I’m training my mare to stop on my seat. What do I do if she doesn’t stop went I rock my hips forward? Now if take her lateral left and right to stop her.

I made the mistake of teaching my horse to stop when I kick him in the ribs. Note what do I do?
Sounds like a confusing situation for your horse. You might try substituting a dressage whip for encouragement till you can reincorporate your leg aids into the picture. Pretty remarkable that you managed to get one stopping by kicking him in the guts! (Herm)
