Finally caught up with the second half of this one after having to drop off at the weekend. Great livestream as ever and delighted to be able to join for as long as I did. ANYWAY just grabbed my old Asterix editions. The English publication by Dargaud was a mixed affair. They published older volumes in a bit of a random order (as listed on the back of the book on Obelix's menhir) but new volumes were published around the time they came out in France. So you get this real mix. The reason the menhir on the back of Black Gold is so clear is between Belgium and The Great Divide publication switched from Dargaud to Hodder and Stoughton so they only listed the volumes they published. So on Great Divide no other volumes are listed. On Black Gold only Great Divide etc. Luckly I have these original hardcovers from Obelix and Co onwards as this was the time we were able to get the latest hardcover as a present at X-Mas (or maybe my Dad got them for his birthday? I struggle to remember now). The volumes before that, boy did we get them in a hodgepodge of formats, as we bought them from jumble sales, second hand shops, swap things for them with friends, whatever it took to get hold of them. Anyway enough rambling, happy to be corrected on any of that as its based on memories from a long time ago and just what i see on the books I have, they are lovely volumes and super glad you found them.
Those Mickey Mouse digests took me back. Had a couple of them in English and some Donald Duck comics in Bengali, all of which were Egmont reprints. I'm curious, are those Disney comics that you picked up, Egmont reprints too ?
Since it is always about comics, let's talk deeper about Bud Spencer movies 😂 I may have opened pandoras box during the stream but I was surprised you recognized the name at all! I did not expect anybody outside Italy or Germany to know the name. The movie you talked about is Double Trouble, and an all time favorite of mine. So funny! There are a lot more movies with him and Terence Hill and, of course, they are all really bad and stupid movies 😅 But the synchronization over here made them so likeable and iconic that these movies are played on almost every holidays on a specific TV channel. And, as stupid and entertaining as these movies are... I like to re-watch them more often and try to avoid the actual news on TV 🙈
Missed your live stream, and watching this later, just amplifies my evergreen question to you - WHERE DO YOU GET THESE BOOKS AT SUCH GOOD PRICES FROM? Jealousy just gets amplified every time you post 😄
Haha I'm sure I feel the same way whenever I watch other videos, it's part of the human condition! Here I was lucky enough not just to get comics in the mail, but also get to visit The Book Worm and Blossoms in Bangalore, full of used books! Highly recommended!
Goof Alert: I say "College Street" in Bangalore, where I - of course - meant "Church Street", "College Street" being the Kolkata destination! 😁
Your bud from South Africa! Happy to see the channel growing
Hey bud, thank you! Glad to have you along for the ride!
I’m so sorry that I missed this! Hopefully this was well attended and keep up the good work. Watching now for Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦
Greetings greetings! I hope you enjoyed the recording, and I look forward to you making it to one or more of the streams upcoming in the year!

Wasn't there a Clint Eastwood movie spoof, or even a trilogy of them? My Name is Trinity? Now I am scared to go looking for these things! 😁
@@marcelg.5675 Heyyy Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill are also well known here in South Africa
