The origin stories Dr Catel choses to share in these videos are LEGENDS (or in some cases pure MYTH) and it's therefore possible that they contain falsehoods or are untrue. This is because there are no written records of the true origins. Various different origin stories were transmitted orally by different peoples and Dr Catel is simply choosing to share the ones that he finds most interesting.
Also bibliography and sources can be found in the description

You have such interesting content, please do a video on the idea that the modern African Americans have that the African people brought over as slaves were secretly Hebrew and Israelites. Africa has such a rich history, but they reject it all to steal that of the Jews. There is no Hebrew language or synagogues found in Ancient Africa, Yet they try to make connections where their are none. They claim thst Inri is actually Ivrit which means Hebrew????

Dear RUclipsr. The nupe people were not created by Tsoede. Tsoede rule over 19 nupe and then further tried to bring the other dialects together. Also the present nupe people are from the kush kingdom otherwise Nube or Nubian. The Arabs Ibn Khaldun and the rest couldnt pronounce the 'P' just as they call PAPA ''baba'. Nupe people are actually the Nubian who left Egypt and the Sudan scattered around the Nile river. That is why elements of pyramids can still be found in ancient nupe towns like PATIGI, KUTIGI, LAFIAGI etc Nupe culture can be traced down to 900bc. There actual records and citations to prove this. Thanks. And i love what you do by the way

@Ronu creative. Good job for these that you are doing to re-educate us Nigerians. Our educational system has never truly educate us to properly know who we truly are.
To contribute to the history you gave about the Igbos, you need to research more about the Uhturu Ancient Empire that stretches from Uhturu(In mordern day Abia State of Nigeria) to a part of modern day Edo and Yoruba land. Its now, more recently, being recognise as the first ancestral home of all Igbos as evidence there and around Igbo cultures suggest. Also research on Aguleri, Igboukwu and Arochukwu so as to know and inform the public about the true known history of Igbos.

Although African history is often rich with informative materials that give the reader insight into the way the people lived before the Europeans set foot on the continent. It is refreshing when natives share their history from their perspective and color it with words and nuances that are only peculiar to them. This effort here is no different except for the fact that the presenter butchered a lot of the pronunciations that if you weren't familiar with the locations he was referring to, you'd be lost and confused.

Heavenly Beautifully Black ,the jokunnu festival as practiced in T&T,and some other Carribean come from the Igbo,at least that's what the historians say.
Jokunnu comes from ji oku nu,meaning hot yam,or if you may,"fresly cooked yam""it is the New yam festival(Ofala) and is 1 of the,if not the most important festival to Igbos,it signfies the end of the harvest season and the begining of a new year,it is mostly performed at the end of the rains, around august.igbos slaves brought this to the Americas.it is performed by with masquerades representing the spirits of the dead and a lot of fanfare.

Nri was never a mecca of sort to Igbo land. Plus, there were other notable and more powerful states like the Arochukwu, Agbor, Onicha and Oguta kingdoms. Stop speculating and spreading sensational stories. The closest Igbo land came to a powerful state/military power was with the Aro confederacy which held both spiritual, commercial and military influence over most of Igboland and the Cross River region.
Actual history is not your strong suit. Stick to fiction.
