- Hello! In this tutorial, we’re diving into creating a super cool audio-visual effect in motion design mode with Unreal Engine 5.5! Some awesome new features are here, including color-shifting materials, and let me tell you-5.5 absolutely crushes it compared to 5.4 when it comes to rendering audio visuals.
I hope you find this tutorial super helpful! If you do give this video a like and subscribe for more Unreal Engine tips and tricks.💡

Thanks for watching, and I hope you have an amazing day! 🚀
You are really good at this. I've been learning a lot from Motion Design from you, simple, to the point, no tangents, no introductions, no nothing. Perfect bits of information. Good job. If you haven't yet, you should apply to be an Unreal Authorized Instructor, you clearly have the skills
I'm glad you have been learning a lot! Thanks for ur support! And that's a great idea i will have to look into it :)
You should do this!!
Great tutorial. 1st time I've tried the motion design tool and its actually pretty cool. Not gonna lie, I've tried this tutorial 3 different times and got different results as you tho... lol I still learned something new which is the key.
I’m glad ur learning! And interesting, I wonder if it’s cause ur using a different sound. Where in the tutorial did it divert?

I think it’s just song choice. You should set up a discord so we can share results.
Awesome content! Thansk a lot for sharing your UE skills with community!
Thanks for watching 😁
sooo coool !!!!
thank you !
thanks for watching :)
wow
Very cool! Amazing work! I am now subscribed. ❤ Do you know how I might create emissive audio reactive eyes for one of my characters? I’ve seen some tutorials on how to create blueprints for gameplay mode but haven’t found one that’s shows how to trigger the reactivity with voice audio in the sequencer.
Thank you for another great tutorial. As I’m learning , I have a question : is it possible to use the audireactive with with lights to illuminate to music . Exa: Christmas lights etc?
ya I believe there is a way to make a material it self audio reactive to music!
Woah. Left unreal because of the audio sync issues. Gotta try this
Nice! I hope it works well for you!
Great tutorial!! I have a question though, is it possible to fit this equalizer into a, for example, a forest? I’m making visuals for my school celebration, and I tried countless equalizer techniques (such as using Blender to make an equalizer but I couldn’t import to UE correctly, tried the Niagra system and it only made me a snake that moves, not a cool particle ball that moves based on the beat, so I tried this one). I’d appreciate some tips, thank u!!!
I chose a forest for a cool but not so time-consuming backdrop, and the sky will be filled with northern lights and shooting stars*
I have a question. If I create different cloners. Can I use a track that is separated by the kick drum hi hats, synth and so on and they will all react to the individual stems. For example, I have beats I made on my MPC and want each sound to react to a specific reactor? I hope this made sense. Thanks in advance. I followed one of your tutorials and made a Niagara audio visualizer from your tutorial. I am using 5.5
I haven't tested that, but i assume that if your create different soundwaves and link a different mp3 or wav file to each it would only respond to the ones that are individually set. Sounds pretty cool what ur making, I would love to see the final result!
Another great one, quick question I know with Niagara you make the sound come from your mic too. Is there a way to do this in Motion design basically have the audio react to the music playing on the computer so I can switch music live and watch it update?
Hey, thanks! Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a way to have it update live like Niagara just yet, but if I find a solution, I’ll definitely share it!
Can this be used in games?
Also thank you for the tutorial
Actually my test file does same as yours but when i play in sequencer the motion design reacts but I cannot hear the music! Do you have any idea why its happening?
not sure, wish i could see in person
hello, this is very weird but when ever I drag in cloner, it doesn't have any default shape, and when I drag shapes in they disappear. in 5.4 it worked. is there any bug? have you had this happen? like its as if cloner just doesn't work. I saw when you added It, it had "default cube". mine does not. LMK if you have any ideas
Wiggling it’s position with the GIZMO not outliner fixes it. Sometime have to do 2 axis. Figured it might help someone else
I haven’t had this happen, I was gonna suggest forcing the cloner update, and making sure its enabled box is checked. I’m glad u found a way!
@@Unreal_KatyaFedak still would crash, but the 5.5.2 hot fix helped SOOOOOO much. THANK YOU
How is 5.5 doing? Is it still buggy and low performance?
Also thanks for the video!
its been good for what i need to do. I mainly am exploring motion design thou
Are experiencing bugs while saving files? It seems the my project crashes after I have saved something with the motion design tools..
Also movie render queue seems to glitch out when catching videos, as well as the legacy video capture.
Anyone experiencing similar bugs?
I'm not experiencing those bugs. Ill get a crash ever once and a while but not more then 5.4. may i ask what your cpu is?
@@Unreal_KatyaFedak yeah, happens when I am trying to open back the file not when I save it. But I doubt my cpu is the problem since you can find other people complaining about bugs on other tutorials on youtube (It's ryzen 5600x anyhow).
I will still try to isolate the some actions to see exactly what causes the problem.
Nice tutorials btw, keep it up.
@@NonLethalGhost ok sorry about the bugs. I have the I9 and had to change some BIOS settings as i was getting crashes on start up blank files in unreal and 3ds Max. let me know if you find an exact cause of the bug, I'm curios.
@@Unreal_KatyaFedak I have not been able to specify it till now, but it could be the cameras? I tried to shoot a 4k video with the legacy sequencer (not the movie render queue)
It seems to crash when I shoot at 4k. I had a lot of cameras in the file that crashed before.. so I don't know
But I can open that test and hunt file normally again, which I cannot do with the original file.
Still if I find the bug I will tell you.
