It's a shame that GT2s died in 2011, because these races were similar to the FIA GT1 ones of 2010 and 2011.
p.s. When i speak about GT2 class i'm speaking about the original GT2 class (reformated GT1 at 2005)
Crazy just how true to its moniker The Motorsports Authority was in the Speedvision days; before the same NASCAR shows 500 times over and shitty reality shows.

For GT racing cars, Monza is very hard on the left-rear tyre. The cars spend 80% of the lap accelerating to very high speeds from predominantly right-hand medium and low speed corners. This puts a tremendous amount of stress on the drive wheels, particularly on the left-rear where much of the weight under acceleration out of the turns is transferred, especially going through the Curve Grande and Parabolica. Tyre management is a major part of endurance GT racing, some cars are set up and/or driven better than others and, at this circuit, tyre failures are almost inevitable.

The difference between a factory and customer car, also the Oreca's ran on Michelin which at the time was a better tire than the Dunlop.
