#Blackfriday #Sony #Sennheiser
Today we’re going to be comparing 3 of the most talked about $200 ANC headphones. We have the JBL E65BTNC, the Sennheiser 4.50BTNC and the Sony WH-CH700N. This line up is pretty interesting cause I feel there is no obvious winner here. And since the Sennheiser’s and Sony’s went on sale on prime day for less than $100, I’m willing to bet they’re going go on sale again on Black Friday.

I have the Sennheiser's and got them on sale during prime day. I am very impressed with them. I have a smaller head so there are no issues with fit, and I also don't get any cabin pressure feel.
Does Sennheiser 4.50 BTNC supports pairing with 2 devices simultaneously? Suppose, I have paired my laptop and phone with the headphones and listening to music in my laptop and if the call comes in the phone, will it switch to my phone automatically and notify me about the call?
@@kalpantumdi898 Yes I own a pair of HD4.50s and it does support multi-device connectivity no problem... It can memorise up to 8 separate devices.
Can you explain me what is latency and how is it linked with watching video over the headphone? I want to buy Sony headphones for watching videos.
I also have a smaller head so the size won’t be a problem for me. But I’ve heard that the headband isn’t too comfortable due to lack of cushioning. Is this true? Will it be uncomfortable to use for an extended period of time ?
@@messylittleraindrops3119 The HD4.50 is lightweight enough so the headband pressure isn't really a big deal. What I recommend is when they're brand new is to stretch them (ie: put them on the arm of a sofa or a chair) to help "break in" and stretch the headband for a couple hours. It works like a charm! Once they do you should be good.
This is unbelievably helpful since I was debating over the Sennheisers and the JBLs
@Name Unidentified lol
Skullcandy obviously. Or OneOdio
honestly, out of all headphones reviewers u are the only one that really understands my wantings
Got the sony because of your review and put the bass way up and I'm so happy now
How is the volume level? What about the bass? Pls help me
@@aaronrodriguez6244 man the volume is damn high and the bass is lit too, you should get that
My uncle gifted me the Sony wh-ch700n but how do you increase the bass guys i need help
@@aaronrodriguez6244 just picked these up this week, very happy with them. The clarity is better than anything I've used before (coming form akg y50bt and some old sony DJ headphones 1st gen I believe) and the bass is deep and rich without any distortion even at high volume. And yeah the volume is crazy good. I'm actually always surprised when I crank the volume up, they're even louder than some wired sets I've used in the past. You'll be happy with these. Very lightweight and comfortable for people with gigantic heads like me.
Witch app say please
Nice comparison, thank you! I'm considering the Sonys and I see they are well liked among reviewers. 125€ is a tad over what I wanted to spend, since I started out considering Audio Technica M40x for 70€, but it they are comfortable and will last, I'm willing to.
Very useful review! I like a lot all the aspects you went through. Professionally done!!! Thank you
Sony ch700n battery is awesome!! So far I just charge it every 2 weeks and use it almost everyday in the office for average 6 hour per day
I bought it because of your review! thanks a lot man! respect from Indonesia
childamnerd food food
I must have a tiny head and ears as I have the JBL and they fit perfectly!
Great review.
Thanks bro, seems like i'll be choosing the sennheiser
I have done a lot of research, thanks a ton for this video also, the Sony is the best among the three, the biggest difference is the Sound quality, in WH-CH700N Sony has installed Digital Sound enhancement Engine which Boost the quality of your compressed music files. When an original music source is compressed, it loses the high-frequency elements that add detail and richness to your favourite tracks. The Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) faithfully restores these to produce a high-quality sound that's closer to the original recording. The next Music enhancing feature is the Large 40 MM Driver unit so you hear more. I heard all three and I was disappointed with Sennheiser and JBL, there are not loud and i feel the Bass was missing, In Sony it was crisp and clear sound quality, you can hear the low and high beats which was missing in the other two headphones. A Must Buy product in this price range.
