  • In this vehicle tutorial, we will show you how easy it can be to test the functionality of both the trailer lighting and the rear lights on a vehicle. With our trailer test case tester, both the plug assignment of the trailer socket and the trailer lighting can be easily tested by just one person.
Fully functional rear lights - regardless of whether they are for vehicles or trailers - are indispensable for road traffic and for your own safety and the safety of others. That’s why it is important to test the trailer lighting and other rear lights regularly.
The tester replaces and simulates either the towing vehicle or the trailer, which saves you a lot of time and enables you to check the trailer lighting easily and effectively. What’s more, our tester is self-powered and suitable for testing 12-volt trailers.
In our vehicle tutorial, we will first show you how to establish a correct connection between the trailer and the tester. In order to test the rear lights, the user can display the trailer rear lights on the remote control provided when the lights are in use, or activate all LED rear lights on the trailer using the remote control. This means that the testing can be carried out both manually with the remote control as well as automatically. When testing the lights manually, the individual rear lights on the trailer can be controlled using the changeover button. The LEDs on the remote control ultimately indicate which rear lights are being tested. If they match the light functions on the trailer, then the cabling is correct. However, if there is a defective trailer rear light, this will be shown on the tester. Alternatively, the test can be performed automatically. In the process, the tester cycles through the trailer rear lights one after the other. This enables you to easily check the rear lights on the trailer in next to no time.
In addition to checking the trailer lighting, it is also possible to check the rear lights on a conventional passenger car using our tester.
When checking the rear lights on a passenger car, the transmitter is also used alongside the remote control. The transmitter is first connected to the trailer socket. Once the parking light has been activated, it is necessary to cycle through the remaining lighting functions on the vehicle. When doing so, it is essential to monitor the LEDs on the remote control to determine whether voltage has been applied at the respective socket connections.
As you can see, with our trailer test case you are ideally equipped to check your trailer lighting, the rear lights and, of course, the LED rear lights on your vehicle by yourself and without further assistance.
