2024. május 26-án lesz 44 éve, hogy Farkas Bertalant és Valerij Nyikolajevics Kubaszovot kilőtték a világűrbe egy Szojuz hordozórakéta fedélzetén. Farkas Bertalan az Interkozmosz program által jutott első magyarként a világűrbe, így a magyar a hetedik nemzet lett, amelynek képviselője az űrbe jutott.
Leonyid Brezsnyev. szovjet pártfőtitkár, a Szovjetunió Legfelsőbb Tanácsa Elnökségének elnöke a Kremlben adta át Valerij Kubaszov és Farkas Bertalan űrhajósoknak a kitüntetéseket, amelyeket a Szovjetunió Legfelsőbb Tanácsának Elnöksége a közös szovjet-magyar űrrepülés során tanúsított hősiességükért és bátorságukért adományozott. Valerij Kubászovot, a Szovjetunió kétszeres hősét a Lenin-renddel, Farkas Bertalan kutató űrhajóst a Szovjetunió Hőse címmel, Lenin-renddel és a Vörös Csillag Érdeméremmel tüntették ki. On May 26, 2024, it will be 44 years since Bertalan Farkas and Valery Nikolayevich Kubasov were launched into outer space aboard a Soyuz launch rocket. Bertalan Farkas became the first Hungarian to reach outer space through the Interkosmos program, so Hungarians became the seventh nation whose representative reached space.
Leonid Brezhnev. the Soviet Party General Secretary and the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union handed over medals in the Kremlin to astronauts Valery Kubasov and Bertalan Farkas, which were awarded by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union for their heroism and courage during the joint Soviet-Hungarian space flight. Valery Kubasov, a two-time Hero of the Soviet Union, was awarded the Order of Lenin, while research astronaut Bertalan Farkas was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, the Order of Lenin and the Red Star Medal.
