I also had abdominal surgery years ago. It took almost 3 months to heal completely and go back to work. ( Not Cancer) It takes time to heal those muscles.

@@zoidmo3388 - Yes, you are. I don't think you realise how much the abdominal muscles are used in everyday movement. Any time you want to lift something, breathe, sit up, stand up, lean forward, lean backward, kneel down, etc, the abdominal muscles are used to do so.
If the hospital kept her in for 2 weeks post treatment, then she would have had incisions as part of her surgery and it would have been quite major, and if abdominal surgery is major then the recovery time is going to be a few months. Throughout that time, the person is going to need help do to everyday tasks - they'll need to get sponge washes, help with dressing changes, etc, from a nurse.
It's also quite a painful recovery as well.
The public were told she would not be back till after Easter so why can’t people accept that and stop all this speculation she deserves her privacy

Why can't you understand difference between privacy and disconnect. The fact that she is not the kind of person who would not respond to people's concerns about her and still hasn't connected via a video etc means she is in very bad health condition. No one is intruding privacy. Privacy comes into picture if any medical details, photos etc are taken. Here nothing of sort is happening

I am remembering that there was an announcement made from the palace that she would be taking time away until Easter. Let’s respect her recovery time. Once she is back at work there will be many demands upon her. I would not be surprised that her hospital stay might be a longer stay than others having the same surgery.

Abdominal surgery is the most painful surgery coz their is no bones to support. When a patient coughs, they had to support their abdomen due to severe pain. I had a stomach op and it took me months to walk to bend and to put socks on. I could not bathe without help to wash and dry myself. Rest is the best cure. Love to all invalids recovering .

I had a hysterectomy done, vaginally, and even then, I was laid up for three months!!
This is a very intrusive surgery. Just because you don't have abdominal scars on the outside, does NOT mean that the inside is healed.

Removal of her bowel and an ileostomy or colostomy formed - a stoma, a hole in your stomach for poop to drain into an attached bag. / Total radical hysterectomy and oophorectomy / gall bladder removal, realignment of bile duct, gall stones removed - all by open incisions / pancreatitis with part pancreas removed / kidney removed / If surgery is done as Open Incision - scalpel knife, staples, etc and not keyhole, it takes longer, drainage tubes, catheters, etc.
Each of these surgeries that I listed, I have personally had done. The shortest hospitalisation was 2 weeks and the longest was 8 months . The shortest recovery was 3 months, the longest was over a year. Being in ICU doesn't help. Nor does it help when they deliberately paralyse your body as a pain control method, meaning from your chest down to your bottom, you have no way of moving. Tubes in everywhere . Nurses do ice block checks every ten minutes to see if you feel any thing. When they finally release the specific tubes that have blocked n paralysed you, it takes a while to move again.

My little sister, age: 44 had a Hysterectomy in January 2023 and is still recovering ❤️🩹 with many other complications: pain, swelling in her face, arms, legs, etc. Her new Gynecologist went back in a month ago and detached her bowels from the cuff put in by her previous Gynecologist 😮 It’s been over a year, January and my sister is still not feeling well 😢😤❤️🩹🙏🏽🙏🏽

Abdominal surgery takes a long time to recover from, it was 8 weeks after mine before I felt good again. It's nobody's business anyway so just give her a break instead of trying to stir the pot.

God. The belief that these people are subject to closer attention than many don't deserve. The lady has had multiple pregnancies, abdominal surgery is a very painful and complicated procedure involving several different large muscle groups that take far different ways of healing and being rejuvenated. To be fair, 14 days after surgery is nothing. It takes 36 to 48 months for repairs to reach even a medium level of repair. And to not know exactly what surgery Kates repairs were needed for, she's going to be recovering for at least another year. I've been in the medical field for over 30 years and the only thing that I can tell you is there are no exact time frames that apply to everything and everyone. Give the Princess time and peace of mind to heal. Damn that's more than I have ever said before. And I'm not even British !

My point was that no major surgery will heal in 14 days. That and my comment about 'The Royal conundrum about her whole life being in a microscope was unfair and in fact very wrong.' IMO

Doctors make you get up and walk on the next day after any surgery, and it's been already a couple of months. She should be well by now.

I had abdominal surgery with 47 staples, got up the next day but took many many months to recover!!

I saw this video, but did not bother to listen to it, because it is none of our business. I do not think Kate's surgery and recovery is anyone's business but immediate family and those she wants to inform. Abdominal surgery is very painful. I wish people would MYOB and let her recover in peace. And quit judging William as he is doing the best he can with what is going on with his wife, the impact in his family, and his father's cancer. Give these people a damn break and stay out of their business and quit imagining what may or may not be going on. The are human beings, and have the same respect to privacy as we do.

Took 3 days for me. I didn't go back to work for 2 weeks, but I was certainly walking around town running errands and living life. I did not stay inside of my house for 2-3 weeks. Who does that? NOBODY. The woman is missing!

No, she was not seen. She was not seen going into the hospital or leaving the hospital either. Neither was Wills. All that was released was a photo of Wills in a car which costs more than 150,000 - near the London Clinic and he had his Communications Director in the vehicle. Who takes their comms person to allegedly go visit their wife in the hospital?

IF you have every had abdominal surgery YOU KNOW HOW Long it takes to recover... mine was a long 6 months ! I had a Nissen Fudoplication... to correct a Hiatal Hernia... LEAVE HER ALONE ! When they CUT into your GUTS it's painful... ever step you take is like a knife...

