Thanks for the wonderful video. I like you to treat the case and necessity of grounding PV string frames and the PV cable earthing at the indoor combiner box through an SPD while installing high frequency off-grid or hybrid inverters. I ask of this due to confusion regarding isolated vs non-isolated inverters with neutral to ground internal connection in the inverter.

I have 2 stings on my PV array. One sting running today at a peak of 249V @ 1.6A giving me 399w, the other string running at 272V @ 0.8A giving me 218w. Both stings are unshaded, one above the other and for some time I've had an issue with one sting under performing at 20% but now its 50% less. This video Im hoping when i give it a go will find the fault on my PV array.

This idea of testing strings is excellent, I have two questions regarding the calibrating of the analogue meter with the voltage divider. How do you set the potentiometer for the number of modules, can you explain this with examples? What is the potentiometer/variable resistor wattage?

Thank you for that,it really works very well.saves a lot of time.

It appears that you have built a test bench as described by Green Pro Consulting, would you be able to assist me with the following questions, I have two questions regarding the calibrating of the analogue meter with the voltage divider. How do you set the potentiometer for the number of modules, can you explain this with examples? What is the potentiometer/variable resistor wattage?

@@ecoinfo6708 I have only used the circuit to test for earth faults, which works well. So have no experience regarding the first part of the vid, which I found a bit difficult the understand from the accent. I hope Mr Greepro will elaborate it for you.

A schematic of your tester would be very helpful... hard to see from the picture exactly how your tool works.

It is a normal Volt meter. I then make up a dedicated lead that I use with a 470k-Ohm resistor between the two meter wires. Cut the leads about 10cm from the meter and solder a resister between them. It should be a 2W resistor. I then use it to measure between the two legs, and between each leg and earth.

What is the purpose of adding the resistor while testing?
