I can totally see this being super helpful for individuals who need a softer diet, such as after jaw surgery. And also, for older individuals, who want smaller portions, easy to prepare, and are still nutritious
as someone who had jaw surgery, these absolutely would not be allowed. jaw surgery usually means you have to have your jaw wired shut and having your jaw wired shut means a liquid-only diet
I’d stack them like a sandwich or sushi. Rice, spinach and salmon with some soy sauce. Or chicken, rice and sweet potato. The mix of the foods might be better than each separate bite.
@@amara560 I’m not sure it’s that, tho, because broccoli and asparagus are also a big NO for FODMAPs. So if they’re going to have those veggies, they could have garlic and onion in them. But there are some religions that avoid eating garlic and onion, and I kinda wonder if some of the founders or backers follow one of those religions…
honestly, i think mama maples was onto something when she first suggesting this food could be for people that don’t like eating! it may be an easier option to consume for people who have difficulty, as the square shape doesn’t usually associate with ‘normal’ foods ☺️☺️

Really good for depression days as well imo, when deciding to/what to eat & cooking & managing enough calories/nutrients is debilitating or overstimulating. As an extension of my autism & adhd that's a really big challenge w mental illness. Being so quick, it doesn't require a whole new chapter of your day either which can block up my train of thought and redirect my energy from healing or focusing. Definitely couldn't do it everyday though :/
Also have ARFID, and I am so thankful they huel is a thing now. I was looking at those squares and thinking "but what about the texture? Are they the same or different?"
I also agree as someone who struggles to eat a lot of the time and also other times when I’m just plain mad that I have to eat multiple times a day and not just for fun meals when I feel like it. This is a dream. I always say I need a kibble or something where I don’t have to think about it. I imagine these are pricey tho! I’ll have to look into it. Mia! Remember last time, you went to Japan and could not try the green mochi due to your allergy? Mochi is very hard to make too. How about you try to make it with Mama Maple for the next episode of trying difficult recipes ❤
I guess it would be hard if you did it the proper traditional way but you can make some decent mochi at home with pretty minimal effort. I’ve done it before and it was easy.
I wish you would have talked about the price. How much was each pack? How much was each one individually? How much does a meal cost? How much was shopping? Are there specials or bundles? It seems like it would be very expensive especially since you'd need 6 "cubes" per meal. It looks like you got a lot of food at first but when you think of how many you need for a single person, that's not a lot of food.

video's a lifesaver, it's 1am in germany and i just started to crochet another pair of pants, didnt have anything to watch since i watched all my german youtuber uploads from today already
This could actually be a REALLY good product for people with sensory issues, like my fellow autistics and ADHDers. A lot of autistic people have issues with textures more than they do flavor, though some can be very flavor dependent but texture is more common. If the textures of the meals are very consistent, I could see it being a huge draw. I also prefer mushy, or smoothed, blended, etc products because it triggers my TMJD, though i do LOVE crunchy food (i miss being able to snack on raw carrots), so this could also be good for people that have disorders with their jaws, dental issues, and perhaps swallowing issues. A lot of us also have issues sensing when we are actually hungry (some just eat because they know they HAVE to) or when we are full, so set portions of meals is often a good idea to understand how much you need to eat. I could also see this helpful for people recovering from certain dysfunctional eating habits, for the same reason that it could be helpful for autistic folk that have internal sensation issues. I for instance dont notice I’m hungry until my head is hurting, getting shakey, or lightheaded, and on the opposite end i don’t feel like I’m full until I’m STUFFED (my “salads” are big enough to stand alone as a family of 4 large side salads) and often eat by volume. I’d have to try it myself though before recommending it to others in autistic-led facebook groups, but i might bring this up to see if anyone has tried it. I know some folks that have been hunting around for years for a full-nutrition, meal shake type meal because of texture/flavor issues or just get too distracted to eat.
I'm genuinly wondering; do you actually feel full after an entire "meal" (like three or four squares)? Does it fill up the same as a plate of food, or is your stomach just going crazy in frustration?
Imagine taking 4 different squares, cutting them into quarters, then putting it back together but each full square is made up of a meat and 3 veg and then you just eat one square 😂😂 also these would be great for a lunch box 🤷🏼♀️😂
I can't believe this company is still on the go! I saw that video years ago... I definitely thought they wouldn't have the customer base to keep this going.