Agree, Sony is the best choice here. I can only Compare Sony to Sennheiser but it was night and day in sound quality among other issues I had with Sennheiser.
This is honestly so helpful! I've been debating between the Sony and the Sennheiser so your comparison is just what I needed!
Nice review. I have the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC SE which I picked up on Amazon for £90 during the Prime Day sale. I have to say I am impressed with them overall and happy with my purchase. One thing that I had seen regarding the Sony 1000 XM3 (when I was considering buying them) was that although the EQ app works, it defaults to the SBC codec as soon as the EQ is used. I figured the same could be said of the Sony WH-CH700N reviewed here?
Wıtch best ? 4.40 pr sony 700?
@@3mgang133 The Sony WH-CH700N has ANC. The Sennheiser HD4.40 does not. The Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC does have ANC and these are the headphones I bought.
@@3mgang133 Sony.
UK July 2020 the Sennheisers functions are the same but the orientation has changed. The comfort issue has also been resolved with the 'problem seam' now situated to the rear of the cushion. Also the Siri/Google assistant now works via the button closest to the ear-pad. The ANC button has changed, as well as the power/pairing button and light location. Sennheiser obviously have watched and listened to the consumer videos!!! Well done!
Thanks for you review. I just got the Sennhesier.
Ok so I have a fairly biased review on two of these. I first purchased the Sennheiser HD4.50R (a special red highlight edition) for $200 on sale in Australia, normally these are all $300+ headphones. I instantly knew something wasn't right when I connected the headphones, the interface for the voice prompts and beeps was so stupid that it beeps with every song change, they constantly drop out and back in on bluetooth and using a Macbook the headphone controls just didn't work half the time and the sound was very muddy.
Returned those and got the Sony CH700N's now this was a different story, they worked flawlessly, zero connection drops, no silly beeps, all controls work across all devices and they sound good (not great but good for what they are). The only down side for me is they do crack and squeak a fair bit at the hinge due to what I assume is cheap plastic compared to what Sennheiser use.
For me Sony nailed the internals of the headphones while Sennheiser had build quality down but the design does also suck on those, even more so if you're OCD because the Sennheisers have a tenancy to sit crooked on your head due to how much they swivel.
If you had to buy any of these go with the Sony and get extended warranty if you can for cheap. Then you have peace of mind at least with them. Also they have a great App compared to Sennheiser. The Sony App actually improves the experience but isn't necessary.
For $200 the Sony CH700N are quite a good pair of headphones. With the major flaw being build quality and squeaking (which is only an issue if you move around a lot or adjust them). Very small list of issues compared to Sennheiser HD4.50BTNC which I'd avoid.
I am a Sennheiser fan too, love my HD518s and GSP300's but Sony beat them here and this is my first pair of Sony's that I own now.
This is the video I'm waiting for! Thank you so much Gymcaddy. I just want to ask, in terms of sound quality only, where would you put the Audio Technica ATH-ANC700BT in the list?
How do the Sennheisers compare to the Audio Technica ATH ANC700BT ?
Connor Choong he should have added Audio Technica to this Review
Im pretty sure that Sennheiser said that you would get 19h of battery life with anc on and 25 with anc off but I might be wrong.
yep, this is correct.
Great review! Might be getting the Sony ones. Tho how are the microphones on it, especially for calling? :)
I have the JBL and i love the sound, the easy pairing and I love that you can pair it to 2 devices. But I hate the build quality and I regret buying it.
Saving for 1000xM3
Did the left driver/speaker break after 2 months? That happened to my JBL Everest 750 Elite
i think you should make another review which includes the Audio Technica.
I have the Sony's in this video. The latency isn't that noticable (for anyone concerned about it). The ANC is also nice but I noticed my Cowin E7 block out way more, but the sound quality isn't near as good and ear pressure is fairly high on those.
still make sense to buy the Sony WH-CH700N on december 2019?
