For some reason, a lot of people took Microsofts plan to make Windows more handheld accessible as them bringing Windows to an Xbox console. Then, it somehow devolved into people claiming that Microsoft was bringing Steam and other storefonts to the Xbox System Software, which makes no sense as the logistical and technical issues would be insane to figure out. I don't think a lot of people realise just how much work has gone into SteamOS to make it as seamless as possible. They just seem to think that Microsoft could do the same overnight.
@@HiTechLoLifeExactly. Microsoft would need to do so much more than just add in more Xbox integrations and a console frontend. I'd even go as far as to say they'd need to debloat Windows before anything else could be done.

Not in here to trying to give grift against people that dont obviously Interact with Xbox's Current platform.. lol GamePass isnt free, it makes Xbox over 4 billion and counting per year... and Xbox guys are not waiting for games... its literally a torrential down pour of games dropping into GamePass Xbox/ PC GamePass right now. Phil Spencer already stated they're working on handeld, its not a rumor. They're ahead of playstations in MAU's and make more revenue than Nintendo... they're doing just fine
I dont know fellas about it being too late for msft. They have the big brand in xbox and they have all the worlds most played games. Minecraft, cod, diablo, warcraft, elder scrolls, fallout. And they have money. But they also step on rakes all the time. So really who knows.
They have the last two decades' most played games. But they also haven't produced a hit game in a long while. Gears? Hasn't been good in over a decade. Halo? Hasn't been good in almost 20 years. Minecraft is still huge but, unless Minecraft 2 comes out and it's got some crazy new feature, I can't see anyone switching over. And when they do have a good game, they fire the team that made it and sell off the IP to another studio. MS = 🤡
Call of Duty, Doom Dark Ages, Avowed,South of Midnight still to come and they recently got Stalker 2 in GamePass and Indiana Jones recently. I can tell these guys don't interact with the platform... lol and GamePass isn't Free, it's $20 per month for Ultimate which is making Xbox over 4 billion and counting per year.
@@BTMaverick707 doom the dark ages looks sick. I'm playing through doom series again and currently in the middle of doom 2. They still are crazy fun. I even love doom 3. This new one looks amazing. Day 1 purchase no doubt.
@baysidejr Hell yea, and it drops right into Gameapass PC/Console. That id Engine so sweet as we just saw with Indiana Jones. This is gonna be nuts and the games keep flowing into next year as well.

That's how I feel about Microsoft right now. Xbox is run by a bunch of team-killing morons right now. Get rid of Phil Spencer and bring back Seamus Blackley and Peter Moore for God's sake.

I feel like a controller interface alone may not be enough to match the seamless console nature of SteamOS given what Gamescope offers the Steam Deck.
