That floor hand rinsing mud off the dp should've rinsed from the top down. Any mud on the derrickman's pull rope would make it difficult to hold, especially if the mud had "Drispac" or any other additive intended to "reduce friction". The Bentonite (Wyoming gel) added with the Barite (for weight) from the start was enough to affect my grasp of the rope.