I love how you’ve been talking about your allergies more lately as a fellow allergic-to-everything girly it makes me audibly say “me too!!!” every time you mention it 😂
Ok so this gives me Soylent Green vibes. If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s worth a watch! (The future food is squares and the company is Soylent, green is one of the options).
Omg I loved that Drew Gooden video! I rewatch it all the time lol. I'm so glad you decided to try them out for yourself! I think I'd like to try it myself someday.
These little squares remind me of the ‘food’ in the 1973 movie “Soylent Green”. This movie is kind of prophetic. I suggest people watch it if they can.
As someone who eats many meals without onion and garlic, I see people believing in this way too often ! If one knows how to use spices properly, the absence of onion and garlic will rarely, if ever, be known. I don't speak for onion and garlic centric food, like garlic bread, because that would obviously be incomplete without them , but most dishes would taste just as good with spices used properly ☺️ You could search for these recipes online, they're plentiful. Hope that helps!
Use potato flour (sometimes sold as potato starch) to coat your sweet potato to get crispy sweet potato fries. Soak your sweet potatoes in water for at least 30 mins, rinse thoroughly and dab off as much water as possible and then coat them with potato flour and whatever herbs and spices EXCEPT for salt. Salt added before cooking will make sweet potato fries soggy but you can use it after.
I would love to have dinner with Mia and Mama Maples ❤ What an interesting concept although not sure I’d be into it either but then you have Papa Maples who loves it so 🤷♀️
I am so confused that this is even a thing. Who is their market audience? This isn’t appetizing to me at all. Even in a rush, I’d much rather have a frozen meal than these squares.
I would imagine probably more like people who can't eat solids. My mom can only eat pureed foods after loosing half her tongue to cancer. But she found a company that take pureed food and shapes it into the food. My mom likes it better so it's not like she's eating slop in a bowl like a pig 😅
I lost my appetite from my seizure meds a little under a year ago and kept saying I wish I could basically just take a pill for my meals cause I had to force feed myself. Chewing makes that process so much worse and theres no incentive to cook yourself food when you're not hungry so I'd often skip meals. I would have loved this, wish I knew about it earlier. Oh and I also have GERD so the no onion/garlic is a big selling point for me.
People who are short on time. Maybe even bariatric patients? I'm looking into getting a gastric bypass and you have a pureed food stage. I imagine this would be PERFECT. The servings are super small & it's SUPER quick
as someone with a canceling noise headphone, i can't with all the mouth noise aaaah help it would be perfect for me to eat before heading out to dance class but i don't have a microwave (and they don't ship to my country)
I kind of had a feeling that the vegetable ones would be the worst... I've never gotten any packaged ground up veggies that were actually nice. 🥦Entertaining video, but I'm a bit sad that you cut out the rating the best squares part, I was very curious about that!
The amount that these foods have to be processed in order to be packed into squares disturbs me a bit. Also the environmental impact of each little square being wrapped in plastic isn't great. I guess these could be good for people who are very utilitarian about food, but I feel like that's where the positives end.
Mia you should make a video of making meals with these! Like the pasta your mom said with the beef and etc !! Love you 😢 see how they cook when making them into meals

Salt added before cooking will make sweet potato fries soggy but you can use it after.
I would love to have dinner with Mia and Mama Maples ❤ What an interesting concept although not sure I’d be into it either but then you have Papa Maples who loves it so 🤷♀️
Whoo, #31 on trending! Mia's content is so wholesome and you can clearly see the fun they're having!
Its honestly giving space food 😂
Space food probably taste better. 🤣
Mia can always be counted on for the belly laughs from edits and sound effects
I am so confused that this is even a thing. Who is their market audience? This isn’t appetizing to me at all. Even in a rush, I’d much rather have a frozen meal than these squares.
I would imagine probably more like people who can't eat solids. My mom can only eat pureed foods after loosing half her tongue to cancer. But she found a company that take pureed food and shapes it into the food. My mom likes it better so it's not like she's eating slop in a bowl like a pig 😅
@@bettyjane3321that’s a really good point. Nothing close to this had occurred to me.
Oh and I also have GERD so the no onion/garlic is a big selling point for me.
clearly they were thinking of Papa Maples when they came up with this lol
People who are short on time. Maybe even bariatric patients? I'm looking into getting a gastric bypass and you have a pureed food stage. I imagine this would be PERFECT. The servings are super small & it's SUPER quick
There are a lot of meme worthy moments in this video 😂 I especially love this part 10:14 😂😂
Were the chewing noises edited in 😭😂
as someone with a canceling noise headphone, i can't with all the mouth noise aaaah help
it would be perfect for me to eat before heading out to dance class but i don't have a microwave (and they don't ship to my country)
7:38 so it's basically baby food
🤣
I absolutely love your second channell
Omg, I have an eating disorder called afrid, I have issues with texture and smells, that looks like my worst nightmare you're so brave 😂❤
Mama maples mixing up asparagus toast and avocado toast was the cutest!
I was feeling so sad seeing your notification light me up a bit 🥲
Hope you're feeling better, sending internet hugs
For your sweet potato fries, they can’t touch while they cook or they get mushy! I figured this out with time haha
I kind of had a feeling that the vegetable ones would be the worst... I've never gotten any packaged ground up veggies that were actually nice. 🥦Entertaining video, but I'm a bit sad that you cut out the rating the best squares part, I was very curious about that!
The texture and visual of it would freak me out too much 😂
The amount that these foods have to be processed in order to be packed into squares disturbs me a bit.
The sound effects😨😩
Everyone has been getting on my last nerve, I had to leave the room to breathe before I start being just as rude as they are. This video came right when I needed it 😭 ty Mia and momma maples for saving the lives of everyone im my home 😂😂
The asmr of the chewing was almost unbearable for me. 😅 Super cool food idea but damn I could not listen to someone else eat it.
Someone marketed the pureed hospital food to the masses 😂 They must taste a lot better than those though!
The gulp I heard when Mama Maples opened her eyes to see the squares. 😂
Mama Maples….”It might be like cat food”, then she eats it….what a good sport
Hi Mia!! you bring so many smiles!!
Great!!!! Gonna be watching your video before sleep, great timing for me now ❤🌃
This was so fun to watch but I can’t be the only one that was grossed out by the squares 😂😂
Mia NOOOOO I'm watching this with headphones and the wet sound effects are KILLING ME 💀🤣
