They taped this BBC special in September I think it was. He performed this song again on his tour in Nashville. It was the first time he did it on tour, but Nashville is the hometown of the original artist, Little Big Town, so I believe he paid homage to them in front of his fanbase and Little Big Towns fanbase, which is a pretty smart move. Performing it on the BBC was probably a test to see how it would be received. I don't think he needs to test anything, he can pull anything off. 😁.
