I was there many years ago, I walked about 50 yards into the desert and remembered rattlesnakes warnings and saw a jet from China lake pass over only 100 ft.
A couple of yrs ago I rode my motorcycle from Ohio to California. Death Valley was on my list of stops. Beautiful area even with the heat. I stopped at the welcome center and asked a park ranger if there was any tent camping sites available. It was 120 degrees at the time and the lows that night was going to be about 90 degrees. He gave me directions to a camping area that was in the mountains. That night I was looking up at the stars and every once in a while I would see a light go by. Thought I was seeing things at first after I saw it go by a few times. Too high to be a plane. Wondered about that the whole trip. I was telling my friend about it and he said it was a satellite. Which made since. Never crossed my mind that it was a satellite.
I almost went for a night drive back into the park when I was there, but I wasn't feeling 100% so I didn't. I'll definitely be going back someday. Amazing place. Like nowhere else I've been. ✌️👍 Thanks for checking out my video!
If that light traveled across the sky within ten seconds or so then it was a satellite. High altitude planes would appear to move much slower... just thought you would like to know...Neil A.

Luxury stop, jacuzzi huh 😍enjoyed the drive, good to see a bit of the scenery. You need to get you a sombrero, my friend 😅 at least it was dry. I find 30 and humid worse than 40 and dry. Cool pics. Picnic might be good if you fry your eggs on the pavement. Its amazing those desert plants even grow. Nice warning at the end, crazy place
Yeah, even 50 and dry is better than 30 and humid. I had a hat, but left it in the car as most stops were only a few minutes. Really cool spot, but that warning at the end was legit. Sad news from there last weekend really left me struggling to publish this one at all.
Awesome video! I rode through the Mojave dessert in July. It was 108 degrees. I was averaging 100mph and it still felt like Inwas in an oven. If I hadn’t had water with me I probably wouldn’t have made it. An amazing experience.
@@wanderbeard living in Florida as I do in the North Central area on the Gulf side we don't generally top 100 in the Tampa area but our high humidity is something to be experienced but not much LOL
Yeah, I've been to Florida a few times (most recently Ft. Lauderdale last year) and the humidity is so much worse than the desert dry heat. Even in Eastern Canada today it's 84, but the humidity feels like 100. 🥵
great video/ sucks about the bikers... i have done many rides thru DV in summer but you have to be acclimated and have a system/ stop constantly to cool off with ice and rags, ice in my lap and in my gloves, stop at the pool and swim... i got sick a couple times before i figured out the pool, all day long in 125+ is Rough... but the main one is External Cooling. cold drinks are not enough, water on your head and arms matters a lot. also got sick because i had shorts on/ the bike itself sends out a lot of heat that has nowhere to go when it is that hot/ got me big time/ looks like you got to see quite a bit of the Park thanks for taking us with you
Yeah, I took a lot of precautions, didn't want to get into a stupid situation that coupe be easily prevented. Loved the park and tried to see as much as I could. Didn't want to venture off too far into the corners on my own, so I feel like it was a great experience. Thanks for checking it out! ✌️
@@wanderbeard i often say the best thing about Desert Parks is that you barely need to get out of the car to enjoy them, you always have a great view and can stay safe
There are 2 sequoia groves above Kernville much closer than Sequoia Nat Park. With the one I go to(Always during the week) I've never seen another person there except those that I brought. Try that in a national park.
I felt like I had Yosemite to myself for the first couple of hours I was there, and Death Valley feels like that anyway, mostly due to the scenery I think. I hope to go back to the Kernville area in the future as I feel like there was still much to explore there.

Hi there, I hope these answers help with your questions 😊 1)The driving can be long hours, especially if you are not used to it. That one day of driving was almost 7 hours, to go from the first hotel to the second. Being from Canada, we are more used to the long drives between destinations. It can get boring, so bring lots of music! 2) The other two prices are US dollars (US$) and Canadian dollars (C$). I try to list the prices in a few currencies to help. 3) For fuel, there are lots of gas stations all over the country. In Death Valley, there is only one, so if you are going there specifically, make sure you have a full tank of gas first. The one gas station is quite expensive. But other parts of the US, there's lots of gas stations. If you have other questions, please let me know, I am happy to help! ✌️

I car camp most of the time. Once in a while I'll stay at the Atomic Inn, $90 a night, nice clean room. If you're not on medication or on a salt restricted diet get out and hike. I love hiking in triple digit heat, no exposed skin I'm completely covered up.
Hard to car camp without a cat (I was just driving a rental), and the hiking would have been the end of me, I think. I liked the heat, but I wouldn't want to be out in it for too long. What happened there a couple of weekends ago is a good reminder of how much caution people should have. ✌️
Did you pass thru Ridgecrest and Trona? I think I was at that very spot of your photo last November looking down at the expanse of Death Valley. I didn't go any further though. I was visiting a friend in Trona.
Wow, good eye! Yeah, I left Lake Isabella and headed through Ridgecrest, Trona and then north to Stovepipe Wells. I was planning to go straight up to Beatty, NV, but the sign (incorrectly) said that the road north was closed, so I had to loop around through Death Valley Junction and Amargosa Valley. Was an incredible drive, even if I was a little nervous about going through all that alone. Good thing I had plenty of water with me, just in case! ✌️
Depends on what you're looking for. I've tried the sit back on an all-inclusive, and found it so boring and couldn't wait to get away from it. I love exploring the world and all the things in it. It was the hottest place I've ever been, but I really exjoyed exploring there as well, since there's no other place like it on earth. 😊✌️

I was wearing one in most places, and you should definitely have one. Most stops, I was only outside for a few minutes at a time. 🔥🥵

It wouldn't be possible to even stand outside I don't think. It would be in the lethal range for wet bulb temperatures.
