I was 5 or 6 when I started playing resident evil 4. I remember watching my dad play all sorts of games like silent hill, Mario sunshine, windwaker, and command and conquer red alert retaliation. None of those games compared to what I was watching when he first bought resident evil 4. I remember being so scared to ask if I could play it, I thought there was no way he was going to say yes. To my surprise and relief he let me! I remember getting all the way to del Lago and struggling. HARD. it took me hours but I finally threw the final spear into him and the cutscene started playing. I threw down the controller and ran into my parents room to tell them my accomplishment when they asked if I was even able to cut the rope after. My mood immediately went away and I sprinted back into the living room to find my older sister MASHING the buttons for me so that my hard work did not go to waste! She saved my mood and created a core memory for me that I will never forget.
The dog jumping through the window in RE1 was my first big jumpscare in a game. I'd never really played any other game like RE before and of course I wasn't expecting it, just happily running down the hall waiting for the next zombie to shoot in the face and BAM. Now that I've played more games like it, they really don't hit the same way that one did, because I wasn't even familiar with the idea of jumpscares at the time. I will _never_ forget that moment!
"Hey, you got a band-aid?" should be a notification haha Loved this video. Just got to the end, and I am cry laughing remembering Bruce on the sofa. BRUCE! \oo/ hahaha
Never really played these games, was way to afraid! Seeing you guys playing them with all the inventory management "I can't take all this ammo or heals, because I'm trying to solve this puzzle that requires multiple objects to be carried" makes me pretty sure that I've never would have beaten it as a dumb kid 😅😅
My favorite memory was playing Resident Evil 1 Remake on the GameCube. I was just at the right age (like 10 or 11) where I was old enough to figure things out on my own but young enough to still be legitimately scared. I have the entire mansion map ingrained in my memory. A fun memory in that game would be when I witnessed the crimson head for the first time. I ran through a room that leads to the 3rd floor and JUST before I opened the next door the dead zombie rose up in a creepy way. I remember 10 year old me not wanting to go back through that room but I had to as I had reached a dead end. I remember standing in front the door that leads back to the crimson head for a couple of minutes bracing myself. That’s true horror
Mine is Resident Evil 2, when you start your second playthrough after beating it with Leon/Claire, then you see Mr. X just busting out the wall. I turned my PS1 off and didn't play it for a few years.
Man I love this style of content. I know we get a lot of these stories on stream but it’s really cool having this nice digestible video. I love you guys and everything you do.
resident evil is awsome i loved resident evil 4 its one of my favorite hope they dont screw it up like they did to the resident evil 3 remake more horror time with greyson too best of both worlds here
Thanks for watching! We'd love to hear YOUR childhood memories playing RE - what are some of your favorites?
Really love this format and this style of video! (This is pianistman, btw - I run a cassette tape label, so I rebranded my socials!)

I'm usually too chicken to play the games, but I love the lore and I love hearing you guys talk RE.

Resident Evil 4 has always been one of my favorite games. It was actually the first one I beat by myself. The others were with my brother and uncle.

The dog jumping through that window in RE1 got me so good. I turned it off and never played it again after that 😅

No RE 5 or 6 eh? Theyre not the best RE Games compare to the rest of the series, but theyre fun co-op experiences.
What happened to Re 5 and 6? I know they are not the best, but they still have moments in them.
We actually talked about them a little, but the convo wasn't too interesting so we 🪓'd it
