The video we filmed with Amy will be up next week! I’ll link it once it’s up ! In the meantime, go check out all her travel and food adventures on her channel!!
Even though we can't travel at the moment, I thinks it's great how alot of vlogger's are showing us whats available in our own backyard. Let's take this opportunity to support our local business owners and embrace what we have right here at home. 😊💛
Burwood is amazing place to go eat out with my friends. Been there couple of times before COVID started so been supporting different restaurant there too. ❤❤
Great video Janice good to see you having fun with Amy me and my wife enjoyed this video a lot! We want to visit burwood Chinatown and try the Chinese beef bread and my wife will make me the pearl pancake sandwich! Woweeeee
Cool video with 2 foodie chicks!😎 Haven't had an opportunity to try Guo Kui but it looks really good, along with the beef bao! Was that a clay oven they used for the Guo Kui, looks like they're making Chinese Naan!
A collaboration made in heaven. Both of you are my favourite vloggers. Both are based in Sydney (Amy for the time being, until that nasty COVID-19 pandemic ends, and then goes back to China to do what she does best, doing foodie journals in China. China bound probably won't happen until sometime next year. Until then, Amy is doing a great job in Sydney). Janice and Amy are very articulate in their descriptions of foods and beverages for their respective vlogs channels. These ladies are the best and wholesome vloggers with awesome content every week. Two 👍👍 for both of you. 加油! P.S.: Janice, can you please pass this message to Amy. Ta.
冬菇/香菇 should be call shiitake mushrooms. 明天見是金針菇(Enokitake). Malaysia Chinese food usually is southern China style with localize, we are native Malaysia born Chinese . In Malaysia are food paradise , we have Taiwanese, Hong Kong, China , Korean , Japanese ,western , Malay , Indian , Arabic, vegetarian food.
Yum cha looks good. The pork spare ribs on cheung fun is normally served with rice, and it comes with one or two chicken feet. Now I feel like yum cha.
Thank you for another awesome vlog Janice hugh fan i live in burwood and i love getting food from Chinatown and eating in the courtyard its sooooo relaxing, thank you for your experience of burwood Chinatown
Omg - the stuff on your rice rolls is steamed pork ribs with black bean & my favourite yum cha dish ever. Usually it’s served seperately in the bowl it’s steamed in. Silver used to have a freakishly good version, also a takeaway under the QVB which is no more. Steph & Chris at Chinese Cooking Demystified have a great recipe which works perfectly.
You must try Lao-Thai food Janice! You can find them in Fairfield (Lao Village is the most popular) and I would recommend getting the Ox Tongue, Lao Sausage, Papaya Salad, Raw Beef Salad accompanied with their Thai Milk Tea and Sticky Rice
Eddy and I love Doraemon 😍😃 the 鹹水角 (Eddy calls it “the snippy thing” cos they get cut in half at yum cha) looks really good 👍🏽 As did all the various baos 😋
Chinese mushrooms? the dehydrated ones are Shiitake mushrooms. The ham sui gok pastry/shell is made from glutinous rice flour and usually has a slightly sweet, slightly savoury taste
Janice Fung Dorayaki is the favourite food of Doraemon, the humanoid android cat from the future in the comics. The "dora" in "dorayaki" is "brass gong" for the pancakes' round shape, while it's generally believed that it also applies to that in the name Doraemon, it really means "stray" as in "stray cat": "doraneko", but it's never been explicitly stated as such. The classic filling is mashed adzuki beans, known to the Chinese as "red bean paste", but this chain offers quite a wide choice. Love the collaboration with Amy, you should do it more often!
I really wanna try a guo kui and have my life changed! hahaha did not know about that courtyard area in Burwood. I haven’t had white pearls before, will have to try if it has less calories than normal pearls.
Next time try no 1. malatang , lovin lamb, and 1819 lanzhou noodles. These are my faves in Burwood. And for dessert hk Bing sutt dessert is legit just opposite westfield . Mango and taro sago you can't go wrong.
I always walk past all these restaurants. I definitely need to try more of the food there! Btw you could've walked into the plaza BWS to grab a beer ;)
I’m so late BUT here’s a challenge idea - Burmese Food tour (I only know 2 Burmese restaurants - one in Blacktown. Another one closed a few months ago) and I think there used to be a Monastery where they have a community event where they sold home cooked meals for funds
Had a lamb guo kui at A Gan Guo Kui in Burwood Chinatown today. Really not worth it at all at $8 - maybe worth it if it was $3. Liked the lamb/cumin combo but I think you'd get way better value for money from a Turkish pide
The dim sum house place is excellent - stayed in Burwood for a month once and I would head down there first thing in the morning to grab some dim sum for breakie
Hahaha love Amy, ming tian jian mushrooms are actually my favourite with ramen. Yes, overseas visitors to Australia pls do not go to our 7 Eleven apart from fuel, it is terrible nothing like the overseas ones.
love from China.....In China, many young people, people in love, like to go to such places.. It always looks very prosperous, lively and full of life, in Changsha, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong....chinese love the food and atmosphere... If there were more Chinese here, it would be more lively and energetic. 😄
Janice you lucky your channel is rated G, otherwise my compliments would be somewhat inappropriate 😆 You really don't understand how HOT you are, and how WONDERFUL your food and drink guide channel is, those 2 things ALONE are a winning combo. Your H.D. close ups of the yummy foods and drinks your never ending smile and bubbly personality, not to mention the top quality foods and drinks you show. I see your channel making BIG WAVES in future you really have something special here. Most channels bore me senseless bt yours is only one of 7 that have that x factor that can take you places. Can see you owning your own show on a major network
Janice, I normally say that you are so "CUTE", but with Amy your video is too "CUTE", or "TWO CUTE"! Then that is multiplied because you are in Sydney, talking about food, if I were 40 years younger I'd love to meet up with Ya'll and let you fight over which one of you would get to break my heart 1st or even which one of you would fall in love with me first! In all seriousness the food looks gr8, and for sure I'll check Amy's Channel out, Blessings on you both!