My abdominal surgery recover was 3 days...... Ummm girl please - this woman is missing.

Try having all of your bowel removed, your anus stitches up, a hole made in your stomach for a bag to attach to for your poop to empty into. Agony. Drainage tubes. I. C. U. Hospital for at least 12 days if you're lucky, or if you're like me, you end up in for 43 days. Recovery up to 8 months

Princess Catherine is doing just fine, Im sure. I have had unexpected abdominal surgery, and if the Dr's say 6 weeks, they mean 6 weeks. You cant rush this stuff. What's odd? I'm older that Princess Catherine, but, in the middle of a Walmart..on a Sunday afternoon my insides twisted up, shut off blood flow and when I woke up I was in the ICU and discovered I was missing 6 ft. of my intestines and some of the remaining intestines are tucked in behind my breaststroke, and replaced my stomach area..Please, please just leave the woman alone. I think she's as fine as she can be at this point. She does NOT have to prove anything to anyone.

The word ‘hysterectomy’ has not been mentioned by anyone. I believe this is the surgery Kate had. She is rather young for this but my opinion, even though the Palace said there was no cancer, there may have been some pre cancerous issues and her doctors thought, because she probably was not planning to have more children, that this was the best option.
It is common to take six to eight weeks to recover from this invasive surgery. The body, suddenly without the organs removed, is in shock and needs time to adjust. Your energy level is almost completely depleted. Kate is not the first to go through this and she won’t be the last. I wish her a speedy recovery.

So what we don't know what type of surgery she had, it's none of our business. And just for time frame healing purposes let's say she had to have a hysterectomy, it can take three months just to heal with her stomach muscles alone. She would still need time to get back to 100%. ❤❤ Be kind, she gives 110% when she is visible.

Those who question one's comments regarding abdominal surgery fail to read that the person has had an extensive experience in the medical field.
I underwent gastric bypass surgery in February 2021 and it took me 3 full months to recover from the surgery. So leave Princess Catherine alone! She needs to rest and recover properly.❤
What do they put in the water for you guys to be such bootlickers? Kate is a perfectly acceptable queen in waiting but it an absolute load of tosh to pretend she has been doing the wash and sweeping the floors up until now. They have a staff of 60 and one full-time nanny that we know of. I am sure there is a back-up nanny too.

Leave Princess Catherine alone. I had two abdominal surgeries a number of years ago. The second one was worst than the first one. My surgeon came in the day after the surgery and apologized because he didn’t realize I had a couple of problems they didn’t know about until they were operating on me. Originally, I was only going to be out for a month, turned into 3 months. The doctor told me I could only walk up and down stairs once a day. He was also afraid if I slipped or fell due to ice or snow I could seriously injure myself. Princess Catherine needs that time to heal and recuperate.

It depends on the type of abdominal surgery one has and being fit helps but because she is very slender, there is no fat to benefit from in recovery . As for a face lift, she is not vain nor does she need to alter herself . She is happy within herself and doesn't fuss about looks. Speaking of looks, she is stunningly beautiful

A gastrectomy requires two weeks hospital stay and about three months to recover. But a gastrectomy is usually due to cancer or somesuch.

Whilst a fairly common op, it is not something many women want to broadcast and yes takes ages to recover from.
Some of the comments people write are wild / bizarre. It is so interesting. A boundary has been put in place ie a wish for privacy and some people find it hard to deal with that boundary.
There is a procedure now that doesn't require opening the abdomen to remove the uterus. It's called laparoscopic surgery, known as DaVinci. It's outpatient surgery. Surely if she was having a hysterectomy this had to be an option. It also has a much faster healing time, and doesn't leave a huge scar.

People who have never had major abdominal surgery should not comment. For a start one is not allowed to eat or drink anything - not even a drop of water - for up to at least six days. One has to heal internally as well, not just the muscles affected by the incision. If proper care is not taken there is the risk of septicemia and the patient can die. Hence daily blood tests are necessary. Patient is hooked up to IV drips for antibiotics and blood transfusion, also a morphine drip for pain relief. Also a monitor for heart function, ten minute blood pressure readings, pulse rate and also oxygen mask. Don't compare abdominal surgery to a back op, where the patient is allowed to eat and drink

It sounds like Catherine had to have a colostomy. Whether temporary or permanent, it takes quite a while to recover from this operation. Hopefully, if this is what has happened, she will have NO issues with her healing.
It's not for nothing that Kate was dubbed Kate-do-Little by the media, in fact, she was rarely visible until Harry married and gave her some competition. If she thinks she's being threatened by another Meghan, she'll soon appear in the limelight with three new outfits per day!

They should let her recover in peace. I've had 4 open abdominal surgeries. The last one had me in the hospital for 3 weeks and took 5 months before I could go back to work part time. People don't get it. Each person and surgery takes a different time and there is no standard time.
People need to understand that abdominal surgery means they cut into very necessary muscles which take forever to heal. I’ve been there and went back to work 2 weeks later and after the second day passed out and went back to hospital. When my tibia tendon was severed in an accident I was in a cast for a YEAR. What Kate needs is the time and privacy to completely heal so she doesn’t have a reoccurrence. And what she really needs is to be left alone and allowed to heal on HER TIME, no one else’s.
Please leave princess Catherine alone to recover from from whatever surgery she has had ..l admire her so much let her heal in peace God Bless
