20 euro for a pizza is even very pricy here in the Netherlands. In my town at a very good pizzeria, it's 11 minimum for like a salami pizza and max 17 for the priciest most extravagant pizza.
Btw. fun fact, Pizza Nuova (mentioned in video) has genuine Napolitana pizza and got audited regulary by Associacion Verace Pizza Napoletana. So you can go Napoli...or Prague :) One whole pizza pie costs around 300 CZK (12 EUR) there ;)
Friendly criticism 😊 His episodes started to be repetitive due to his obsession about Tredelnik, i think. I think that there are a lot of topics to cover still such as extremely dirty metro elevators, kid friendly places, barrier free places etc. (He needs to have kid to realize these topics maybe😅)
I think many RUclipsrs like to have a "callback" joke that gives the viewer a sense of comfort. The tredelnik appears to be Janek's. But I do agree with you - it's way too easy to dunk on the tredelnik so I think it may be time to retire it for a while or use it to segue to something else.
When we went to Prague, i wanted our last day to be a make Janek angry tourist trap day, buy some ham, get some trdlelnik, go to a mini-mart and buy a keychain, take a selfie by the astronomical clock and ride the elevator thing, maybe also get some money exchanged by a scammer and do it all on a Lime scooter. Unfortunately we got Covid and weren't able to go out for the rest of our vacation, but i think it would be super funny.
Yeah and who goes to the movies while travelling? You have the same movies at home, but you don't have al the local sights and attractions. A pretty weak episode.
@@hellterminator Who doesnt go to the cinema while traveling? Just as everything else, most countries got their cinema culture. If its with old theatres, being able to drink alcohol, eat food, different snacks and popcorn, maybe a pause in the middle of the movie for toilet break. Who knows what you will get into? Was in Manchester and went to the movies, they had 7 commericals for alcohol before the movie started. No wonder english people are alcoholics. In germany they got strange kind of popcorn, that we dont have here in Sweden. Always something different.
And why would Janek promote stupid pizza All You can Eat restaurant for 500 while you can buy pizza for 189. How many pizzas can one person eat???? Me personally half of one. He's becoming a paid clown and tourist trap himself
We just visited Prague last week, and I kept in mind the advice from Honest guides, even coming down from the Prague castle I took a quick pic of the Vegan restaurant for my vegan friends! We were honestly amazed at the amount of tredelnik places here but had amazing Czech food at the secret place next to Tyr Cathedral and a wonderful breakfast at Mondieu, just 2 minutes away from a self serve laundry/wine bar, both places very friendly! The most beautiful city!
Honestly, if I see the same shop/product/cafe/food on every street corner then that’s a tourist trap. We have been going to Prague since 2006 and our visit this year was the last for us. The sheer amount of Thai massage/sweet/duck/cake/cannabis shops has put us off. Also noticed far more graffiti 😢 than before. We absolutely love Prague, the people and the food but will give it a miss for a few years in the hope that it improves. I will still visit via your channel and thanks for all the hard work ❤️
Ngl, i kinda hate that the honest guide maps are now under the patreon instead of being free, but hey, I'm happy the videos are free. Janek and Honza, you guys do great work!
We enjoyed the chimney cakes on our trip (apple and cinnamon and cream filling was lovely), but there's a reason why we only had them once but went to Creme de la Creme twice. The ice creams there are legitimately world class
You forgot to mention "Jídelna Světozor" in the basement, where you can have a beer for a price of a coffee and a nice and cheap meal (open till 15:00) before a movie, so everyone can hear you snoring :)
Speaking of saving money and avoiding tourist traps, last year we went to the wine bar Na skleničku that you recommended. Its the one that has the "bottomless wine glass" - all you can drink wine (you can choose from 6 different wines) for 20 euros. Its not unusual to pay 10 euros for one glass or wine at a restaurant in Canada, where I am from. Lets just say that four hours later we were sitting at the bar talking to a gentleman from Poland, a local university student and the bartender- and we were all sharing photos of our cats on our phones. Best travel tip ever!
I really appreciate your channel! Great advice overall! Im heading back to Prague next month and I usually go straight to your $ exchange vlog to refer to the honest exchange Map but UNFORTUNATELY it seems to not be working. I just thought you’d like to know and hopefully it can get sorted out. Thank you again for all your great advice! You are the Best Guide for your magical city! ✨🏰🙏💛
Pizza Nueva is absolutely worth it, in service and in food! last time I been there I enjoyed it so much and left the Restaurant so full I could barely talk, I recommended that spot for friends too, everyone enjoyed it, worth a visit!
We were in Prague last week, we ate at “U Prince”. Across from Orloj.. yes it was very expensive but the food, the view and entire atmosphere was excellent. The experience and the memory I now have was worth the money.
Tip. If you are over 60 years old, you can get a monthly ticket to the city's public transport facility for 150 crowns. It can be bought at many metro stations in Prague. You need a passport photo and an identity card for that. People over the age of 65 travel for free. Convenient and cheap. Remember to watch out for pickpockets!
On the subject of pizza prices, Johnny Pizza, mentioned only in passing in your pizza videos, though you mentioned their takeout place, charges 10-14 euros, depending on the size. Plus, it's a very nice place.

