After rounds of historical nerfs to Caitlyn, Q dmg nerf, -2 ad nerf, ulti cd nerf, ulti dmg rescaled with crit chance, traps massive nerf in early season 14, crit item nerf, fleet footwork nerf, Caitlyn is officially 45% wr and worst adc along with aphelios. Cait does no dmg, can’t even clear wave with Q even with 9000 gold of items, hitting traps aren’t rewarding. Best Caitlyn player NA is slowly getting drained and losing his mind despite being the most positive and educational content creator out there. Current world champion gumayusi is fking losing Caitlyn games in the most horrendous way possible in NA emerald with his support spam pinging him. Riot games design and balance team need to lose phreak and these scumlords and re org the team
Translation: if caitlyn headshot doesnt 2 shot someone to death champ is utter trash. Got it.
I feel like this reset has been by far the worst in terms of toxicity and people just omega inting. Like, why is my support first timing Lux, hitting zero abilities, and playing 500 units behind me as an adc and my jg is autofilled? Send help.

The biggest issue I have is the fact that ADCs as a class and role are designed to deal damage. I can accept the fact that they want to tune down the damage, that's fair. I can accept the fact that ADCs should be easily exploitable in the early game, that's fair. But they've taken the power out of ADC so much that they almost deal no damage in the late game, if there's even a late game to be had. Why play a class that is easily exploitable, can't carry and the only saving grace of playing the class is so you outscale everyone else in the late game only to no longer have that?
It’s an inevitable result of riot’s stupidity. 1. Can’t have adc be strong for pro play, so all teams play for late game ( it’s not a concern, given raise the puppy strategy has never yielded convincing result, uzi didn’t win with the puppy strat) 2. The introduction of early game volatility ( lethality, ap items with insane passives, drag fights, weird new champions like viego, sylas) destroys adc’s agency because it’s too easy for the flashy new champion with op kit to outclass adc entirely. Compare season 1-2 adc with op s12-13 champion is fking laughable. 3. I’m pretty sure part of the balance/design team, either never play the game or hates adc because they have a fetish for watching adc become irrelevant

Prime example of riot games’ dumb design philosophy, 1. every role can carry and do massive damage, 2. adc must be nerfed otherwise the pros will just play raise the puppy. 3. Must introduce a bunch of bullshit designs and game gimmicks to prevent the game from being “stale”

@@aphelios7852these factors must be taken seriously and analyzed carefully, so the long term health of the game isn’t massively compromised like it is today. 1. Not every role should be equipped with massive damage (mage supports out dmg the whole team, assassins turbo one shotting on repeat from mid and jungle) 2. Adc needs the identity of constant dps source to be meaningful and irreplaceable, consequently dmg must be scare in the game so a role can exist to fill it. 3. Stop changing the game so much with gimmick and game bending changes every month (balance patches every 2 weeks is also way too frequent)
Adc role: deal dmg with items, no cc and squishy. Mage Apc: deals damage with items, has multiple passives, items give health/armor, zhonyas ahem, has cc.

imo the bigger problem is the arbitrary cc and immunity creep. Which Imo indirectly does more dmg than the actual dmg. For example yesterday, I was chain cc’d for 6.3s in a 7.5s team fight
20:10 how many headshot did udyr tank during that 1 minute fight? then he almost one shot you under turret? why do tanky champ do more damage than glass canons? that's why this game is cursed, it's not as simple as there is too much dmg in the game.

God this is so abysmal I am skeptical about the new buffs because I still don't believe in upping her attack speed to make Cait more like a regular high DPS ADC. She has always been a burst ADC to me and it seems Riot is slowly veering her away from the mechanics that make her so satisfying to play. Even from a power fantasy standpoint, how is the sniper character unable to oneshot?

from my low elo perspective(iron/bronze/silver), it seems like you dont play super aggro in your videos. whenever you end up in bad sitations, youre really good at getting out of it but it seems like youre always defaulting to econ maxing. the pattern ive noticed is that you are really ahead early and then when you head into mid lane, you get punished several times trying to make a play and thats where you switch back to farming rather than pressure champs.
watching these patterns has taught me to be very disciplined on cait and im often "playing pretend" focusing on cc or just using Q in team fights no solo attempts. going for kills usually puts me in bad positions so ive stopped thinking "if i do x y z, theyll die" because often than not, i only manage to do one or two of those things and get punished for it.
i could be wrong since im in low elo but these are my thoughts. these changes have made this split really enjoyable for me.
In terms of playing to pressure champions, I definitely agree that's something saber can work on doing more consistently, and he has made numerous videos analyzing pros where he talks about how he needs to play for pressure more. He also does make mistakes and get caught out, even though in hindsight he knows he shouldn't go for it. The reality is saber is very good but at the current point in time he's not top tier NA challenger, much less top tier CN/KR challenger or pro level, and he still makes a fair amount of mechanical and decisional mistakes; im not saying this to diss him, as he is still much better than I am at the game, but I think its important to point out that even the best at the game still make mistakes, and while saber is very very good at the game, he is still far from playing the game consistently optimally. If one is trying to play league competitively, the most important thing is constant improvement, rather than winning/losing any one particular game, or the gratification from saying "I'm better than everyone in this game".
Role feels so horrible, can't even play Kai'Sa actual on hit/adc build. Unless you're building AP Kaisa you're just not going to deal damage. Kraken isn't even reliable enough to take out squishies anymore. One cc ability and you're dead.

Adc is gettingmore and more trash, i was d2-d1 for 4 splits and now struggling in gold. Could i climb out yes but its way more grindy now bc the role is even less agency than before.
Yeah thats why so far this third split rank 3 in korea and euw is adc. Rank 4 in NA is adc. Just cope harder.

Nah that item is such a bait and trash item. It will never be a good rush item until they make it so ur able to apply the bleed without crit. For how expensive it was and still is after the buff, any other item will be better.

This game was far from played well though, despite it being turbo mid/jg/supp diff. Laning mistakes like trading kills with kog and letting the wave freeze near their tower aside, dying with flash up at 15:30 with wave crashing mid was actually a reportable grief, and all because you wanted to headshot the 1/3 hp udyr who has lulu and karma shields and was going to reset anyway. Its crazy to me that your reaction to the terrible throw that resulted in a 3 for 1 for enemy team and shutdown on you and viego, the two most important carries to the team, is "why do I play this champion?" instead of "what the fuck did I just do".
When you play adc and grief your lead with terrible deaths despite having a team diff, you automatically surrender all chances at solo carrying the game and have to rng roll hope your team plays better than enemy team. If you were playing a broken adc instead of Cait would the bad deaths have mattered less? Potentially, but its the wrong focus on blaming the champ when you throw your lead away for 0 reason. In any case, you literally still won the game because your team was nuts. You felt like you were useless because a) two bad deaths and b) your champion was just coming online at 3 items but your Viego already ended the game with your better team with how well he was playing. I don't get how the takaway ended up being "this is why Cait is 45% wr".
It's sad to me that the whole comment section after 16 hours is still just an echo chamber of "yeah bro this role sucks" and no one talking about the things that mattered in this game. I promise you if the game dragged on you would have been in full position to completely pop off with Cait, but we are crying about not gettnig our dopamine rush bc our jungle played better and ended the game before we got to fulfill our power fantasy.
