impressive and beyond insane how close you guys get to the rocks below, especially your partner who is flying at a slightly lower height. I have no words, spine-tingling to watch or toe-curling are some of the expressions that come to mind. The equal parts exciting and dangerous aspect of wingsuit flying is that you can not gain height, and only follow the glide slope of the suit, so the angle of the terrain slope being so closely matched to the glide slope and at such proximity is the very definition of extreme adrenaline! Only Isle of Mann TT racing rivals this, and even there the riders have much more control possible since they are not at the mercy of gravity and wind.
I personally would argue that the Isle of Man TT is more dangerous since limits are pushed there and there are at least as much if not more exterior factors who can kill you in a split-second. I don't have a lot of knowledge about wingsuit flying but first and foremost it's simple math: glideslope > terrainslope. if I had to guess i'd say the risk of turbulence or strong winds is smaller than you'd expect due to the close proximity to the ground and your overall small affected area (compared to a big paraglider oder miniwing). if I were forced to chose for me personally it would be wingsuiting anytime even though I'm a formidable bike rider.
