I consider this witness one for the prosecution not the defense. This guy felt betrayed and enraged that he had to pay out of his own pockets to cover the millions of dollars that he stole. You can tell he more than likely thinks he did it. He helped the prosecution not the defense.

Oh I agree. But it is a far cry away from murdering his loved ones. So that in itself bothers me as there is more focus on money and not the actual killing of them. A lot of people lie and steal. Doesn't say/prove murder.

@meggieoneill7084 True, but Alex also lied to this witness about being in the dog kennels minutes before murder. So Alex didn't just lie about money to this witness, but also about his alibi. That's what makes it a lot more important.

Someone briefly touched upon (while testifying) there'd been a house fire (in the past) at one of the Murdaugh's homes. (It might have been Buster). I wonder what the particulars were surrounding the fire. When I see a character like AM, anything that's out of the ordinary makes me suspicious. It stands to reason.

I honestly don’t think it’s fair to throw those extras in there like they’ve been murdered or something and the family are to blame.
Mallory got in a boat that she knew everyone was drinking in, no, it was not her boat and therefore holds no blame but we’re blamed for every other stupid decision we make while drinking why is it that she’s a victim of her own choices as well? I get it people are going to be made to pay but also Gloria was still alive for nearly two weeks at the hospital, Maggie called 911, if you attempted to kill her wouldn’t you make sure she was dead first? Also they got justice, they were paid out… 🙄
Also there’s no evidence whatsoever that Buster or anyone else killed Stephen.
They’re all being thrown in this pot as though the family are a bunch of serial killers or something..

I’ve got a completely different view of when Alex would take his “kids or wife’s” casual phone calls during depositions-or during important partner meetings, it’s actually inappropriate, and the opposite of being a “great dad” it’s arrogance to assume everyone in the room doesn’t have things to do or need to be focused on the victim and their client- it’s not ethical when you are billing clients hourly. Bottom line, I’ll bet 99% of those calls weren’t really his kids but he pretended- convinced others who was on the other end, more likely it would be his personal bankers, drugs, money laundering…he is a crazy lunatic - the way these people still throw up their hands and dismiss his behavior and require so little accountability it’s no wonder this all ended in a Greek American trail of violence, abuse and death.

They chose to idle and let it continue on. More than likely they're a part of it. This all goes deeper than Alex. Way deeper. I will never believe nothing but it.

@Meggie O'Neill Sorry this is such a late comment- I have wondered about that too. I'm a little surprised that finance lady still has a job there because as a partner, you'd think after you got over the initial shock, the next thought would be how in the world did someone not pick up on this? Alex was crafty, but it seems like more controls should have been in place. Even if I belonged to a different law firm, if we were set up even remotely the same, I'd be asking if the same thing could happen at our firm. It's one thing to have to pay for your own screw up, something entirely to have to pay for someone else's.

I have another theory, Paul "The Detective" Murdaugh was monitoring his dad's drug abuse and searching for his cache of drugs for his mom. Alex knew this, he apologized to Maggie in a text after Paul reported finding his dad's latest cache. Which probably made his dad angry. What if Paul had come to the decision, everyone described as a generally and genuinely likable and good kid, to plead guilty and enter into a plea bargain talks with prosecutors? How would his dad react? The reason I mention it, Alex, days after the massacre of his wife and son, said he was going to fight for Paul's honor in defeating Mallory Beach's family's lawsuit. People were puzzled why catching his wife and son's murderers was not the only priority. It perplexes me too.

Aha! The golf buggy is being mentioned, at last. I suspected that Alec was driving the golf buggy when he first shot Paul. Meaning he was shooting from sitting position in the cart. Hence the trajectory of the bullet.
With Maggie, I thought the first three non-fatal shots were from the golf cart, Alec chasing her, as it’s been proven that Maggie was running away. So with her on her hands and knees, as it was determined by the expert, Alec got out of the golf cart and walked to Maggie pumping two bullets in the back of her head.
I really hope that the prosecution will keep at the golf buggy theory because it was stated that there was usually guns in the cart. Probably Paul’s guns as he was notorious for leaving his guns all over the place.
My opinion my speculation. Please form your own instead of attacking mine. Cheers

I have no doubt that Alex was very proud of this testimony that his friend gave but I found it extremely irritating. The inflated and arrogant sense of self-importance that this family had and how it overflowed onto co-workers, friends, and neighbors. I can think of dozens of examples of murders in my own community where mostly black and brown families have to endure hours of their family members laying on cold concrete and asphalt with people walking all around. I can think of dozens of examples of crimes that were committed by known criminals including Jeffrey dahmer, and yes there were cops there that made errors. Paul being a good young man does not mean that his body should have been covered up right away. And law enforcement missing some things or making mistakes does not negate the accuracy of scientific testing or the good work that was also done that night. And the fact that this friend and his law Partners were able to walk around the crime scene and did so without interruption tells me an awful lot more about their disgusting character then it does about the poor performance of law enforcement. In order to get to that property you have to go out of your way and at the end of the day these were attorneys. Are they not familiar with how a crime scene should be treated? Are they not equally responsible for not speaking up and saying anything when they had concerns? It doesn't make me think very highly of this man that his friend also lied to everyone around him for dozens of years including apparently being inebriated or on drugs during most of that experience. Why would I believe anything that this man has to say when he stood next to a liar and to this day still stands and supports that liar? I at least have more faith in Maggie's sister who is upset and realistically disappointed that her ex brother in law lied for so long. This man looks like he's just trying to make his friend look good so that he can look good.
