Does the mirror have one long wire to hang from? If so, you can place two anchors equidistant apart but center them on the middle of the mirror. So each anchor would be the same distance from the center point. Does that make sense? I feel like I didn’t explain that well. 🤣🤣
Hi, I have a 100lb mirror to hang. I am planing for a situation where there isn’t a stud, will using a dry wall anchor of 100 or more lbs work? What will you suggest pls?
@@Monica-fh5sl For a mirror this heavy, I would rather mount a board on top of the drywall that’s anchored in two studs. Then you can mount your mirror directly on that board.
@@ilyakulakov6484 Not at all. I’ve hung this exact mirror on drywall in 3 different homes using this exact approach. That’s 21 years of hanging on drywall without issues. 👍🏼
To hang a heavy mirror on a tile wall, you really only have one choice. You will need to mount the mirror in a stud and you will need a tile drill bit to make the hole without cracking the tile.
@@salvor1 I used the exact same fastener from the video on the wall where this mirror has been hung for the last 4 1/2 years. I used a similar one in our last home for 11 years. 👍🏼
Does not seem that secure. Clearly it is wobbling; you need to factor for someone accidentally staggering into it, and a 100lb wall anchor will probably cost and extra 50 cents, maybe a dollar. A French Cleat would have been so much more secure as it offers stability, and more then one dry wall attachment point: After all, there is no stud behind that wall of yours.
The wobble is from the mounting wire of the mirror. Whether I used a cleat or not, it would unfortunately have the same wobble you noticed due to that wire. 👍🏼
@@ReluctantDIYers I just hung a 25lb mirror in the smaller bathroom with 17” cleats. It is rock solid against the wall. There are 6 anchor screws into the dry wall. With that load distribution, the wall panel will probably fail before the cleat. The cleat width also permits screwing directly into the wall framing of most houses. Again, no flex, no wobble, and earthquake resistant.
Thank you for that loud and annoying music in the background. It really helps to give us a headache while we listen to you. And....that is just a stick-on goatee, right?
What do you think about the Walabot DIY 2? shrsl.com/3s8ls (or amzn.to/3tVLTQt on Amazon)
half the video is an ad lmao
LOL! Well, it was sponsored. 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm giving him a pass because:
his diy explaining is short & sweet
we are a capitalist based country
his t-shirt is cool

@robmaiker7092 Thanks man!!
Thanks for making this man. The instructions on the package did not make it clear at all what to do. Couldn't have done it without you!
EXCELLENT!!! I’m so happy that this was helpful. Have a great day!
Thanks. This helped me.

I wanna know how to hang it if it's long width wise. Do you need 2 anchors and how do you measure where to place them for wire hanging?

Use a French Cleat. It is just as easy to install and is secure: no wobbles and more attachment points.

That little screw outside of a stud is safe with 40lbs ? 😲
It’s still holding 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That’s unbelievable . I’d be worried though, esp if a child walk under there .
@@lizzyh5808 I totally understand. But that exact mirror (40 pounds) has been hung the same way in 3 different houses for the last 20 years.
I always get so nervous! I know it’s overkill but I used 2 drywall anchors for a mirror that was 8 lbs 😂
👍🏼👍🏼 Is it working?
Jesus literally needed the last 10 seconds
Jesus was watching? AWESOME!! Tell Him I’m sorry about the prior 4 minutes. 👍🏼👍🏼
Aren't you worried that 40lbs may be too heavy for a drywall, especially considering that all load is on one point?

Actually the first home was plaster. Totally forgot. So that’s 17 years on drywall. 😁
bruh ur a real one for this vid

How can I hang that same mirror onto a ceramic tiled wall without making a hole in the ceramic tile???

That mirror is behind a door. Once you open the door, the door knob could hit the mirror.
Thankfully there is a good door stop on the door so we’re in good shape. 👍🏼
Very informative!
Thanks Carmen! Have a great day!
Thank you
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching. Now go have an awesome day! 😁
The perv in me can't help but laugh when you say the mirror is hung.