I'd say go for it if you're on a budget if you got some more cash to spare get the 1000xm3
I did. And it was worth it.
Just bought Sony CH700n today, it’s the best on its price range. Supper satisfied
@@TheHeiji19 hi does them have so much delay watching videos ?
@TheHeini19
How is the bass of the headphones?
Is there any kind of echo in the headphones while using the mic? (The wh-ch510 which I have rn has that microphone echo...it works the opposite of noise cancelling)
Can you do the best budget headphones??
Planning to buy sony
Flex M planning to buy Sennheiser
So how are the sony and sennheiser, I am kind of torn between two
Nitin Birdi I’m gonna but them too because they’re cheaper than the Sony rn
Dude wonderful comparison and reviews. Keep posting more :)
I bought the Sennheiser's and they're great but I will say it matters what phone you have pushing your headphones. Some manufacturers have EQ's you can adjust for the fine tweaks to your sound if that's your deal when no apps available, not all phones are built the same either!
Great review! It helped me a lot. Thank you!
Try to level up the sound of the video man. Sometimes I cannot hear a thing.... It's frustrating
the problem is sonys leak alot of sound like you said in your previous video which i dont like cause im gonna go to school with them :/ do you think thats still worth buying them?
and btw the sonys is like 100$ sennheisers are 150$ and 2004 for the JBL in norway
thank you for the review :)
@PanDan Gaming what if you watch japanese porn?
Good job dude, thank you for the info, you made my choice easier!
Ive been through a lot of headphones in my life, and sony lasted so long, that i thought it would beat my two year best buy warranty... yet it didn’t 😢
i was so close to losing my money for a new pair tho lol 😂 sad thing is i don’t even try breaking them it just happens from daily use... 😓
Those JBLs feel good on my head. Better than the others in my opinion.
What about the noise canceling cabin pressure?
@@dirtyasianmafia2310 i have one aswell, and tbh i dont feel any cabin pressure, i can use them for hours without taking it off, though my sister saud it makes her ear fatigue after a while
Sir, I'm not concerned about noise cancellation, just want a wireless pair which sounds good for around 150 to 200 dollar, please suggest one.
You can get the sennheiser ones for 50 dollars less without noise cancelling
Sennheiser's HD4.40's are on sale for $99 CAD at Best Buy (Regular is $129) and have the same driver's as the HD4.50
Harman Singh ,buy Harman headphones.Harman wearing Harman 😁. Just kidding.Get in ear ones they will be easier to use with a turban on.
If you don't care about noise cancelling you can't go wrong with the ATH-M50XBT
Don’t mean to make you confused but look up the SR6BT audio Technica, truly amazing and they are at your minimum. The WH-700’s touched my ears with the drivers so I returned them.
I purchased the sennheisers and had them for less than a day before i returned them. They where by no means bad, however the head shape that i have must not have been very compatible with the headphones, as they caused me jaw fatigue, got quite hot in the ears and actually hurt the top of my head for some reason, making me need to move the band to a different spot to relieve my head. my head shape is smallish and circular if your wondering. I ended up buying bose qc35 II which is pricier but definitely worth it.
Just picked up a new pair of the Sony's for $190 and couldn't be more stoked. Great pair of headphones.
Feb 2019 review: best buy for $130. $10 nice case on Amazon. Super satisfied! TRICK!! BEND AT THE VERY MIDDLE TOP -- IT'S METAL SO IT BENDS!!!! makes them adjust to however loose or tight you want them. These are awesome for the price! I returned 3 other headphones and stayed with these. Highly recommend!
are you talking about sennheiser or sony ?
I bought the JBLs they sounded great but after 2 days the Noisecancelling just broke and made a terrible sound. This seemed to be a big problem according to the internet amd a lot of people.had the same issue. Then got the senheissers, the sound and Noisecancelling were nicer. After 2 months the plastic started to make cracking noises whenever i moved my head... so i returned them and got the Sony 1000xm3 which were better then both but i would say not twice as expensive better... but they hopefully these do not break
I'm very glad I ended up exchanging my JBL's for the Sennheiser, the Cabin pressure was unbearable and my skull was begging for mercy with such tight clamp pressure, I guess that's my punishment for betraying a great company like Sennheiser, it's great to be back. Sennheiser's were WAAAAAY better.
