I’ve actually played this myself (alot) and I guarentee you guys it’s not supposed to follow the lyrics at all, it’s not off at all, and if you think it’s off it’s just the video. Have a nice day 💞
What part of it do you believe to be off? Have you played it yourself to confirm it's not the video? And what about it being an expert track has anything to do with that?
You know, I have listened to this song in the car and just randomly whenever through my entire life because my mom is a big fan of Toto, I'm a lesser fan, and the more I listen to this the more just wrong it feels. I've read the comments about how its supposed to follow the drums/flutes whatever but it just doesn't work for me. like early on when the, well everything comes in after the drums started it felt strangely flat for a song that is so lively.
The opening drums is fine and then once the trumpets start i expect a block at every note but it's like every other one and then it gets a little off with the fast percussion notes. When the lyrics start the same thing happens where you hit a block every other note or so and it's so confusing. At 0:44 when he says "flight" the block is noticeably after the "flight." At 0:52 he adds in a bunch of extra notes for no reason. A lot of the song is just hitting quarter notes or eight notes. What the actual fuck is the point of the dot blocks at 1:10. Some of the sequences during the chorus are just off or don't have the same timing as the drums. That's just up through the first chorus, I'd imagine the rest of the song is the same.
The map isn't following the lyrics but instead the drums or synth, occasionally chimes or flute. While occasionally it follows emphasized vocalizations, it primarily is following the backing percussion. At 0:52 it's a repeat of an established pattern for that particular instrumental. 1:10 is to give you a break to prepare for the bridge and chorus. This map isn't meant to be needlessly difficult but I did make a normal and hard mode if you feel this mode isn't your speed. You may find that this map is easier than the other custom expert maps but I'm going by the metric established by the original Beat Saber devs, and you'll find that this map is actually harder than the vanilla expert maps.
This my favorite song to play, it’s so satisfying and flows so well.
2:47-3:14 is why this song is expert. I speak from experience.
know what idk i play this game a lot. 2019?
This game is a lot harder than it looks.. although I do get your point it's seems in the middle of hard/expert tbh
@@plot5975 2019👍
The first time I played this game I was surprisingly able to beat a hard song
The perfect video game exists. *THIS*
With my band kid ears.. the blocks seem the slightest off from the actual notes also I played Africa in 8th grade band. It was fun.

Ok, this is epic
Thank you swaggersouls :)

its a bit off but god is this pleasing
Did you make this
Rythem is terribly off, especially for an expert track
What part of it do you believe to be off? Have you played it yourself to confirm it's not the video?
And what about it being an expert track has anything to do with that?
There's a lot of other songs in the expert category that are much harder than this
Seems to follow the instrumentals very well (Flutes and drums)
That's what expert+ is for
Not really

It's not off, not at all.
Doesnt seem off to me, follows the instrumentals very well
Hmmmm.... 17 misses. Not very impressive.
wheezer - Africa is better change my mind
It's a lazy cover, they didn't change a thing. I love Weezer, but Toto wrote the damn thing and they're identical in every other regard.
