Whew! This video is a tall cold glass of ice water on a sweltering day! My knee-jerk reaction when I see the word "Galatians" is to quickly scroll by, but my subconscious nudged me to pay attention. "Critical", it kept reassuring me.
I took grew up in church going to David Lipscomb from k-12 so I was thoroughly saturated in Saul's writings. Then in 2000, I read my Bible cover-to-cover. Then again. Then again. After the 3rd time the inconsistencies started to be a problem. By 2005 I had completely rejected Saul. Funny things happen when you reject Saul. Family and friends disappear. It's been 10 years since I've had contact with my mother. BUT, I still have Yeshua and Torah!
You are so gracious about this subject. Looking forward to hearing part 2! Thank you for your bravery.
    Shalom

Glad you mentioned 2 Peter 3:14-17. There are 2 theories behind that. One is it was added in to backup Paul and the second is Peter was being sarcastic which is what I think after studying the Homilies. Just like Hebrews was most likely written by Barnabas not Paul. James is a rebuttal to Galations almost word for word.

That's why Peter warned about Paul's writings in 2Peter 3:16 to wit:
He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

I bought Lancaster's book many years ago, and only a handful of years into keeping Torah and faith of Yeshua outside of Christianity. The cognitive dissonance was so huge trying to figure out and rationalize Galatians, etc that I had to put it down. I give Paul the bebefit of the doubt though and absolutely will not throw him under the bus as you say and judge him negatively because I just don't know all the facts of what is really going on there. I know what the Torah and Yeshua says and just do that, even if it appears to contradict some of what Paul says.

Except that he never went against Torah. He only said if you're Jewish stay Jewish (but follow the Messiah), and if you're a gentile, stay one and still follow the Messiah. Neither did Yeshua thought that gentile should become Jews. Having said that, Martin Luther did more damage than Paul.

I was a Mormon for several years and when I started hearing your description of Paul I was completely hit with the similarity between Paul and Joseph Smith. Deut 17 says two to three witnesses. I see that apply to the words of the prophets as much as a court proceeding. Mormons deny its applicability to Joseph Smith. I suspect Christians would deny its applicability to Paul.

Welcome to Lapid and thank you for watching. The establishment of the actual scriptures, the Tanak was not the work of the church but that of the Men of the Great Assembly- Jews - many of him are mentioned in the Bible such as Ezra, Nehemiah, Obediah, Haggai, Malachi, Zerrubabbel, Mordecai and others. It has been universally accepted by Jews for many centuries before the church.
The church canonised Paul’s writings as their bible which we categorically reject. Hope that helps.

The Seventh Day Adventist church is a tricky christian denomination...
They follow the law about clean and unclean foods yet uphold the teachings of Paul...
I used to be a SDA but my eyes are now wide open about the lies circulating christianity. I left SDA on 2017. As you mentioned, the writings of Ellen g white is like a part of the Scriptures to them. They claim that the bible is the greater light while White's teachings are the lesser light. But from what I've witnessed inside this church, I beg to differ. Often times, they quote a lot from her teachings then back it up with the scriptures. There's even some sort of teachings that there are many worlds and in those worlds there are many Adam and Eve. The heck...
The deal breaker for me was when I questioned the pastors asking them why we do not celebrate the biblical feast days and why are we taking part in christmas, valentines etc, instead. The answer that they gave me was: "we need to join them in order to gain them and besides those feast days were already nailed to the cross when the veil in the temple got ripped when JC died on the cross."
Instead of standing your ground, you bend over to their belief so that you can gain their trust...? That explanation just doesn't sit right with me. From my understanding, keeping the law means keeping the feast days as well.
I think this christian denomination is the most deceiving among any other denomination... They follow the law but they are mixed with lies. They boast that they are sabbath keepers and do not eat unclean foods, they even say that they are 'spiritual Israel'. For some reason, I just really cannot accept that spiritual Israel teaching. Many people from different christian denominations think that they are now on the right path when they join SDA since it's very 'unique' from other protestants/baptists etc. in a sense that they 'keep the commandments'. However from my perception, this is what I can see: From catholic to baptist/protestant to SDA. They are just going around in circles. They are still inside this christian system. They are just repeatedly falling for the same lie of ha satan.
But thankfully יהוה took me out from this denomination... My cousins are SDA, my father is a catholic. I only have יהוה/ישוע with me since all of my relatives thinks that I am a heretic because I proudly declare that I am not a christian. But יהוה/ישוע is more than enough.
Living in a catholic/christian country(Philippines), proudly declaring that you are not a christian means you are a satanist/demon-possessed person. But somehow, with יהוה beside me, I learned to stand my ground and not bend over to traditions of men.
I hold on to this verse:
    כִּי אָבִי וְאִמִּי עֲזָבוּנִי וַיהוָה יַאַסְפֵנִי
Also since I left christianity, I don't know but it's as if there's a force that is urging me to learn the Hebrew language. Right now I can read and write Hebrew letters and know a few biblical Hebrew words. I also downloaded a Hebrew bible. The Scriptures makes a lot of sense in it's own original language. Undoubtedly, Hebrew is the לָשׁוֹן הַקֹּדֶשׁ.
I was so delighted when I saw your channel. Lots of insights from a real Jewish rabbi who believes in Yeshua.