Good review .. plz can u do a review on the new under amour headphones..
the rock ones? Project one? trust me im trying but they're sold out. But they're basically a reskined E65BTNC
very useful review. thanks!
Hi, i have the sennheiser 4.50btnc special edition ... i just don't know if there's any difference between the special edition and the normal one. But (1) I find bass and overall sound quality better when anc is turned on.
(2) i don't find bass enough for my liking...it's neither less nor too much....
(3) they lack bass when connected via cable or anc turned off. It feels like. There's no bass.
Before buying i researched a bit and found there's no mechanical or electrical difference between special edition or regular. Except. SE costs a bit less. The colors on SE is completely black without the silver accents. And the packaging.
Please compare the SE and regular
Very detailed review. you did a great job.
Thank you GC, you have I think one of the best if not the best headphone review. Learn a lot from your review
Great Review, i bought the Sony before watching your video, and i totatly agree, but i have to say, the build quality of the sony is not that bad, it's also what makes them more adaptive to the head, and they fell light as well, the Sennheiser 4.50BTNC have a very small pad, for big hears it would't fit, both Sennheiser 4.50BTNC and JBL E65BTNC gave me hear clamps.
He is there any kind of echo while using the mic (like the wh-ch510 took noises from around and started to give off sounds like typing in the speakers)
Is the lag rly bad (my wh-ch510 satisfied me)
Does Sennheiser 4.50 BTNC supports pairing with 2 devices simultaneously? Suppose, I have paired my laptop and phone with the headphones and listening to music in my laptop and if the call comes in the phone, will it switch to my phone automatically and notify me about the call?
Yes they can connect to multiple devices at ones
@@robinnnnnnn22 and can they switch between 2 devices?
Yes, when you pauze/mute audio on one device it automatically switches to the other. Works great most of the time
@@robinnnnnnn22 But i am asking that, if am listening to a music on my laptop and suddenly a call comes in my phone, will it automatically switch to the phone ? (Assuming the headphones are connected to the phone and the laptop) Means.. do they automatically switch between devices based on priority or you will have to do it manually?
Yes I have one it works
The one that puts the sony up top is its aptx HD capability. In my opinion
Regarding adjusting the EQ of the Sennheisers, I don't bother with the Cap Tune app as it does not support streaming media sources other than TIDAL so you are reliant on local media only. Instead I use a 3rd party app called USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP) that allows full EQ of any headphones you have attached to your device and access to streaming media including Google Play Music . It also has support for external USB DACs if you want hi-end audio over a cable. I use this app with an Audioquest Dragonfly Red and whatever headphones I have to hand.
I am sooo disappointed cause I returned the Sony 1000xm2 do to the cracking headband issue. Best sounding bluetooth headphones I've heard. Could not justify the $350 price tag with only a 90 day warranty. Purchased the Sennheiser's yesterday but the 4.40 version sound is okay but they have a 2 year warranty. My $310 V Moda's sound better more bass but they are wired. Any suggestions???
I have the Sony wh ch 700N (since December 2019) and it's still a really great headphone the sound quality is amazing 😍 and it's really comfortable to wear for a long time (and yes i even wear glasses)
Thanks bro for this video big thumbs up👍🏻
I like your reviews but you really don't go into sound quality at all. I get the emphasis etc. But in regards to the Sennys and Sony's, the sound quality is way way different.
The Sony's have a much wider sound stage, much better bass, much better separation and imaging. They also support AAC which is a dealbreaker on the Senns part if you have apple devices.
The Senns on the otherhand have a much tighter sound, at times more colourful at the higher end but ultimately they feel so congested.