In my city, Antwerp, you will find the orange Donkey bikes everywhere. Their slogan is "bike like a local" but they charge €5 for a ride, while the locals use the red city bikes at €55 for a year. I guess tourists don't want to use the bikes that have to be put back into designated stations (that you find everywhere) but rather use the expensive tourist traps that they can leave laying around in inconvenient places.
I was Prague early this month and took advantage of all his tips. Btw, I highly recommend Miners Coffee shop in the Old Town Area, just off the main square. Great little place for excellent coffee and a place to grab a needed rest from the bustle of Old Town Square.
I love all the peaceful courtardy/terracy places there. We do get them elsewhere of course, just not the cities I've lived in (plus a peaceful atmosphere wouldn't be enough customers to cover overheads they need tens of tables packed in close full all day or will go bust). Also yeah the combined maths from exchanges and other things checks out well: you have saved tourists easly over 100m and taken it out of the hands of scammers and a similar amount has instead gone into good businesses that wouldn't have otherwise. That's the low estimate.
Wo trdelnik reminds me a lot of Baumstriezel which is a german thing (i think. Could also be austrian) so my theory is, that german tourists thought it would make sense that this dish mightve swapped over and transformed into its own thing so people dont really question it. At least that was my first thought seeing those booths.
Swedish cinema prices on the biggest cinema chain (there is more or less only one cinema chain, that owns all cinemas except small cinemas on the country side). 1 ticket = 12-15€ (standard, no IMAX/VIP seating), medium popcorn and soda = 8€.
I love Cream de la Cream ice cream! They are the best! Btw, still. try the Hungarian chimney cake in Budapest! Way better from those small kiosks. (not at fancy places..) Thanks for the cinema tip!
In Poland, for little more than the price of the ticket there, you can get a monthly subscription to the same cinema brand (yes the exact same brand) where you can watch as many films as you want per month.
I did go to the last cinema next to the upside down rider last time I was in Prague. It really is a beautifull building/cinema. I was struggling with the sound though. It was really hard to understand the voices. However it was Tennet, which is notorious for awfull mixing so it might have just been the movie.
I have been to all those cinemas and the price completely matches the quality of the video and sound systems. The old ones are just nice and they do not offer higher quality projectors or screens... Also, they do not have IMAX.
Am i the weird one that if I'm going on vacation to Prague, going to a movie isn't even on my radar as something to do. Also, for me having popcorn or something else to snack on during the movie is part of the experience of going to the movies.

