After growing up in the gang lifestyle of the Los Angeles projects, 18-year-old Caine Lawson (Tyrin Turner) wants a way out. Everyone around him, including his unpredictable friend O-Dog (Larenz Tate), is trapped in their lives of crime and violence. With the help of his caring teacher (Charles Dutton) and supportive girlfriend (Jada Pinkett), Caine plans to leave the city for good. But in a series of tragic events, Caine realizes that escape will not be easy

I feel your pain on editing from copyright. If more channels was like Just Jammin, he ain't editing anything, save the work , time, trouble and just upload a separate file. Definitely a workable alternative besides beloved Patreon.
Yoooo Patreon is lowkey blowing mines rn
I dig your channel and the commentaries are lit.....hood movies like this, Boyz N The Hood, South Central and others have alot of trigger moments, but the life lessons at the end are impactful...I'm glad u chose to view these classics with an open mind & look forward to more of your content
Ayeeee I appreciate that fr gang
Nah your reactions be lit. I just wish there was a longer version to watch
Ayyeee thank you. I’m trying to get Patreon situated. So that y’all can enjoy. That will come soon
This came out when I was in middle school, we didn’t grasp the message, instead we all wanted to be O Dog
Facts!!!! It was fascinating and exciting but I've matured to realize odog is a psychopath......
@wcpir81 Maybe it takes being a psychopath to survive in certain environments tho. He was the one that survived when even his friend that was religous and wanted better for them ended up dead along with most of his friends. What would that do to a person? Especially seeing that happen to your friends that were about to leave and start new lives. Fight or flight. Some people would stay and feel like there is no way out and other people would run for the hills but if you were born into that environment and didn't know anything else, what would you do? Maybe go looking for revenge on the people that killed your friends?
This is true.... reality of our society.... this product of this environment may destroy other lives just for the fun of it.... killing 2 people in a store over what?watching the murder video tape for entertainment.... that could be you or me (ANYBODY) at the end of his gun...
I agree Psychopaths are created by environments.
It's heartbreaking that the cycle of death and violence is just a way of life.
Yeah people don't appreciate what goes into a reaction and the time it takes for it to be ready for public viewing. Don't worry I and many others appreciate your efforts in your reactions. Thanks for doing them and this reaction really enjoying it. Thnx Dagi.
Thank you gang 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 takes a lot of work to get these movies out. Sometimes I get burn out a lil bit
@17:45 Quik song "You Cant F**k Wit A N🥷a" is an Everlast/House Of Pain diss track his other song "Dollars N Sense" which is an MC Eiht(A-Wax in the movie) diss is classic one of the dopest diss tracks ever imo
Lmaoooo the song caught me off guard especially in this movie 😂
Your nose crinkle from laughing is so dang cute! 😂
Sis you dropped some good knowledge in this reaction video 🙏🏼☀️ Did you know that this movie was narrated by the main character. He was already dead and he was telling his story of what happened to his life. Keep up the good work‼️ Much love 🌸
Thank you hun, and that’s a really poetic way to look at it now. To narrate your story looking how you fucked up and you can’t come back now. I feel that’s a lot of peoples stories that have passed from this lifestyle
@@DagiTingz Yesss 🤎💯
I’m from ENY and grew up during the height of the crack epidemic. I remember always seeing fiends leaned out and vials all over the ground. So I can totally relate to what you were saying about how it effects other people in the neighborhood
Mannnn. I tell you it’s crazy. That’s why I don’t sit around and glorify some of this shit. Cause it’s happening outside my door
Your curls are so cute ☺️…take your time and pace yourself..the work speaks for itself 👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you sweets 💖💖💖
I respect and appreciate hearing your thoughts. Bless your sweet spirit...

