Hey, great video! There is an old coastguard near me that i have been told from multiple people who has lived here has been abandoned for decades, it is a small concrete/stone property with rubble, graffiti etc and I believe it could be easily restored and used as a decent living space. Would this fall into government land (30 years for adverse possession) or another category? Cheers

Has anyone got the statistic on what percentage of adverse possession claims are successful?

Hi Rafe.. Nice video. Just seen your website.. this maps a game changer when looking for unclaimed land. Do you know what time frame an unregistered abandoned piece of land that probably belonged to British rail would fall under?

That'll come under Government Land. Be very careful, because the Railways Act allows the railway to compulsory purchase any land within 50 yards of the railway boundary. The other issue is that as soon as it comes out from under the Railways Act, it usually reverts to Greenfield status - no matter how polluted. Not a lawyer, just a 35 year railway engineer.
