Apparently a new spin off series centered around Wonder Girl was in the works. But there is some question whether Debra Winger knew about it and/or would have even been interested in continuing as Drusilla. So as with many other things in this series, the idea never went anywhere.
Good question. I know Debra Winger and Lynda Carter didn't get along, but whether she would have been interested in a series of her own without Wonder Woman, I guess we'll never know.
I know Debra Winger was done as Drusilla. But it's too bad in the 70s we couldn't have the Wonder Girl character continue with another sexy 'lil sister like Danielle Prince popping in from time to time. I'm guessing it was because they tried to downplay Paradise Island/ the comic book aspect.
I thought a good 1970s episode would have been Diana having to do some fast 'splaining when young Corporal Jim Ames now old Colonel Ames recognizes her and questions why she has barely aged since 1942.
This episode might have had the worst plot flub of the entire series. If the Queen knew Diana was on assignment in Hollywood, then obviously they were in contact each other. Remember later in the series we found out WW could "call" home using the Tierra. So why couldn't she just tell Diana to come home instead of having to send Dru with the message??
20:48 There seems to be a theme here... between Wonder Woman pretending to be shot, Green Hornet actually getting shot, and Batman not even having the opportunity to get shot!
It is so nice to see Carolyn Jones again. Huh... Warner Brothers is sprayed on the box Diana changes in front of... didn't realize they had that long of a relationship with DC comics. There's the Warner Brothers name again, when Drusilla's watching the frenzied mob of fans.
Steve Trevor is pretty oblivious for being a war hero. He never thought it was strange Wonder Girl appeared at the same time Diana's little sister arrived?
I think this would have made a good 1940s finale. Instead of returning to Paradise Island with Dru for the 2000th birthday celebration, the storyline could have been Diana, tired of waiting around for Steve Trevor, decides to return home after foiling the Nazis one last time.
@@dwashbur Then I don't understand your earlier comment. Tell ya what, can you let me know if any of the series suggestions I mentioned to you can possibly be viable for you to review? Thanks, I appreciate it
A little know fact about Wonder Woman. Back in the 60s William Dozier (the producer of Batman and the Green Hornet) was planning to create a Wonder Woman show. There is a 5 minutes screen test from 1966. The plan was for the show to air at some point in 1967. There is a 5 minutes screen test about this show that never happened. That screen test is probably the lamest thing ever. The name of the show( or working title) was Wonder Woman, Who's Afraid Of Diana Prince.
@@dwashbur Later she got a role in the movie Easy Rider. I think that's the only important thing she did. I found out by accident. I was watching some very old Dozier interview. The reporter asked him about Wonder Women. I was shocked when I heard there were plans to make a show in the 60s
A storyline flaw; at then end of the last episode with Dru, they pointed out the world thought there was only one Wonder Woman. But here everyone knows about Wonder Girl.
Do you perfer the 70s era or the 40s era or the series? I perfer the 40s because I like how they put more time into it, like keeping the secret identity, no reused shots, and it sticks to the comics with its own spin.
This series used the same actors over and over again. I wonder why they never utilized Beatrice Colen in seasons 2 or 3. I didn't have to be as Etta Candy.
2:10 to 2:26 Okay I know they needed a Segway into that but Jesus, as hollywood back then was just as bad as it is now, complete with union fights where they actually burned the studios down over them, its just its now flipped around and ripping its own head off in a different way now hell its even worse in alot of ways, as their firing just about anyone with a spine, and the writers, and even the good ones too, like left right or center, their F'ing nuts now also with 4:55 to 5:11 Jesus, talk about a nail on the head moment lol but careful, you might put all the hollywood people out of business who charge 75 dollars for their signature like that lol, like you wonder why they've been so angry about this whole no outside human contact thing, as if they werent isolated from the real world enough to begin with lol and actually with 11:04, what an enemy agent does when you do something like that is they stand in bewilderment and look around like John Travolta in pulp fiction and I am not kidding lol
"Drusilla"... Unflattering name for a beautiful woman.
I knew an Edith once, who was gorgeous.
When she got older, she changed her name.

My grandmother dated Tyrone Power when she was in high school. Or so the family rumor states.
Why not? At some point or other, they were all just regular people.

Dru must have really needed the ladies room after guzzling down all those root beer floats.
A driver's license isn't really necessary not when you can run fast with the speed of Mercury.

18:01 Christopher Norris, I remember her from Trapper John, M.D.
“It walks downstairs, everyone wants a Slinky.”
Yep, Slinky fun for both boys and men...

Well, he does work in military "intelligence"!

Or perhaps take us to the end of the war when her help against the Nazis is no longer needed, and then do that?
I forgot Robert Hays was in Airplane. He was the main character in the Starman tv show I told you about-that's where I know him from
That was also where I first encountered him.

Wonder Girl meets Starman! (okay he's not Ted Knight but still . . )
HA! I have been trying to get Irving to review the Starman tv show
The last (and one of the best) of the (best) first season.
Sad, the show lost its innocence when it returned during the modern era.

Can't. I'd lose my job, and since my wife can't work, I'm our sole source of income.
