  • In this video I will go through how to clip sites from Google photorealistic tiles that can be streamed into Unreal 5. You will notice that the google tiles are great for aerial views and use in backgrounds, however when you get close up the quality is very low and difficult to insert your own design. This is why the capability to crop and clip out multiple key areas and replace with other tiles or your own models is very useful.

I've been looking for a channel exactly like this, I haven't been able to find anything like it. Just watched almost all of your videos. Wanted to say thanks for all of your hard work and concise step-by-step tutorials, you seem to highlight aspects of the process that others skip over. Looking forward to more cesium/UE videos. I would definitely be interested if you launched a paid course at some point too around UI for navigating maps, showing/hiding objects, etc in Unreal

Thank you, very happy to hear that! UI and navigation for urban contexts are in the pipeline, with a few short videos. I may at some point make some longer videos showing how to make simple urban apps from start to finish when I find some extra time. Thanks for the support!

Yes! Thanks for this video! I was literally about to ask you if you were going to make this video. Great series. Using what you taught me on a project this week. Thanks!

Glad to know it was helpful! There isn't too much documentation on multiple tile clipping so thought i would make a video on it. Let me know if there are other areas you would like covered in future videos too.

You can package with cesium but you will always need an internet connection in order to stream the tiles as they cannot be downloaded or cached.

@@Urban_Decoders I know the internet need, but I only install the Cesium plugin and got package error and remove it then ok. I even not start to put Google Map in viewport. I use Unreal 5.3 and Cesium 2.3.