And if you our brothers with sinful people it will affect you emotionally and spiritually and I could always tell Paul talked like he was stressed out dealing with the pagans

He said, "Paul's seemingly anti-Jewish or anti-Law rhetoric needs to be understood as internal dialogue within Yeshua-believing Judaism of his day." Can say something (i believe)
In Paul's time, there was a variety of religious beliefs (diversified) with all cast creed races with the godly beliefs. Their life style traveling import and export business are less compared to today's World, with Romans being similar to Western culture today. Later, Islam came into the picture, but the Gospel and the apostles started their mission in Jerusalem. The orthodox Jews were not believers in the new covenant. If someone were assigned to preach the Gospel to a pagan world, with the gifts of healing and writing letters, the main focus should be on teaching the salvation part that they had never heard of before. Paul also spoke of the future Kingdom in his letters, which he was guided by the Ruach in researching. All the apostles and even Paul witnessed the crucifixion of Y'Shua. Even though Paul was not an apostle, he was gifted at being a literate in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. At that time, the believers in Y'shua and Father YHWH were mostly gentiles, much like today's believers. As time passed, there was an eruption of adopting newsletters of Paul and apostles for the gentiles, which caused great confusion. The Romans forgot about the true name of Y'shua. In this world, only two religions adopted the Bible: Christians and Islam. Buddhism and Hinduism have their own teachings, with some sources matching those of Persia, Iran, and Egypt. The Roman Greeks had their own mythology, and their scholars believed in their own way, which was a mixture of junk. Today, we understand precisely what Paul was saying about the laws, which are true and agreed upon by all the apostles, especially Peter, the rock foundation of the house built. From the Old to the New Testament, both Roman Catholics and Protestants we are the only original have surpassed the core depths in research of what exactly doing today (by keeping the laws and believing in Messiach) the toughest time we do have more than any religious beliefs!

Uh no. Your wrote that all the apostles agreed with Paul especially Peter. That is simply not accurate at all. He was teaching a completely different “gospel”. • @LapidJudaism
      @LapidJudaism  Год назад +1

That is a very common thought but I have come to realize - in my evolution of understanding Paul - that it isn't true. Paul wrote what he wrote and he meant it. Btw, 2 Peter is well known to be a forgery. Even the wicked church fathers knew it and wrote about it. So it is not reliable to say the least. Not to mention the fact that the Greek there has been COMPLETELY mistranslated.
Christianity exists precisely because of Paul's thoughts and letters. Watch the entire series on Galatians. It's important. There is a mental conditioning that makes people not want to "get rid of" Paul. Why? Because subconsciously he IS the faith. That is a the problem.