@@DagiTingz : You're very welcome Queen.
Great reaction n love your voice. Hope your day goes well. 🌹
Thank you gang. I appreciate it
Naw fam, you deserve more subs fr. A great reaction. A great movie to watch for Women's month would be Dreamgirls, losely based on the Supremes
Trust me we gonna get up there. Just takes some work you know . Imma defiant check those out
I feel you Dagi. I've seen it much less often than other hood classics; maybe twice, and it's been a while. Larenz (Old Dogg) went in hard on that one 😳. The unpredictability and trauma in it are deep.
When I tell you I was not expecting this shit at all. You know when they do hood classics and there is violence in it. They try to add comic relief. This was crazy!!!
649
O-Dog not old dog..😂..lol
I don’t know how old you are but you have a good head on your shoulders. I really enjoy your commentary on these videos. You do a great job and speak your mind which is very important in this time period where everything is censored and people are afraid to speak their minds because they are afraid of being cancelled. I’m 46 years old and what’s going on in this world is insane to me. My generation,Gen X,growing up never had to deal with this shit.
I do appreciate that, I feel like my reactions are a little different from other people and no shade in that said. I grew up in the hood and I see what I see and also studied music and psychology in college. So it’s a compilation of things that contributes to how I view things. I know being unfiltered sometimes comes with judgement and I’m fine with that
@@DagiTingz I’m glad to hear that from a younger person. I think that it’s awesome. My friends and I get together once a week and I’m talking about friends I have known since grade school and through college which is hard to find because people grow apart, move, their agendas change but I’m lucky that I still have friends for almost 40 years. But we discuss the world and how things have changed and that a lot of these Gen Z kids are just pussys and are afraid to speak their minds which is a shame. I lived in NYC in 1999-2000 and I’m going to take a guess that you’re from Brooklyn maybe Brownsville,East New York area possibly. I dated this really cool Italian girl from Bensonhurst and her family was involved in organized crime. Her uncle got a 30 year sentence for RICO in the early 90’s. But her family was really nice to me. What I loved about them and a lot of New Yorkers is that they spoke their minds. I like that about people. I also lived in Los Angeles and I was in the entertainment industry. I had never met so many fake people in my life. I hated it!!! But I was making really good money and I did meet a lot of cool people as well which were mainly from NY and Boston. But keep doing what you’re doing. I think that people need to hear the truth and hopefully it rubs off on them.
4:44 I must've been 6yrs, pestering my Mom about her special orange juice. So she mixed me a full strength screwdriver, correctly assuming my sugar-craving child tastebuds would be revolted at one sip. I gagged, and she gave me a glass of real OJ as a chaser, and she finished the screwdriver. I never drank again until college. 😂😂😂😂
I believe the reason this movie is such a classic is that it was so realistic and mirrored life in the big cities during the onset of the crack epidemic. Even the scene where he was cooking rock was dead on accurate
💙 Great commentary
Appreciate that gang 🫶🏾
Fun fact: 2Pac was supposed to play Sharif but he backed out of doing the role because he wanted explanation as to why his character was Muslim but the Hughes brothers wouldn’t give him one. He eventually beat up the directors and they sued him for it
Lmfaoooooooo nah beat up the directors is crazy 😂😂😂
I heard 2pac lost that fade with the director 💯😎
@@DagiTingz 😭😭😭
Real fact... And Tupac won that fight

Boy odog was a crash out from birth 😂 I loveed your reaction tho 🫶🏽
He definitely was. Thank you though gang 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
You're 🔥in these!
Boyz in da Hood has a similar vibe. I'm from Brooklyn, but supposedly it was really like that in LA.
The school teacher was a real life gangsta, did a bid, came home and became a actor, Charles S. Dutton. Had his own tv show, "Roc" in the 90s.
When you're ready for some more hood stories, check out:
New Jack City
Above the Rim
Belly
Strapped
Fresh
Set it Off
Dead Presidents
For slightly less violence:
Sugar Hill
Jason's Lyric
I love your videos what did you make it with
I hella fw yo channel you talkin bout some ‘my smokers hit ts wit me’ i fasho hit my lil pen 😭
Ayeeee I know thats right!!! Need my lil smoker gang
Appreciate your reactions. I didn't know you were Jamaican. That's cool. One day I'll speak about my five days visit to Montego Bay but where I use to stay here before I made better. Constant prostitution and needles ,female sanatorium pads, offers for $5 sex trades. I told iam not a damn trick baby *****!!! 8 month pregnant ladies offing themselves for oral sex. Those days are far gone. Let's do better. ❤
Wow
Yeah this was a horror in the hood .. it use to make me physically sick .. but this is reality.. CLASSIC ! Laurenz was insane in this one lol
Seeing Larenz play softer roles before this had me looking at him like wth 🧐🧐🧐 what is going on here
The thing is, Dagi, is that the cycle of violence in America is never going to stop.
Oh I know that’s facts. I mean they say everything that happens under the sun has all happened before. It’s just a never ending cycle
@@DagiTingz So true, Dagi.
New subscriber! Great reaction!