I get that ANC is important blahblah but how come headphone reviews really seem to just skip over the sound part nowadays?
After watching your video, went to the closest store to try the Sennheiser and Sony headphones. Don't understand how do you can't make difference in the quality of these headphones. Sennheiser has way-way better sound quality and noise cancellation, that's why the price is also higher. These phones are incomparable.
Senny's are the best, hands down. They make some of the best headsets in the world for musicians and producers, at a good value, plus they're still family owned. Comparing Sony to Sennheiser is like comparing apples to oranges.
@@JohnnyStrides If you don't trust my ears, trust the numbers:
Sony WH-CH700N - FREQUENCY RESPONSE 20 Hz-20,000 Hz / 97dB
Sennheiser 4.50BTNC - FREQUENCY RESPONSE 18 Hz-22,000 Hz / 113dB
And that's it!
Tóth Péter so go with sony?
@@tshessy2 when plugged in the frequency for sony's go down from 7-20k HZ
So in that case sony's rock. I have both and on bluetooth sennheisers for sure. But sound stage on the sennheisers suck compared to sony
For edm mostly on wireless which one should i buy?
Does the Sony driver touch your ear when you wear them? cause i've seen some reviewers said the earpads are not thick enough.
Yes but it isn't annoying or noticeable, I've had both the Sony and Senheiser and the Sony are way more comfortable and just straight better from my experience.
Doesn't touch my ears
Very good comparison. You helped me make the choice - I will buy the Sony headphones.
thanks! was super helpful
Read few after sales reviews on Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, JBL. Looks like first two have the best (Majority got replacement in a matter of days to minutes) while the other two are cumbersome. As I can't afford Bose QC35II, I am going for Sennheiser 4.50 BT NC SE
Was gonna get the Sennheiser or the Ch700n, but I was looking through and somehow found the Sony h900n for $83! If the ch700n are anything similar to these, it's a hard cop especially since I have big ears. The Sennheiser prob wouldn't fit too well with me.
How is the microphone on all ?.
Great reviews thank you!
Right now the sennheiser are $129. Are they worth it for that price now or should I wait for the next upgrade
Is the use of the smartphone app with the Sony headphones mandatory? Would they work fine without it too?
its not mandatory
thanks for the review
When’s the JBL Charge 4 coming out?!?
momentum are 190 now they are way beyond those three headphones you have compared...

Just wondering are bose qc 25's still viable as I can find them cheaper than these and dont really care about the wireless feature
How does the bose soundlink headphones compare to the sony in this vid?
So the Senns sound worse with ANC on? So no point getting them if you're looking for ANC headphones?
JBL e55bt (€75) or jbl e65btnc (€99)? Are they similar? (I don't really care about the nc) and is jbl live 650 btnc (€150) really so much better? And is it worth my money?
which better between Sony zx770bn and wh ch700n ?
Hey great comparison! I've been thinking of buying the 700N. I wanted to ask something though.
You mentioned the 700N has more latency then the 4.50 because of the codec. But I've checked the 700N also has regular aptx. So I could actually just pick on Android the regular aptx instead of aptx hd for better latency right?
Or did I understand it wrong?
Thanks!
700n is the best you can switch to 4 codecs aptX HD, AAC, aptX, SBC. It has great latency than the 4.50btnc
But what if you can just upgrade to sony wh 1000xm3 the price drop to 200$ it has 5 codecs aptX HD, LDAC, AAC, aptX, SBC. Ldac is the best codec in the market. And it has dolby support and 360 audio.
Thanks for answering! Nahh the XM3 is overkill for what I need lol

I select Sony, but test sennheiser too. Sennheiser not comfortable for me, because pads so big. Sony more comfortable, and I don't feel it at my head.
And Sony has more interesting app for phone, which working anywhere in different players . I get up only clear bass for 1 point. Sony NC has 3 different noise cancelling modes, you can select better for you).
