    16:00 Very gracious compliment. I owe much of my success to you, so thank you. I enjoyed hearing your insights about your 2025 plans. Your initial comment about this being a "quick and easy" video that ended up being 24 minutes long reminds me of the Mark Twain quote: "I didn't have time to write you a short letter, so I wrote you a long one." And for what it's worth, I do like the RUclips shorts. I totally get it, though, about them not being profitable. I would be curious if they draw in new subscribers. I'm kind of addicted to RUclips shorts in general, and probably need to make a resolution to stop wasting so much time on them!

      Good point about the shorts being addictive and an easy way to waste time. That's actually one of the reasons I was initially apprehensive to starting them. I don't like the whole tiktok/shorts era of social media due to their side effects of killing attention spans. But I felt like I'd be missing out not doing it as a creator. Now after uploading so many I'm not sure what I'm missing out on😆 they don't bring in nearly as many new subscribers as the long videos do for me

    I get really inspired & learn more from your longer videos. Shorts do not work for me. Best wishes for all your goals to make you even more successful! Love your Channel!

    Happy New Year, Philip! I hope you had a great holiday! Thank you for sharing your plans for 2025. This made me rethink a couple things as well. As for shorts, I truly love them WHEN I think about going to view them. I do think I personally receive more benefit from the longer videos and especially yours. Thank you for taking your time to help us grow and better ourselves!

    I am SO irritated that Amazon hasn’t done a tier up in months. I’d love to add more designs, but am limited. I know I’m not alone in my frustration. Happy New Year!! Hoping it’s a profitable one for us all. 🎉

    I'm just opening my pod store on my own site in the next few days.
    How many designs do you recommend having on the store before I open it for the potential buyers?
    Also, do you recommend uploading every new design I make right away or once every month lets say upload a couple of new designs together?

    I liked the video shorts, they were useful for getting little snippets of advice when I didn't have the time to watch a full video. It doesn't sound like they are worth the time and effort involved though, unless they are bringing in new subscribers.

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  20 дней назад +1

      Relatively speaking they don't bring in many new subscribers either. So whilst they've been fun to make and fun to watch for some, they don't really move the needle anywhere🤔 thanks for the feedback!

    I put up a couple of tumblers and the line up review came up so out of whack. No matter how many times I tried to fix it thinking it was my fault. So I finally contacted CS and she said they would have their internal systems work on it. Plus, I have a ton of really old crappy designs I put up a looooong time ago still processing. So I have to send them asins, titles, ect. Of which ones. Phew sometimes I wonder if this is worth it. I must be a crappy designer because I barely get any sales on my new ones. Maybe one or two which are so far and few in-between, if ever. Good vid....I was feeling the same things as you.

    Hey Philip, the shorts are sort of like "Trailers".. do you have to monetize them? Have them point to the Long Form video but even easier, and more obvious, (maybe?) - Anyway, all good stuff, as always, and Good Luck! 💥 Boom! 2025

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  19 дней назад +1

      I appreciate the ideas thank you! I've been doing that a lot lately with the call to action and arrows to show people where to click but it doesn't really make any difference if the shorts get little views. It's not just about the monitisation otherwise I would have stopped doing them a long time ago but there's just no measurable benefit. They just use up a bunch of my time and money😆

      @@PhilipAnders I hear ya! Odd how your audience works then… I mean most “clips” get all the eyeballs 👀 and not many actually watch the long form. In your case, you’re possibly dropping clips they’ve already watched.. Ive had that happen on my feed. Anyway, I’m v.interested in your Shopify endeavors with Chris…

    On shorts, good call. I think it’s VERY hard to do them in how-to formats in a way that captures a viewers attention. The channel “Rishi Draws” is the only one I have seen do it successfully other than food recipes. Shorts are less “how-to” and more “story/lesson-learned”. At least based on my feed. Although…Milo could make a killing if he had his own channel 🤣

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  19 дней назад +1

      Haha I've been doing it wrong all along. I should have just let Milo do all the shorts and make a killing you're right😆😂

    So they messed up the display colors. Is there a way we can set or reset them? I always thought it was just what you selected first and you assume that’s what it does when it posts.

    Wasn’t it even one of your shorts where you told that Displate opened their doors again? I NEVER would’ve known without THAT one 😅 but yeah, if the shorts aren’t useful for you, ditch them. I personally watched a few, but always thought they were excerpts of some of your longer videos, so I‘d rather watch them than the shorts tbh

    I hate shorts. Almost never watch them. The only shorts I do watch is knot tying shorts if there is no full video available. The shorts are terrible for watching on a computer. They have less functionality than normal videos, they have the really annoying thing of if you barely scroll up or down they flick to another random video. Shorts are RUclips's pathetic attempt to compete with Tiktok which is a platform built specifically for that format. RUclips pushed shorts to creators with incentives, and pushed to viewers with prominent spots on their home and search pages. But they are a waste of everyone's time in my opinion and the sooner RUclips just gives it up the better. I avoid RUclips as much as possible, if creators have their content on Odysee (preferred) or Rumble I will watch there first before RUclips.

    • @PhilipAnders
      @PhilipAnders  9 дней назад

      yeah I agree with pretty much all you said. I wish shorts never became a thing on youtube, they are just annoying in most cases
