- This video holds a special place in my heart for several reasons. It marks my first-ever remote shoot, filmed at my sister’s house in Maine, with her by my side as my assistant. You’ll hear her voice throughout the video, adding a personal touch.
But what truly makes this video unique is that I’ve dedicated it to my mother. The main reason for my visit to Maine was to hold a memorial service with my siblings in honor of our mom, who passed away last December after a long battle with dementia.
Family means everything to us, so my sister also organized a family reunion that same afternoon. I volunteered to bring coleslaw, and this video captures the result of that effort. The coleslaw is a clone of the one from a certain popular chicken fast-food chain, and I’m proud to say it turned out well enough that I think even the Colonel would have been pleased.
Recipe
1 head, or 8 cups, finely chopped Cabbage
1 large carrot, finely chopped
1 small/medium onion, finely chopped
1 cup Mayonaise
1/2 cup Buttermilk of buttermilk substitute
1/2 cup whole milk
2/3 cup sugar
5 TBS Lemon juice
3 TBS White Vinegar
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Absolutely love the photos .
I found out that I was too busy visiting and having a good time to take many. These all pretty much came from other people.
Thank you, Kenny. I love that you dedicated this to Aunt Marie.😢❤
It seemed right...considering that the day started with her memorial.
Another cool post GB, Your Mom is smiling on you I am sure!
@@petefitzgerald164 Thank you
That looks delicious😋I personally like my coleslaw a bit dry. Was nice of you to dedicate this video to you Mom🤍 great video🙌🏻
Thank you 😋 I like it dry too, so I squeeze the juice out with my fork.
Great video and I saw my momma ❤. Now, I don't like onions, could I skip it or use an onion powder?
I'd guess you could do either. And it's funny, but even though I commented on the onion smell when we were making it, and truthfully, we found out later that we used a LOT more onion than the recipe I had originally called for, and I I don't think it was particularly noticeable in the taste.
That looks yummy. Minus the onion, of course
😅
No, not of course! LOL
