@UnfoundFilms think about this, a thermo goji with a blue atomic breath accessory it makes zero sense to include an atomic breath piece in every goji figure
Yeah, I had the same thoughts, usually I don't like charging up variants but with this one its not like the other ones where Godzilla's spines turn blue then the beam comes out, instead with this one you have to add the extra detail of the spines extending out, however if a company made one had the spines down and they called it the charging version with the spines blue, that would be pretty scummy giving the rules toho laid out, but thankfully super7 didn't do that, also the addition of glow in the dark blue spines is awesome!
If they fixed the issues with the first 2, and if the glow is actually blue than I’m all in for it. I hope they have fixed all of the big issues with it. 🙏
I always feel bad for those that buy the 1st initial version of anything. They almost always make a better repain down the line. Godzilla usually gets a better beam, atomic, special color version later on. Granted i know if no one buys the first version there wont be a 2nd release but still its mostly a waiting game for me.
They did not tease a big reveal for Godzilla Day. Brian's exact words were "We're working on some stuff for Godzilla Day, nothing too crazy." I don't know how 10+ items in 1 weekend is not considered crazy but here we are.
Toho has done a lot of good the last couple years in regards to being far less restrictive with the IP and doing good for the overseas fans. But, I ain't gonna lie chief, this is a very old-school Toho move. Such an odd restriction to make. I can almost understand where they're coming from - its all about being accurate to the film, which I can respect. But adding a beam to this (or rather, allowing companies to add a beam to this if they wanted to) wouldn't damage the release at all. On the one hand, I think its great to see Super7 go the distance and have the spines extended. Its a detail that I figured most of these companies would have skipped for the articulated action figures as it probably adds a lot of tooling costs for something so niche. On the other hand, I also do not like the idea of nickel and diming to this extent for a single figure. Assuming we also eventually see a final battle version, that'd be five versions of a single character being sold. Not including any special event recolors. Granted, obviously, no one has to buy all of them but if you're a completionist the hobby just got a lot more expensive if this is how things will be going forward. Imagine if, for Shin Godzilla, Toho required the back beams be exclusive to a night attack version and the tail beam be exclusive to a final battle version. Just a thought for how this might end up going.
Beams/breath weapons have never been a selling point to me but I do wish they would do a head with an articulated jaw. Just received my S7 Minus 1 Godzilla the other day and I think it's awesome but I think an articulated jaw would have been great on it, maybe like the Neca Creature from the Black Lagoon included static open and closed mouth heads and an articulated one as well. That said, I think the translucent blue spines look awesome on this new release but not sure if I'll pick it up. Generally I like the charged versions better bc adds some color to the shelf and blue's my fave color.
Yooo canuck i dont know if you seen this or not but on RUclips but there is an Ad of super7 showing off the ultimates! Poster color version of space Godzilla.
This is something I definitely understand about and of course there will be three versions of the super7 toho ultimates Godzilla minus one the first one was the normal version and now we have the charging up variant were he is getting ready to fire his atomic breath then later we will get the version 3 where his spines go back in and unleashes his atomic breath with his beam so I definitely understand how it works now. To me I don’t mind Godzilla figures with accessories or no accessories when I could just make so from scratch cheaper
In recent years, Toho has moved away from its name having any sort of nuclear connotations to it. That's why you hear the name "heat ray" used currently
@thebemstar7636 The monster was literally created as a metaphor for the atomic bombs and how they hurt Japan. They literally made him like that. It's more disrespectful to downplay that. He'll, I highly doubt 99% of people there actually care about using "atomic breath" anyway.
@@kaijucanuck4492 I think it refers to the fact that people prefer a heat ray version with a beam rather than a charging version without accessories and a release like this does not have enough to attract the attention of the consumer and if Hiya manages to get the licenses for minus one they They would prioritize a heat ray version over a charging version as they did with Godzilla 1991
Every Godzilla figure should come with an atomic breath accessory.
No?

It can suck sometimes but honestly, I mostly like my Godzillas to be normal and even if they include a beam I rarely use them lmao
This is the only expection to my "Charge up varients are bullshit" mentality since this version has a drastically different charge up.
That thumbnail has SO MUCH meme potential lmao
Toho is such a strange company when it comes to licensing.
Lmao I so called it!,back when super 7 announced a big reveal for godzilla day I was like it's gonna be a repaint nothing new, and I was right.

I got Bandai Spirits Ichibansho heat ray Godzilla. So far I love him. His spines are pretty.

Why did he pick up the whole box instead of just grabbing the mothra figure? That just baffled me

With enough backlash they might make changes like they did from their initial wave 1 Godzilla.
Changes to what?
1. They don’t deserve backlash
2. They didn’t decide to not make a beam, toho did