I went once to that cinema and it's more an "independent" "hipster" place, the seats are not confortable and quite small, the place of the seats vs the screen can be problematic if you are a short person and a tall person sit in front of you, the access to go to the toilet can be problematic too. I mean, yeah you can buy good beer and their "hipster" "fancy" snacks but come on Honest Guide, the pop corns in the cinema it's like beers in a sport bar. Cheers. 😅

And i tried to follow some of your advises. And i think spending 40,- Each including a tasty czech meal, is ok. Even included some eatable suveniers from BILLA, Beer and Karlsbader Oblaten😂.
just to point out, for the disgusting electric scooter from bolt, they did a deal for which for 70 czk you can use the scooter for 40 minutes. Personally, i would love the rekola bike to be without the automatic stop that makes them kind of annoying if you are not used to, but there are also other bike rental option that work really good, like next bike
I live in an area where the prices are more than what is shown in the video for a movie ticket and equivalent snacks. In other words, the prices in this video are less so I would be happy to pay those prices.
@@MartinPeroutkas Funny thing is, its not crazy to think that they've paid Honest Guide to constantly do trdelnik videos because its still a constant commercial for trdelniks even though they keep saying "guys its not traditional" lol
well, it's not ice cream, it's soft ice, which is basically frozen foamed-up milk and water.. the same crap that McD and other fast food joints serve. It's nowhere near real ice cream, and that's not really the fault of the czech vendors. I'm trying to imagine what filling up a trdelnik with a few balls of real ice cream would be like.. but I've already added another pound to my waist just thinking about this delicacy.
Want to see a magic trick ? The disappearing 100 Euro note ? If that man with the glasses keeps waving it about in the street it won't be there much longer ! It's called street magic !
Soft serve in a trdelnik vs gelato in a proper cone is the equivalent of celebrity RUclips boxer vs a current heavyweight world champion. One is inescapable even though you want it to go away. The other is very, very good. I was researching Barcelona and I noticed that the decently priced bikeshare program was designed for locals only. Are there any such restrictions with the Prague bikeshare?
Good episode. Love watching this for incase i get to go there one day. I can only dream about a trip there. In south africa our rand has such bad vakue vs rest of world currnensy its real expensive for us to travle. 1 euro is like 23 rand for us. So i have to muliplay everything by about 22 or 23 on avarage. 😢

you guys are just making the same video over and over at this point, how many more "trdelnik is not traditional" videos do we need lol
coordinated attack by trdelnikshops owners?
Since 2016. That’s when i went so i started watching this channel to prepare. It’s crazy.
@@MartinPeroutkas Funny thing is, its not crazy to think that they've paid Honest Guide to constantly do trdelnik videos because its still a constant commercial for trdelniks even though they keep saying "guys its not traditional" lol
@@hiphoponeworld No, I don't think they (you?) like it.
Look at everyone critiquing. Keep it up boys!
Love the popcorn ban if only it was everywhere!
Is the cinema dubbed in czech though?
Some movies yes, but most of them are in english.
well, it's not ice cream, it's soft ice, which is basically frozen foamed-up milk and water.. the same crap that McD and other fast food joints serve. It's nowhere near real ice cream, and that's not really the fault of the czech vendors. I'm trying to imagine what filling up a trdelnik with a few balls of real ice cream would be like.. but I've already added another pound to my waist just thinking about this delicacy.
JANEK IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Want to see a magic trick ? The disappearing 100 Euro note ? If that man with the glasses keeps waving it about in the street it won't be there much longer ! It's called street magic !
Janek, pokaż Krknoše! To super region aby go pokazać na YT.
God I love Prague so much ❤
One of the best episodes, recently thank you Janek and Honza. All love from Hungary!
I avoided the chimneys on your advice

Cinnamon and pistachio at creme de la creme, just last week.
For 2,50 Euro I get three times of the amount of ice at Lidl in Germany "Eierlikör Premium Eis" , and it taste even better 😅
That really doesnt compare though
@@ravenlmao1006 just taste it.
I like your videos, but this one was little bit too pushy towards your Patreon...
7:44 How are the Hollywood blockbuster movies in this cinema displayed though? Are these movies dubbed into Czech, or do they display the real (often American) deal with Czech subtitles?
I wish there was a video about esims
