John was afraid of the dark, but remember what Melinda said. "I dreamed I was wandering in the dark, and so were you, and we found each other in the dark." He went willingly into the dark to save her life even though he was afraid of the dark.
I usually like to read the book before I watch the movie. Got the book and movie round about the same time.sobbed my eyes out reading the book and watched the movie 6 months later.
John is every good and moral black man in America. P.S. An if John lawyer wasn't so immoral maybe John might have healed his son. Michael should have won an Oscar for playing John Coffey! Oh and there is a story about a Roman soldier who helped kill Jesus was cursed to live until Judgement Day too.
I had to look it up to make sure, but St. Christopher is said to protect and guide those who embark on a journey. Patron saint of travelers. Interesting. 😊
Life…..changes you. Your emotions change as well. Your ability to empathize changes with your life experiences. As we age, we learn to give grace in some instances bc we gain understanding; you realize every one has been through “stuff”; at least this is the way I feel. 😊
25:46 - this was the American South, during the 1930’s Great Depression era. Unfortunately a whole lot of people thought like that. - sadder still, I’m not sure all that much has really changed in nearly a century since then. _”What is this film?”_ It’s an adaptation of a serial novel by *Stephen King.* -does that answer some questions?
Really enjoyed your LOTR reaction recently. Excited to watch you with this great King tale, and these super performances. You're starting off your channel with great content. 🥂
Thank you for a great reaction! This is based on a novel by Stephen King. In the book you get more information on how the inmates wound up there (Arlen Bitterbuck and Del).
You asked how the majority of us experienced the film..In Tears...I'll say you were less incline to that level of experience... Yes another fevered dream from the overheated mind of Stephen King...when you consider the content of his novels, you must wonder at his life experiences, afterall, authors write what they know...his being from Maine I wonder at the types of people he was exposed to...who knows...
Couldn't finish the reaction due to the distortion in the audio. I know your other videos don't have it - sorry this one did. Was looking forward to your commentary.
Well i was a bit ahead of the game woth wat hing this. I read the book which does go into more details and how as always Stephen King writes so wonderfully that you can see and get what's happening. Like yes how John is working for God going through life finding his way to those in pain or ill and taking on their pain and illnesses and releasing them and his wording you see this happening however in my mind I didn't see the vision as it shows on film, like flies or bugs being released, but I guess as I remember from the book something similar is what comes to mind as he is releasing bad, dark or evil like things he pulls from these souls he's helping them through what their going through. As Melinda said to John coffee why do you have so many scars on you, who hurt you so badly, he replies I really don't know.i took from the book , It's the scars left from seeing all the hurt in the world. And hearing how people talk to and treat one another. It leaves scars, he also take on the pain to help those suffering, like he was trying to take Dale's pain that Purcy put on him, just out of pettiness. If you noticed John in his cell was making the same movements as Dale and he was taking as much of his pain as he could, he told Paul, " I could feel it from here,. And when wild Bill grabbed his arm he said he's a bad man, and latter explained you can't hide what's in your heart, that's why he reached out to shake 8:53 Paul's hand when they first met, so wild Bill grabbed Johns arm, he saw what he did. He was so upset not being able to take back what Bill did to the girls, because if I remember right, they had been dead too long when John found them, + it takes all of his energy to do these "miracles" and being 2 of them, he tried to take it back and bring them back, but he couldn't. And also when Paul went to see his Attorney he said to the Attorney, " what's his past history @ abput John, you should be able to see something in his past somewhere, and the Attorney said " he tried to track John, but found 0nas if he never existed until that day with the girls, like he dropped from the sky ? This is my favorite movie @ Humanity good and bad . STEPHEN King is Amazing in the fact he can get you to know each character and makes you feel everything. How the guards saw Dale and all the inmates for who they were after their being locked up not for what they did to get them there. It shows there's a diffrent view other then their terrible souls like the victims families sees them, and with good reason. They have no idea ? Not that they are innocent in some cases nor that they have changed while being g in prison, no way can they see them any diffrent.
That sound makes you think of bees?... That's the sound of locusts and cicadas. I hear them every summer in SE US. They creep me out. Can't stand that sound.
1. Most people CRY😭😭 2. Dabbs Greer/old Paul was ill during production, so his part was done later. He also played Reverend Alden on "Little House on the Prairie". 3. Hammersmith was not a good lawyer. (most likely a racial thing. It was 1935 South.) 4. In the book King briefly covers why the Chief and Del are on death row. 5. This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (MCD) and Best Cast but unfortunately neither won.😭😭 6. Players in other King adaptations: Jeffery DeMunn: "Shawshank Redemption", "The Mist", Storm of the Century and William Sadler: "Shawshank Redemption", "The Mist". David Morse: "The Langoliers". Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of "Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part. 7. Movie magic Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene. 8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill. 9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy. EVERYONE hates him.🤬🤬 10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge. 11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clarke Duncan.😇 They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller. 12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off. 13. Now we know what the "cold is best" dry toast is for. 14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced. the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT)🤩 15. Four words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!
Great ! It is very interesting to see your detailed reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool classic movie 🦾🤖🔥 Do you have any plans to do it?
John was afraid of the dark, but remember what Melinda said. "I dreamed I was wandering in the dark, and so were you, and we found each other in the dark." He went willingly into the dark to save her life even though he was afraid of the dark.
He was afraid of the dark because that’s what he experiences whenever he feels all of the pain and hate in the world every day.
Just saying .,. Michael Clarke Duncan was robbed of an Oscar for this movie.
I usually like to read the book before I watch the movie.
Got the book and movie round about the same time.sobbed my eyes out reading the book and watched the movie 6 months later.
Congrats on >1,000 subscribers! PtL! Well deserved! 🙌🏻😄
12 minutes into your reaction, you are on point.
Have seen this movie (and read the book) many times.
12:38 "Tbh, they are about the same size. Maybe he feels like it's his rival." Lmao 🤣👏
Great reaction really enjoyed it and you got the message/messages that they were telling!!! Thank you!!

John Coffey initial 's were no coincidence
So did Jesus Christ.

St. Christopher was the saint of travelers. When I was 12, boys gave girls St. Christophe rmedals to signify they were giong steady. Good reaction!
Stephen King wrote both The Green Mile and (Rita Hayworth and the) Shawshank Redemption.
MCD shouldve gotten the oscar for this role. He sold John Coffey 10,000%.
Couldn't finish the reaction due to the distortion in the audio. I know your other videos don't have it - sorry this one did. Was looking forward to your commentary.
Yes "Del" was in Sister Act
Is he CandyMan!?😂😂😂
It’s a movie from a Stephen King novel or novella. Once you know it’s Stephen King, that should say it all.
