- Of all the amazing facts about the American Bald Eagle the greatest fact is not its wingspan, talon strength or eyesight but the fact that the bald eagle (which lives only in the United States and Canada - North America) went from the brink of extinction in 1963 with only 417 nesting pairs left in the lower 48 states of America, to being "one of the most well-known conservation success stories of all time,".
Had this not happened, the American bald eagle, chosen as a national symbol of the United States on June 20, 1782 at the Second Continental Congress, may have become an extinct symbol. So in addition to the USA bald eagle being a national symbol of power and freedom, the bald eagle has also become, an amazing symbol of survival.
One of the important American bald eagle facts to recognise is that while the bald eagle lives in Canada as well as the US, it is often referred to as the American eagle, because the bald eagle's image is on the Great Seal of the United States.

The words, "fly like an eagle" have been linked to flying high with drug use but, as seen in the songs lyrics themselves, the theme of the song is freedom, and it's a call to action to bring humanity freedom to humanity from poverty, oppression etc.

It was a hard decision to decide between doing a facts video or a slow motion video so I combined the two.
We have dozens that live in our area, and it's a delight when we get to see them up close. Massive birds.
I've watched these eagle handlers with their leather gloves, but they have not face protection. Apparently there are a LOT in Alaska.
Would love to travel and see them in real life and up close. NZ is so far away.

I discovered that When it's referred to as the American bald eagle that a reference not just to the national symbol of USA but the fact that the bald eagle is only found in North America which includes Canada.

An inspiring video with such an inspiring verse from the Bible. Isaiah 40;31 has been one of my favorite verses for many years now.
Thank you. Watching the Bald eagle soaring with hardly any effort, riding on the wind currents, and in slow motion, helps you think about about the meaning of this verse.
Proverbs 23:4-5 "Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist. When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven."
I've not come across that reference before. But it's so true. We can strive with all our strength for riches but never get to enjoy them... And ultimately, they do not satisfy.
