All the vocal covers Alex did leading up to this song make so much sense, he incorporates so many different vocal styles, as well as his deep, demonic growl, and it just works. The blend of deathcore with hints of hardcore and nu metal was very refreshing.
Absolutely! Watching him improve over the past year or two has been incredible, he's got some of the best range out of all the metal vocalists at this point.
@@SeanStaxxMusic not only that but in Baba Yaga theirs more of Alex “speaking” and then theirs the chorus with some amounts of Cleans. So basically it’s easier to swallow then Agony and Demolisher. But for me I can’t pick a favorite out of those 3. Also if you’re a slipknot fan this is like Slipknot meets Deathcore. From the Clean singing, To the rapping, the beginning which reminds me of Surfacing by Slipknot and lastly but not least the gutterals which Alex does better and more lol.
Some references, that can be found there. Baba Yaga - in slavic folklore its witch, that lives in deep forest (word Baba or Баба in russian means either grandmother or countryside style of calling any woman. Thats kinda rude, but still), and in some stories acts as helper to hero of story, and sometimes works as "horror" antagonist, like she's stealing children and cook em in big pot. Also, btw, anthropologists, who study russian folklore also associates Baba Yaga with. How to say that. Like gatekeeper between real world and world of the dead, like clear origins of that character are somewhat unclear. In famous John Wick series John's nickname is Baba Yaga, altough she's clearly mythologycally woman, no male counterpart. So i can think that they either played on topic of either Alex acting as Baba Yaga, like some of russian lyrical parts saying, or he acted as killer of witch, because you can see, that body parts - head look like kinda womans head. So, he killed and they with boys eaten Baba Yaga, presumably. Also, interior in start of video is clearly interior of traditional russian/slavic home from mid-ages to even nowadays in countryside parts of Russia. One of boys also cooked some body parts in pot in start. So, thats mythological references. English lyrics and some parts of russian one are in style of "Im so tough, cool, dont cross way before me", etc. So i assume, thats probably reference to John Wick, like all that lasers pointed at Alex, tank, rocket launcher, bulletproof west. Also, scene in the end, where they play russian roulette - they all wearing russian gopnik, or 90-2000's russian mafia style clothing, thats why tracksuits with gold chains, leather jackets, etc. It is canonical look of russian gangster from mid nineties to up to 2010. Also, whole scene, i think, is reference to somewhat "cultish" russian dark comedy, called Жмурки, or Jmurki in stransliteration. I dont know, how to translate that word in context, because there can be serious wordplay. That is very obscure, gory and dark comedy about some unfortunate russian bandits and their doings. Also, i think, that song is somewhat collection of all russian related stereotypes, like bear, russian house, baba yaga (folklore witch), tank, rocket launcher, AK rifle, winter, bandits, vodka, russian roulette. But its not just like stereotypes, but whole design of video is not just make fun of em, but to make em look cool and stylish, so group definetely embracing that "folklore". Sorry for bad english and long post
Oh wow that explains the body parts! Lol I was confused on that part and didn’t know if it served a purpose or was random. I can definitely see the John wick references with the lasers and such. Thank you for that comment! 🙏🤘
Does everyone really have to write the same under the Baba Yaga reactions? @@alexr6913 actually, i have that post in txt file, and when watching reaction, copypasting it into comments, so, eiteher, reactor, or viewer of reaction can have some info without any problem :)
Great reaction! I managed to get the English letters for the Russian parts and it's mind blowing how fast he can go. I can barely pronounce what he's saying at 75% or even 50% speed besides the breakdown lol. He could be a rapper if he wanted to!
Since you’re a big fan of drumming. You HAVE to listen to Meshuggah - Bleed. That is probably the most impressive and complex drumming I’ve ever heard. Playing one rhythm on snares and symbols, and a completely different rhythm on kick drums.
You should check out thy art is murder some times. Personally I think it's a bit lighter and easy er to get into as to slaughter to prevail but still heavy and from the same subgenre (death core) Check out "holy war" and "make America hate again". Also there lyrics are very good and almost understandable :D
This track is great! It leans a little mainstream with the instrumentation/chorus and with that said I prefer more of the heavier riffs and unintelligible vocal material. The bear is indeed very real which reminds me of the extreme/shock value material of the late 90's nu metal. The bands showmanship/talent/skill is top notch as always. This video and music release is indeed new content which I believe is to be a taste of what is to come with the new album. For you personally I suggest keeping this track and a few other tracks from STP on your playlist for when you want that extra boost of energy in the gym or just feel like doing roundhouse kicks in the kitchen until you break something.
My man! Very nice comment and oooo if this is a preview of the sound/style for the album I’m super excited! Haha yes it’s on the playlist for that gym energy boost 💪🤘
Yes! We are Russians))) Fresh body parts at breakfast. Bear-fight at dinner. Bazooka shooting on tank at afternoon snack... And Russian Roulette at Evening Party))) And so every day🤣🤣
It is a real bear. Just whatch the making of xD Somebody said "This is the most russian video" and well I've gotta agree. As a german I'm proud of Rammstein and Eskimo Callboy but damn boii these guys are just germans on crack. I love Russia ^^
Stop pausing during the breakdowns. Thats what theyre called. Its like holding in a sneeze when you pause it. Or like giving yourself blue balls. STOP IT

Straight up is a real bear. You can find videos of him growling and wrestling with it as a behind the scenes thing
What a savage lol 💪
Thankfully, it's not a real person. I wouldn't put it past them though.

STP’s sound is growing on me more and more and I’m very excited to keep diving into more from them!
In demolisher react "this is too heavy to me". In Baba Yaga react "I'm putting this on playlist"
Lmao idk why but demolisher has a “heavier/darker” vibe for me than Baba Yaga. I think it’s the guitar scale/notes that make it sound heavier 🤷♂️
