In this tutorial our instructor Boris goes through the top 9 updates in Live 12 which allow you to more efficiently program drum patterns. We get started with chopping on grid, which is a very useful feature - just like "join notes" and "chop on drag". The newly updated quantization section is a great addition too. Other features include "time warp" and "velocity ramp" for shifting multiple MIDI notes in time or manipulating velocities linearly for buildups. Finally, we're taking a look at the biggest update - the generative tool called Rhythm. Let's get started!
0:00 Introduction
1:05 Chop on grid
2:10 Join notes
2:50 Chop with drag
3:25 Quantization
5:00 Even slicing
6:00 Time warp
6:50 Velocity ramp
7:20 Extend to time range
8:05 Rhythm generator

Great knowledge, would love the same video but on polymeters
Any way to raise the minimum velocity and lower the maximum? Like to change the difference between them
The MIDI plugin ”Velocity” can do exactly that! It’s awesome!
Your vids are straight, focused, filled with good information. Thanx alot for your work! 🙏. PLEASE.... can you leave the background music out? Its SO disturbing! People who are watching here are looking for information, not for entertainment. ... At least I 😌
Have Ableton's piano roll surpassed the best ones now?
Fl is still inbeatable (coming from an ableton user)
@@timalright Ableton user here too. Think the same. But the last update (12.1) is really, really stepping up. I think it's gonna catch up pretty soon
FL STudio user, but Ableton has beaten FL right now. I mean, lets talk about the new MPE modifiers alone in 12.1. FL can't even do MPE.
Your name is boreeez or you spelled it wrong
