  • The Whiskey Crusaders review Kirkland Signature XO Cognac which comes in at 80 proof. It is 12 to 21 years old in French Oak Barrels XO means at least 10 years old made in the Cognac region of France using Ugni Blanc grapes. It is thought to be made by Peyrat-Associés et CIE who have been making cognac since the early 1900s at the Peyrat family vineyard.

As always thank you for the awesome donation. It was great to finally try a really good cognac and learn about it. Cheers

Great stuff. Please do more of these as well as armagnac, schnapps, and grappa. I love a good fruit spirit. Thanks Sarra, Will, and Matt!

What's this... a Saturday and drinking good Cognac rather than tormenting Will with a Liqueur? This is unacceptable.
    Great review as always.

Haha I have to throw him a bone sometimes. Plus it was a donation that must be reviewed. Cheers

I found the Kirkland XO relatively dead in terms of aromas. So much so that I was disappointed despite its extreme smoothness

That is too bad. Was it a fresh crack, sitting around with a small amount in the bottle for a long time or make average amount in bottle? Cheers

@WhiskeyCrusaders fresh crack. I buy it anyway because I live in Hawaii and the price here cannot be beat. I bought two cases of Castarede Armagnac "Reserve de la Fammile". They claim that the blends minimum age is 20 years. It is very good.
