What about this video was cruel? First of all, shes not too thin. A 1 yr old macaque should weigh just under 5 lbs, a 2 yr old about 7.75 pounds. She looks weight appropriate. Second, you only see what they eat on camera. Something small, a treat or snack. I'm willing to bet an actual meal time is much much longer than the average video. But I've seen videos of snacks on this channel where both monkeys either stop eating rather quickly or refuse to eat. Remember, their stomachs are about the size of their fist, a bit smaller than what they can store in their food pouches. Third, these monkeys are not dehydrated, which is very easy to spot. Fourth, Jueur is getting older. So naturally she is expected to behave better than a young baby. So she has more rules now. And I would expect her to be better behaved during a bath. She doesn't have to like it, just behave. They need to be washed because of their strong body odor and because they wear diapers. Even if they are changed very often they need to be bathed. Also both of these monkeys are given opportunity to run and play, free of clothes and diapers, and they get dirty. Another reason for baths. No, they don't take baths in the wild. But they regularly swim. And fifth, these are monkeys. Primates. They are not humans. They are not children. You have to adapt training accordingly. But I seriously doubt these monkeys are beaten. Do you know what you get if you beat a monkey? An incredibly angry, aggressive monkey. I don't see that here. I see a monkey who doesn't like to be told what to do. Too bad.