04:44 "Bruh Man" from Martin show.
Great reaction ❤
Glad you enjoyed
When you start reacting to movies with Women leads i recommend Jackie Brown and Kill Bill. Both movies written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Every movie he made was classic.
Oooo yes, I just reacted to something related to Jackie Brown, Can you guess what it is 😏
Foxy Brown??
This my first time watching your channel and you New York af shorty lmaoooo I know that accent anywhere
Lmaooooooooo I can’t hide it for nothing
Ironically in the scene where grandpop was preaching to Caine and ODogg and they weren’t tryna hear it but they both had on crosses.
lol ain’t that something. They don’t wanna hear religion. But wear a symbol that they don’t understand what it’s about
This a classic banger. They pulled no punches. I gotchu on the bones, tho.
You know what it is
Since you react to this , you should really react to " city of God " its even crazier and its based on a true story in a hoodlum in Brazil back in the 60s and 70s
Yea this movie was something crazy
First off I want to say that you are GORGEOUS 😍😍😍😍❤. Secondly, I'm glad that I stumbled on your channel; you got a new subscriber. Yes, this movie traumatized the hell out of me when I first saw it, but it is a hood classic.
Thank you sweets 💖💖💖💖 welcome to the gang. It’s a fun time over here fr

“Red table talk”. 😂🤣💀

Ayeeeee wassup gang 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 Appreciate You Being Here
This movie had me crying when I first saw it
I can imagine. This had me so vexed
@@DagiTingz ya
I never cared for MIIS even tho it's a hood classic. I prefer Boyz In The Hood, however the reaction was exceptional as always. I appreciate you for reacting to these cinematic gems. You went from lovey dovey vibes to gang banging ASAP, lol. Also, S/O to New Line. I can only imagine as a creator and editor, how tedious and frustrating that process can be for you. Those strikes be some BS frfr.
it's wild that Larenz has been in quite a few films and tv shows, however he"ll always be O-Dogg to so many, crazy right. This and Love Jones, just classic work,
Couldn't agree more, I haven’t watched Boyz in the hood yet. I wanna see what everyone is blabbering about
Sadly this movie was actuate for its time saw this in a movie theater full of people who didn’t like each other it was silent wen it ended nobody said anything everyone just went home
Ain’t that something !!! I was really somber towards the end of this
Hey Dagi how are you doing? When are you going to watch the movie 8 Mile?
Soon. Everything I do is edited and cued up. Like I said in my intro. It’s a hassle to get things up on this platform so. I film and edit in the order I like. But trust me I definitely am gonna do that movie. Believe that
@@DagiTingz appreciate it 🤞🏽
I hear you sis. Strong woman lead? Check out "Jackie Brown"....
This is a heavy movie... the beginning is shockingly intense....
Odog is a frightening character...
Allen Hughes originally wanted Eazy E & Ren cadt in the movie he wanted Eazy to star as O-Dogg
Imaging Eazy in this movie playing O -Dogg that woulda been crazy
YASSSSS curls 😍😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yassss honey. All day. Curls for the Girls straight on this channel
Although Ilena called Caine about her pregnancy and he denies paternity and rejects her. The Hughes Brother revealed that Ilena was lying the whole time. Her character would scam guys for abortion money. One of the several problem with the script.
Im dying laughing at the reactions.
Lmaooo I’m glad you’re enjoying them fam
20:04 how you giving a speech holding a vape full of juice from THE DEVIL'S LETTUCE? I know that's a marijuana vape pen! I have kids!
Nah, I'm iust kidding. 😂
O-Dog was a crazy dude!!!
Odeee crazy
This movie is definitely a message. Especially because the whole movie is just Caine's life flashing before his eyes. Basically, He was already dying throughout the whole movie, and then we see him fade out in the final scene
Which is so crazy to think about and know now that I’ve reacted to it
26:17 i feel you
27:01 Im surprise u didnt break down
thought i was gonna se a full make up break down
Yeahhhhh I’m a lil gangsta. It takes alot for me to cry really. The only time I cry is like childbirth and weddings I guess. Welllll I have cried with certain scenes of greys anatomy but I think it has to with the story that gets me in my feelings.
Growing up back then it was all about being more crazy than the next guy that's just the way it was
Damn my guard would be up all the time. That stuff is stressful
Where shorty from? Can’t tell if it’s NY or Toronto
NY beloved
The Foxbody Mustang was my favorite of this movie
You should totally react to some female lead action movies like a long kiss goodnight Salt With Angelina Jolie Atomic Blonde Colombiana Cleopatra Jones & the 2000s Charlie's Angel movie
Definitely gonna check those out
Don't forget Set It Off
Don't forget Set It Off
Oh shit Bruh Man from MARTIN 😂😂
I almost didn’t recognize him
Classic movie this movie took the hood movies to a whole new level from Boys in the Hood I have to say Cain not only he grew up in the environment but he was born into it his father was a dope dealer and mother a heroin addict and big homie who gave him his first beer at 6 who taught him the ins and outs of the dope game
Very true. I just thought he would’ve been good after he got raised by his grandparents. He coulda made it out
@@DagiTingz Facts and he also had some good homies like Stacy and Shareef who wanted him to leave the hood and come to Kansas and Ronnie who pushed him to leave for Atlanta with her and Anthony, his grandparents tried but it was all about religion teaching which never reached him but Shareef father Roc had him thinking about his future with his wisdom

