Great to see Annette on our screens again, terrific actress, still love to watch her with Richard Wilson in what I consider one of the very best sitcoms of all time _One Foot in the Grave._ Her anguished groans at Victor always had me in stitches! Also, a plug for the very excellent _One Foot in the Podcast_ on most platforms,...
I have a cousin that is 102. She keeps saying she doesn't know why she's living so long. She's had a good life and she's ready any time... But here she is... Still above ground, blind in one eye and pretty deaf. She's done most of what she's wanted to do. But her family loves her. And she loves them. I guess that's sometimes all there is.
To watch Annette Crosbie, who played the quiet, patient long-suffering wife of Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave, swear like a trooper, is simply brilliant.
_'I...Don't...Be...!'_ Always found it funnier when he cut himself off! Just started binge listening Tom, I know I'm a little late but still very enjoyable! Started only a couple of weeks ago, listened to all eps and specials and already up to your interview with the great D. Renwick! And loved your interviews with Wilson, Mantle et all. Great podcast mate. I think we're 'around' the same age (42), and I think you were very right when you pointed out to Richard that his original misgivings were thankfully ill-founded, clearly given that many fans nowadays are our age, it was watched by a very young audience at the time! In fact I can even remember quoting Victor in the playground with my chums at the time...him and Lister and various Fast Show characters anyway! I wish it were _Scorchio_ right now 🤣
Oh now this is hilarious 😂. I know now what my goal in life is. I aspire to be the male equivalent of her, a moaning old bastard that’ll live to 287 and still have bugger all good to say 😂. Love it!!!
Such a funny scene. This is me at 23 already. Bed ridden for 8 months with PPPD and at the beginning of a recovery plan. Sometimes I'd rather just not bother anymore 😅
That lady is actress Annette Crosbie, She has played so many parts and been working since the 1950's, She was Victor Meldrews wife in One Foot In The Grave.
I don't like to see Annette Crosbi swear. I don't swear, it allows you too much freedom with what you are allowed to say. That freedom can undo you, and cause problems in the world. We should hold ourselves together with rules that create equality through humanity. In Heaven the equality has to be agreed by everyone... of course you can have a swearing section in Heaven, but already you are creating a sectioned world. I would have an alphabetic Heaven sectioned into 26 parts, but be careful which section you end up in.

When you turn 100 you get a telegram from the King, but people don't often remember that when you turn 13 you get a text from Prince Andrew
😂😂😂😂. Crazy huh?
Is that Rupaul's Drag Race joke? Anita Wiglit?
I’m amazed he waits that long!
That is gold !
this is so accurate 😂😂😂

I’d love to see the outtakes from this - you can see Gervais just about holding it together as it is! Hahaha
That “take a picture” always gets me hahahah
Honestly think this is best ever scene in a UK comedy scene 🤣🤣
Annette Crosby was superb in this scene😂😂
Fuckin right.
Ech, don't like how they made her curse like a sailor
Brilliant work I bet they were in hysterics filming this scene
@@joeperry1002 they didn't MAKE her do anything, she has a choice, and thankfully she picked the right one. Fucking brilliant scene.

Fantastic having Annette in this - representing One Foot. Spoke a lot about this on the One Foot podcast.

@British Wrath Annette Crosbie is very much still with us!
Just fantastic . Bollocks!
I wonder what Annette thought when she read the script lol
Probably made some remark about Richard Wilson.
I don't believe it, lol
Mr’s Meldrew finally turned into Victor 😂

This sounds exactly like my mother.
She is fantastic
One of the funniest bits😂
I feel like this definitely what happened to Margaret after Victor died.
I can't believe it(!) the woman from One Foot In The Grave, I didn't realise until i'd watched it 20 times

Hey, how you doing now? Feeling better? Hope you're OK xx
Woh. Margaret Meldrew.
Casting against type ... very funny, brilliant casting decision. I’m happy Annette Crosby agreed to do this,
I feel he can relate to her lol
Almost, exactly sums up how I feel daily, however and unfortunately, I still potentially have a long sentence ahead to repeat the sentiment
No fucking words for this scene..
Margret’s best performance lol i
If I'm not mistaken, that lady played Bill Bailey's mom in Black Books.
Cheers from France!

Victor Meldrews wife alright 😅
Margret's obviously lost the plot a bit since Victor died!!