Yeah i was disturbed when i first saw this, i was more bothered by the reaction of my friend at the time who didn't get the point of the film and thought it was cool.
Yeah like it’s totally normal to see that this shit is beyond just guys in the hood on some regular shit. People ain’t paying attention
That's exactly how it was when I was growing up in Brooklyn. Kicking needles out the way so we can play ball.
Isn’t that crazy. This what I see in my neighborhood now
DJ Quik
The first time I had alcohol I was 20 years old I had margarita, 2 long Island ice teas with tequila, rum, vodka
Ooooo wow you went all out
As a GenX black woman I grew up on these movies and music unfortunately as a 80's & 90's kid. I have a 12 year old daughter that I am raising so differently. She's homeschooled and in martial arts classes. I don't approve of the Black community and it's dysfunction or victim mentality. I am about healing the trauma. I don't want my daughter dealing with these mess. I don't trust anyone including family members. I don't bring men around my daughter. Even though I have a son who's 25 I made a lot of mistakes as a parent and should have done things differently with him. It was like when the dysfunctional community knew that my son was going in a different direction they would call him a nerd or a sell out and I let it happen, I let them vultures in & my child got on drugs (not just weed) thank goodness he's been sober for over a few years and building his life now but this is what happens when you deal with dysfunctional people who you call your community. Now my life has cut off almost everyone I have dealt with. I'm building my own family. Menace II Society was great for entertainment but was imitating real life.
Yessssssss!!! It’s about not repeating cycles. Trust me I understand how trauma and generational curses can extend into the bloodline. I unfortunately had to go through it too. So when I become a parent. I don’t want my kids to make the same mistakes. I really want a healthy environment. And it’s okay mama bear. You did the best you could. Everything ain’t perfect nor easy. But atleast you recognized where the problems were.

The unfortunate fact about this movie
Is that it was an ugly reality of what literally went on everyday in the lives of us black men in the inner city (genX)
We where shaped and raised differently and they wonder why we many of us brothers from the hood from that generation are the way we are and look at the youth of today like yall are spoiled 😂😂😂
Listen. I know our people were going through it. But one thing I can tell you is. History repeats itself beloved. Our generation are afforded more opportunities but if you think lawlessness ain’t happening right now the same way it was then. Trust me it is. I grew in the hood. Still in the hood. It’s just more psychotic now. I wouldn’t wanna grow up in this generation if I had the chance to chose. You will not believe the shit I’ve had to endure. Even in school. So there’s a lesson in that
